There’s a very nice one on sale from CarMax in Bakersfield, CA right now. 2009 Off Road, 100k miles, 2 previous owners, rear locker, etc.

love everything about my xterra other than gas mileage. Most reliable vehicle i have ever owned. Got 315k on a 07 and drives like it has 100k
Mileage really isn’t terrible though. What do you average combined? Like 16-18mpg?

What kind of gas mileage do you expect from a heavy duty body on frame 4 wheel drive SUV ? I get 19 to 21 mpg on the hwy and about 17 all around driving, not bad. If I want gas mileage I drive my Jetta tubo diesel, lol

How is it?
My dad has this gen of the xterra, but his is a 2008 and is in bright yellow. His also has R33 tires (they are modded tires). You can never stop a xterra!

The Xterra is pretty underrated as an off-road SUV
2005 SE Xterra here Manual currently at 124k never selling it nissan engines are rock solid drives like the first day we got it. Want to avoid car payments? Get a good used one and you will save money in the long run there are plenty out there but the price are climbing for these.
The Xterra is one of the only Nissan products I actually like
This, the Frontier, and the pre-4th gen Pathfinder were the BEST from Nissan!!!
I bought an 2011 X 4x4 in march with 172k, I replaced the radiator and pretty much the whole suspension now Im just waiting to get new tires. So far no complaints.

I bought it for $3600, I put on K02s. Its at 183k now and still drives like a champ.

Bryan Rojas it’s an ‘06... no problems except rust (since I live in NY). Other than that it’s pretty solid I’m happy

2005 Xterra Offroad MT-6 SPD, about to hit 200,000 miles. Had side airbags deploy while offroading (Recall), one of the CATs went bad, and other minor problems. Good truck though.
I wish they still made the Xterra. Like the Frontier but LOVE the Xterra...

glad I got my '15 Pro4 the time I did...right before the "in demand" hit. These things are now like the FJ Cruiser...more off roaders and the likes are snagging them up quickly especially if under 100k miles. Im just now around 97k miles , just changed serp belt and thing runs great. economy is avg 22 mpg on hwy and 15 in city..I live in mtns of NC so lotsa hills...but really love how it drives. Very nimble off road...tighter turn radius than that of a jeep to boot.

This SUV was so much capable, muscular and funnier than Xtrail, I dont know why Nissan choosed Xtrail to continue in production

Even though I was brought into the world of JDM shitbox sports cars like the r32, 86, Supra, and rx7, I still love these big hunky SUVs, they just feel powerful, owning one of these as a daily drive with a 90s Toyota celica is just what I need
It's really a great truck and so that's why I put a new engine in my 2006 Nissan Xterra I literally have the same one you do enjoy it

These are known to last over 400,000 miles. But Toyota 4-runners last longer.
A 4runner can easily last over a million!

Just got me a 2006 with a 4.5 " Lift . Next on the list is Bumper mods , not sure if i really want my spare tire on the rear bumper or not , love my rear view. Not going to extreme as far as wheeling goes , so maybe thinking on top on a Rack ... who knows ... Love my Rig .

Xterra vs. 4Runner. We all know who won that battle. Who’s still in production
Would take an Xterra over a 4Runner any day... unless it where a Land Cruiser then.
4Runner good. Still in production. Xterra just as smooth and MORE capable off road. 4Runner is closer to the Gen 3 Pathfinder. Xterra a dedicated overlander from the start!

Guys, just dont tell to anybody in Europe that you have a card with consumption of 17 l/100 km. Jeez that is insane expensive to drive. In europe people dont buy cars that does less that 25 mpg in city. You are very lucky to drive cars with that big motors with good sound
It's quite difficult to find cars in america that have smaller engines. At least where I live. Everything is a 2 liter+ 4 cylinder, 3-4.5 liter V6, or a V8
They do and they usually install LPG systems to make fuel economy more bearable.

Yyyyyup! The “Strawberry Milkshake of Death”. It’s really a shame because the engines and transmissions that were used in these trucks (Frontier/Pathfinder/Xterra) were otherwise pretty stout - especially the 4.0L engine.
Second gens. had that problem, i used to own an 04 rwd base. Now i own a 2015 Pro4x.
Why this sounds like Toyota's 1GR-FE Engine. As no difference in sound in Toyota landcruider V6 and this Nissan

After turning ignition on u have to wait about 1-2 sec to let fuel pump to fill up system with fuel. Starting car imeditly can kill fuel pump
Sounds like that might apply to very old cars, but it definitely doesn't apply to anything from this century

Hey my mom has a Toyota sienna 2001 and I was wondering g if you can do a video on a Toyota sienna
This car is not very reliable. One of my friends has one of these and a year ago, his ECU failed and his car kept stalling and eventually it couldn’t start at all. Now he has transmission problems. He can’t get into reverse despite that he changed the transmission fluid recently. Plus on top of that, I’ve red a lot of reviews about the xterra and the pathfinder and there is a lot of negative reviews. Many people talk about having different kinds of problems with their transmissions.
you've done just enough research to barely understand. yes the early models had an issue with the rad leaking into the trans. as long as you replace the radiator, $200, your fine. no vehicle is perfect, just because your friends had issues, thats a sample of 1....
I have had my 06 Pathfinder for 12 years with 250k miles. No problems with transmission because I changed the radiator like 10 years ago. These cars are amazing, affordable, and fast!
@@mtnbound2764 also the not starting problem is probably just a crank sensor. I had that issue on my 4.0 Frontier and it was a $20 fix
