    Key features -
    - Unique 'shred & collect' system
    - Hardened, precision stainless steel cutting rotary blade
    - Cuts & shreds leaves and branches (up to 20mm/0.8" wide)
    - Collection bag - 60 litre capacity
    Description -
    The Garden Groom Pro features a unique 'shred & collect' system that makes the job of hedge trimming much faster and easier: as you cut, none of the waste is left to fall to the ground.
    Its precision ground rotary blade spins behind a protective grille, drawing leaves and branches (up to 20mm / ¾" diameter) into the unit where they are finely cut -- with the debris stored neatly in the included collection bag.
    As the Garden Groom Pro operates at such high speed the clippings are much finer than those of a conventional hedge trimmer with their volume reduced by as much as 90% - making it ideal for composting.
    The Garden Groom Pro is fitted with a hardened stainless steel cutting blade with a safety interlocking system concealed behind a protective front grille. This virtually eliminates the risk of cutting the mains cable.

    I've used an electric B & D trimmer for years. It's been a workhorse but I no longer am, and wanted to make my job easier. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG Around the corners, the small side yard etc. was a pain to run the cord out to, so I bought this thinking I'd use it for touch-ups and hard to reach places. Well, I haven't used the corded one since!This is so light weight and so much easier. It has all the power I need because I start wearing down after about 20 minutes and I haven't run out of battery yet. It takes about two hours to charge. I've used it about twice a week for a month and still have line left too. My favorite feature is the blade inside the shield that keeps the line trim to where I don't even have to think about it. You can see from my pic that it's been heavily used and I probably should clean it more often. Very happy with it.

    I've had one of these for nearly six years. The big advantage is that it shreds the clippings into the bag and they can go straight into the compost. There is a knack to using it, but once you've got it - it's great!

    I invented a laser beam to cut hedges. The problem was the laser cut everything past the hedges including the wood fence and a squirrels tail further down the street. Back to the drawing board.

    • @roystonfence816
      @roystonfence816 2 года назад

      I had the same problem.
      We usually use a glass
      optical disk diffuser mounted opposite of the beam which works really well. The deam is less concentrated and less likely to burn though.
      Our Selachimorpha-mounted system still needs R&D work though. They keep pruning their own tails off.

    This may be quite useful for small hedges. But in his examples there is a lot of bending and stooping which is probably straining on the body and back. I use my articulating hedge trimmer attachment on my grass trimmer. I can do everything without having to bend or reach. Lower portions of the hedge, I rotate the hedge trimmer downwards, and I can cut without having to bend down. On higher sections I have an extension tube that increases my reach. And for the top of my 9 foot hedge I just set the hedge blade horizontal and trim it from the safety of walking on the ground. I couldn't imagine the time and risk of using the GroomPro on a ladder for the length of my hedge.

    The idea with the collecting bag is acutally the most interesting, but thats it. Not efficient in cutting if you only cut once or twice a year. Normal hedge trimmer still more efficient.

    you can use a lawn vac to clean up the hedges.... but he needs to figure out a way to make a bigger cut. Maybe an over extended blade?

    The key bonus is easily the collection vaccuum. Consider the time to cut+cleanup, not just cut. Depending on your application this may be easier than a traditional hedge trimmer. My hedges sit over lava rock, which is something I cannot easily clean up debris from because trimmings get caught in the rocks and you cannot rake over lavarock.

    • @ThornyUke
      @ThornyUke 10 лет назад

      The key bonus should be the fact it cuts quick AND cleans up but it just does'nt does it lol. Petrol cutter and tarp or garden vac = job done and quick. :-)

    This actually might be useful for small box hedges. My Stihl combi is awkward to use for that type of trim. Everything else about this product isn't good at all (tiny collection box, cutting area. Also 3.5 kg so not even that light for the likely target audience)

    Can't compare with regular hedgetrimmer speed....small round blade doesn't give you a good orientation to follow the straight line.... to save the idea - a larger blade and petrol powered unit (which has more rpm than electric - same with elect. chainsaw vs pet. chainsaw) could improve the cutting quality and the speed of cutting, avoiding you to go over and over the same area again and again....... otherwise very interesting, would like to see petrol version ;)

I think what you are selling here is just an idea but not a good practical piece of kit. Would suit being sold by the likes of JML or QVC etc. Theres no point going over the same bit of hedge like you're polishing it is there?
