The greatest second baseman of all time. A career .285 hitter, 2386 hits, 282 homers, 1061 rbi, 344 stolen bases, 1318 runs scored, 10 time all star, 7 time silver slugger award winner, 9 gold gloves, home run champ, MVP Major League player of the year award and a career fielding percentage of .989
Barry, LONG before Michael Jordan came to Chicago in 1984/with the Bulls...it was Sandberg who made that #23 popular here in Chicago.
My favorite player when I was a kid in the 80's and 90's. I wanted to be a second baseman just like him.
I still love this guy. Long story but I met him in the 80's. He signed with the Cubs and I have been a fan since. I owe so much to him and how he enriched my life. Thank you, Ryno
My dad said he broke furniture after the Cubs lost the '84 series against the Padres. I wound up basically doing the same in '03 haha (my dad had died by that point). Those two seasons (and '69) were heart breakers!
great player, stunting on everyone with all those awards in the back lol. Gotta respect it.
Ryne- so hey sorry they hired another Hostess up thar in Chicago to pick y’all up at Airports & go out on Dinner Dates. I got asked to work up there with you a few months ago- thanks! 🇺🇸♥️✌️
