Tried something different with this video. Incorporated some story telling before leading into my own impressions of the game with this one. Would love some feedback 👍
For people in the know about video game news/ this particular game, the intro probably does nothing for them... but I think it's a good way to give people a brief synopsis of happenings surrounding the game you're reviewing/ giving your initial thoughts.
It may be a good thing to continue doing moving forward 👌🏾
I would like to say that before releasing the game they said it will be an uncensored version world wide. You buy the game as a disk get a day 1 patch that removes blood, Cutscenes and changes some outfits. I think thats just not a nice thing to do. I think maybe you should have mentioned that :)

I actually enjoyed the story, mainly due to all the lore I unlocked which helped me understand the cutscenes better. It’s more complex than you think. Hard to explain without spoilers.

Agreed. I can be a bit of a completionist when I really get into a game, and Stellar Blade is that game. Finally got around to playing the demo last Saturday and bought it IMMEDIATELY after the demo was over. It’s hot, it’s badass, and it ticks all the boxes to the point I already have 30+ hours locked in. Is it GOTY worthy? Definitely deserves a nomination in my eyes, and a lot of other awards
I really got into the lore. Heavily. I even studied a bit of the Bible to get similarities between Genesis and the game. There a quite a few similarities, not just because of the names of people and locations, but themes and stuff. I loved it. People can call it "meh", but I liked it. Excited for the sequel.
Researching the lore and having an open mind is also crucial to getting a good ending that doesn't endanger anybody.

I waited 5 long yrs for this game and man it went beyond my expectations. Im at 73 and counting on my first playthru and jumping to NG+ right after then doing another playthru. I just cant get enough of this game it's addicting lol
I am 40 hours in and i only just got to Zion(which makes me happy because i got my costume gifts). I am slow as hell and explore a lot. I am also doing a skin suit normal play so killing the bosses might take a few more tries since i have no shield. The monkey guy i killed last killed me a few times just because of that when i almost had him and it was obvious i would have killed him if i had a shield quite easier.
I think i managed not to miss anything until now though and got my skill tree quite advanced with plenty of money.
This game exceeded my expectations by a lot. A very enjoyable hack n slash game. the high user review is well deserved in my opinion. There are literally no part of playing this game that's not fun.
The funny thing is the creators wife is the main character artist in the game and she a baddie
I felt the same about the story until I changed the language to Kr. It feel natural and puts more emphasize on the threat and emotions better for me.
That definitely helps but the story also just gets better by the end when everything comes together.
This was my experience. Once again proving Subs > Dubs.
I think the Spanish voice actors are better also. But being from the Midwest the english version sounded pretty normal to me. I've seen games with far worse.
@@strenifstrecs2551 It also helps that the Korean dub is the intended one, since Eve’s hurt sounds during gameplay are from the Korean voice actor.
I’m going through my 3rd playthrough of the game. I already got the Plat on it (there’s a way to get 2 of the endings without having to do a whole other run). Now I’m just going to enjoy every inch of the game again. Changing the language helps as well. 9/10 in my eyes.
There is an exospine where you have the ability to improve your stealth. In eidos 7 there is a cool hidden area in the construction area when you move the two cranes. @The Black Hokage

My first playthrough took me 72 hours. I did everything possible to do and spent time getting good at the combat. As soon as I finished it I started NG+ to get all of the outfits and a different ending for the platinum trophy. I love this game, I think it's ace and I already know I'll be doing a 3rd playthrough. It's definitely a 9 for me.

Plan on doing 3 myself. 1 for the bad ending with no side quests nor outfits. 2 a restart, get everything, and secret ending. 3 NG+, get everything again, and get the good ending.

This guy is dead wrong about stealth. All you have to do is be patient, which is literally the foundation of stealth. I’ve methodically taken out groups of warrior level enemies one-by-one in stealth mode just by employing patience.
I personally don't care for the game but I do find the hate for it weird. It you don't like the game, don't buy it because it's not hurting anyone.
People did the same thing with Nier I ain’t forget. But look at Nier now.

@@theblackrufio9166The game was made by Koreans, not Americans. Different countries and cultures have different meanings for things. If you are offended by a Korean game having HARD and R side by side, then you are an incredibly soft and whiny human being. Don’t go outside, don’t go on the internet, don’t open your eyes, and become deaf. That’s the only way you’ll never get offended. There is another option of course, but I don’t recommend it.

finished the game yesterday after 65 hrs doing 80% of the side content and it was a Blast, such a great game, and has a decent story to my surprise with a interesting lore and world building, and has good exploration too that is rewarding compared to FF16s lackluster of Exploration, definitely one of the best games this year, can't wait for the sequel, but for now doing my NG+ Hard Mode No Damage run, game is just addicting to play
To be fair the original voice acting isn’t in English probably why it seems weird, but I get you speak English

Side note stealth works amazingly well if you use the camouflage exospine. Used it constantly the entire game
In reality though the game isn't trying to have stealth mode or anything. Is just a skill that allows you to kill fast a few enemies you can sneak on for convenience.
Is just something extra for those that like avoiding some trouble not a full on stealth mode or anything like that.
I avoided quite a few annoying battles like that.
Can't sneak on bosses tho

dope soundtrack, dope combat system, dope character design. Only complaint is that the “open world” areas are both just big empty deserts. Makes sense from a narrative standpoint but still seems lazy.
I haven't had the chance to play anything beyond the demo as of yet, but I do really appreciate hearing such an objective opinion of the game. You are so right about how the controversies were overshadowing the quality of the game.
59 year old machinist here. I’m having a blast playing Stellar Blade, while I wait for Shadow of the Erd Tree. I doubt that any game could live up to the hype that this game has received. That being said, hell yeah give it game of the year. Why? Because fuck you. That’s why.
I'll current on my 4th playthrough of this game. Beat it on normal twice for the first 2 ending and hard for the last ending where you don't take his hand and become one. Last playthrough, I'm getting the remaining missing memory sticks and documents that I've missed, which aren't very many. This game rocks.
People with agendas are using this game as fuel to start their war. That attitude makes those ppl not play it seriously and act butthurt while SB is still a fun & well made game. Furthering the cycle of hate online is never going to "fix" anything, I'm sure of it.
I want a sequel. The gameplay is really fun. Also, keep the beautiful, spicy, and wow costumes.
The game is pretty much a breeze UP UNTIL A CERTAIN POINT. Then the difficulty spikes crazy.

@@goodhoonter9882The last two to three bosses will ramp up. The three before them will slightly skill check you. But if you like a good challenge play it on NG+ hard mode. If you want to lose your sanity play NG (not NG+) on hard, skin suit, no gears, no exospines, body and beta cores. You’ll get deleted by basic mobs. And Gigas will one hit you every time.

I have no reason to get so super hard on it. I play just to enjoy the game and have some fun not to rage, am a middle age man with few hours free time, i don't have all the time in the world trying to become the pick expert of gaming going untouched etc.
I play most my games in simple normal mode unless the game is silly easy that needs hard to be a little interesting.
I am on my first playthrough and i am doing normal with skin suit so that is plenty for me already since i have no shield. I only hope the last few bosses don't make me ruin my skin suit playthrough and force me to give up and put a shield suit. If i beat the game i am gonna stick to normal for the other endings as well and as long as i get those too then i am happy feeling i finished everything about the game with no interest trying those super hard playthroughs. At best i may play a little hard more for fun just to check it out but not with the indent to get a full hard playthrough or anything.
@@SIPEROTH Oh for sure:D To each their own. I feel you though. I also only have a few hours I can put into the game throughout the week. And no one should feel forced to play NG+ on hard mode at all. It’s just for the players that seek for an extra challenge in difficulty. And for those it’ll be well worth it:) Playing the game on normal too with high contrast right now as I am just collecting everything (100%) and the last couple trophies for platinum. This is my 3rd playthrough though and I’m planning to do a fourth on hard mode again just to experience all the amazing boss fights again without feeling super overpowered 4-5 shotting every boss until Matrix 11.
I got 80 hrs on the game. On my 3rd playthrough rn. One of the best single player games I've played in a long while. Hopefully there's expansions/sequels coming out.
This game got me to go into my pockets and buy a PS5 because of how unique it is. It also goes agist the grain of how the game industry is.
I think once you finish the game you’ll love the story, because it’s deep and has meaning especially with the memory you get from fallen people
¿How you can play the game whit just one hand?
I came for the booty. Also the game is pretty good. I'd probably give it an 8.5 out of 10. I'm about 25 hours in so far and been doing every side quest and exploring every environment to get all the collectibles and outfits. Just hit Spire 4 last night. I'll probably end up doing NG+ too and getting the platinum trophy, which isn't something I ordinarily do with most games.
The only big complaint I have about it is that the English voice acting and dialog is atrocious. The voice acting for EVE and Adam is mostly good, Lily is hit or miss, and almost every character outside of those three sounds like they just hired whoever happened to be walking by the studio at the time. It's not helped by dialog that sounds like it was translated from Korean by someone with a barely passing understanding of the English language, and LORD am I tired of the long pauses between lines that should've been trimmed down.

I haven't turned on the internet on my ps5 in 5 days.. the game is freakin' awesome.. the gameplay .. the fighting.. some of those bosses from the sidequests straight up destroyed me.. but those finishing moves in that cybernetic dress (chefs kiss).. the game is Awesome ! definitely an 8+ ..its the female version of Dante (style wise) its a shame that it got censored but I'm playing the disc version 1.0 and I haven't seen any bugs or issues.. Performance mode runs smooth.. the story is not bad but its not The last of Us or Baldur's Gate level dont expect something too deep.. and Eve.. shes gorgeous.. every time you find a new outfit you'll use that .. all of them are just great.. she makes the game.. I've been starring at her boobs every time she has an interaction with another character.. at one point I thought she will yell out yo my eyes are up here.. and the fact that "snowflakes or whoever was offended" are mad at those devs for making Eve this Hot just adds the icing on a perfectly hot cake that is Stellar Blade.. every single person out there playing disc version 1.0 is basically sending an FU to all those ofFenDeD people.. I have a strong voice for Stellar Blade's Platforming which gets a solid 9/10 from me.
@10:50 This is probably the only reason why I reduced the score to 9/10 and I'm happy you pointed it out unlike most reviews. That platform you tried to jump on is just part of the games background and you're not supposed to go there as it has no collision. It can be hard to tell where you can and can't go. They should have stressed during tutorials that the radar tells you where to go when platforming. When using the radar, the path lights up. Even if you are not platforming, you should be using your radar every 30 seconds to make sure you are not missing any items and to bring up the compass.
@11:10 lets be real, you missed, and you would have fell if it was any other 3D game except maybe Tomb Raider or Kena: Bridge of Spirits. What more do you want? Ya missed the jump.
I went on reddit, and I am not sorry for starting the platforming topic and am not sorry for every comment I made that people found offensive. After intensive research and getting different opinions, it's a skill issue, pure and simple. I also can't stand it when reviews compare this to 2D platformers... really??? It's 2D! You don't need much programming and collision to make it work.
I've seen reviews where someone tried to Circle button into a construction area with a small area, clearly you can't fit and they call it trash

One of the best games I've ever played all the way around. Far exceeded my expectations. Preordered day one of availability to poke the whiners. The demo really got me hyped and love the game.

A fair review all things considered.
One nitpick, the Hard-R controversy happened before the release of the game. So it wasn't possible for some gamers to find, it was only "journalists" who had early access reporting on it.
Also, a fun fact that adds to the targeting from "journalists" that Stellar Blade faced before launch, originally when it was announced as "Project Eve" the Naytibas were originally called Nativas. You can still find the articles online criticizing the game for calling the enemies in the game natives. I wonder how many voice lines had to be redone at that point in development.

In terms of voice acting, I recommend playing with the Korean voice and subtitles. I turned on English and couldn't do it due to their dry delivery, but the Korean va's really do make it better. The story is predictable, but I'm enjoying it.

Some of kratos finishers he uses his bare hands,and he makes sure their extra dead. She still a pretty cold stone killer cause her semi lack of emotion, but she she's not as brutal than kratos
I’m sorry, but this is completely wrong. Kratos is the most brutal motherfucker out there. If I remember correctly he once ripped off a Gorgon’s head just to turn its body to stone and shatter it.
Young kratos is way more brutal, and it isn't even close
On the voice-over part that you mention, they seem emotionless, If you play with the original Korean voice-over. They all sound much better, even the random guard sounds much more enthusiastic.
My thoughts as a female player: I loved this game. I got addicted. :) Adam is a big reason why for me, same way Eve is a big reason for many of the men. I REALLY liked the lore. I wish less of it was locked behind text walls, and more of it was shown in cutscenes, but it's not too late to revisit the lore later. Platforming difficulties and the inability to climb any surface was sort of "eh", but I guess hack and slash aren't really about exploration. Also... very sensitive fall damge. Lol. xD I liked the story but I hope the sequel has an even stronger story. Maybe the Nier Automata director can give the Stellar Blade director some story writing tips. I really wanna see Adam and Eve again, and see what the future of mankind is.
if you finish it you know how Adam and Eve end up but it is so solid, Cosmic-Espeon and I on another video are talking theories and discussing the lore itself as we are theorycrafting everything and that just says we're invested in it to the point we are questioning things

Played the demo and loved it and finished the game recently finished it aswell and oh man it's amazing currently playing new game plus and playing it all over and getting EVERYTHING

The game gets a lot better by the end. Honestly to give a good opinion on the game you have to finish it once or multiple times because the game starts off slow and then ramps up a lot at the end.
One playthrough is enough to determine if it worth the average person time. Alot of us don't have time to redo a game four times to see if it gets "good". If it not fun for a full first time playthrough, it not that great.

Multiple times if you want because you don't see all the content in one run due to multiple endings, ng+ outfits and new abilities, skills and gear that you simply don't have on your first run. That's why I included multiple times in my statement since even after completing the game once you don't have the full package. This game is not the same as other games with their ng+ and if you paid full price for the game you might as well see all the content you can. That's the angle I'm coming from.

NG+ in Stellar Blade adds mobs where there were none prior, mk.2 versions of everything that is stronger than first playthrough, more skills both for Eve and her drone, more outfits as variations of the first playthrough ones... it isn't Starfield or Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia style where you lose key abilities and start the same all over no mob changes

6:00 There's also the point to consider that this game was made in Korea. People often forget that Japan and Korea are not America. Even if they put the "hard" there on purpose, it's more likely they were going for the meaning used when a movie is almost spicy enough to exceed an R rating. Why the heck would Koreans know about a racial slur for a demographic that is almost nonexistent in that entire region and that many Americans have never even heard of? Why would they be expected to know more about the nuances of our culture and history than us theirs? Whether it was intentionally put there or not, it was doubtlessly never intended to be racist.
That aside, I think you nailed it on all points. Stellar Blade is not game of the year material when it shares a release year with FF7 Rebirth, but it was a solid game that was worth the time and money I spent on it.
This is a fun game. And yea it’s a GAME! I think it’s a solid 7 to 8 game.
Likely gonna wait for a bit of a sale before buying it. Dont feel like paying full price for it since ill probably playthrough it maybe twice and its not very long

I think eves figure is realistic. Not oversexualized (The clothes oversexualize it tho, which is fair, these guys made NIKKE after all) Just a woman would have to put in some exercise to get it.

I agree with you 100% of this but one the one thing I really dislike about this game is how it hard it punishes you. I don't remember Jedi doing it that hard but this game has almost made me break my controller a few times.Great game none the less

As for the difficulty, get to the end battle and then talk 😜 As for the acting, I don't know. They are AI robots. They are supposed to be less humain? I wouldn't even be surprised that it was the artistic direction fromt the studio.

I bought this game today... i've not had chance to play it much yet... but i totally bought it because i wanted to perv on the main char... i don't care. I want to see hot/interesting chars in my games.

I likes it. I do think it almost had everything to make it a great game but some aspects just felt plain and surface-level like the story and characters. Music was fire. Gameplay fun. Visuals great. World design was great. Another of great ideas but some execution was just okay.
So I played this a bit and I'm not going to lie it's pretty good. No surprise it's one of the highest rated games by users,which I trust since IGN kinda sucks now. Combat is amazing,difficulty can be there,graphics in almost all aspects is peak,the grind aspect is there but not feeling to much like it's part of the game like War frame,story is great besides the fact the English version feels monotone,whether that be english west is jealous their 54 genders aren't recognized or they just read from a handwritten script,idk. My rating as of playing most side quests and main story up until the Great Desert ( I think it was called Aybass Leviroe),game is 8/10 and is yet another lesson for the woke western devs at Ubisoft brains and Activision Activists. It reminds me of Final Fantasy 15,but much different theme and not as impactful emotions.
P.S: There is one particular quest where the characters don't feel so monotone in some moments. There was one instance that I had to retrieve hair style equipment to change my characters hair,and first time I did it,let's say unexpected thing said by Adam that showed emotion. Also near the end of my run I feel like they showing more emotion. If that's the case,I like that. Funny part was I genuinely thought Eve was a robot,so I passed off the monotone things as just part of that,but again near the end I was questioning myself and found out she isn't. Now I can actually like her because I am sort of similar to her.
I liked it a lot the first half of the game is pretty easy. it amps the difficulty quite a bit in the later half unless you use a cheesy exo spine. seems most people didn't like the story but i actually rather enjoyed it. sure, it wasn't earth shattering but I found it enjoyable even if it was fairly predictable.
Another "it's too sexy" review. Dude, I wouldn't be sitting here considering a PS5 purchase unless it had those sexy avatars. Fan service is a tangible and very powerful metric that is often times ignored.
Eve reminds me a shit ton of Zero from the megaman X games.

I like the game. The parries feel good. I was hoping the combo’s went ham like Devil May cry or god of war. The combat is not really in depth. You just poke until you can perfect parry or perfect dodge. I’m not perfect. I’m getting smacked. 😂 but with that one complaint, I over all enjoy it. 😂😂😂 that song was lol

I think ill wait for a lil price drop/sale b4 snagging it. Im in no rush and if its truly a game thats good, itll still be talked about by then. 😁👍🏾
My only gripe about Stellar Blade is with the way the story is told it makes it seem as though it has only one ending and makes the few decisions you make seem forced/thrown in there. Outside doesn't anything wrong with it.

Great game. No complaints here. Currently on NG+ Great rewards after you beat it. The combat and action was the most important thing to me. I dont care how sexy she was supposed to be
I still really find skinsuit weird and distracting. I still prefer 2B's gothic lolita dress or something like Mai Shiranui coz it gives you that feeling of getting teased making you want to see more beneath their clothes. Anyway, the good thing is.. after seeing Eve's reskinned naked body in couple minutes, you'll get used to it and focus more to the story and gameplay.
The Korean Voice acting , with English subtitles, is a much better story. Eve is much more upbeat and goofy. Adam's voice actually fits his face. Lily's more interesting in Korean too. Plus they sync the voice so their animations are different to reflect the Korean actors
Unfortunately I have to be very picky with my games because of a lack of time and limited freedom in finances so I’ll have to wait for a sale. It doesn’t look good enough for me to jump on right away
They needed like 2 or 3 more songs in that soundtrack tbh. It got a little too repetitive with just like 4 songs

They are pretty good songs tho. I prefer that than a Game that has over 50+ songs and none of them stick to me.
But yeah, hopefully next Game has a bigger soundtrack with the same Quality as this one
