Beautiful job! Thanks 🙏🏽. I do my own yard work so I am always looking for tips. This was so clear and simple, now I too can have my yard looking professionally done. Let me know if you have tips for a quick way to trim rose bushes. Thank you again for posting this video.
Sure, I use a hand pruner to cut back rose bushes. When you prune them, wear long sleeves and gloves. Pull off the leaves so that you can see the stems better. Cut the dead stems first. When you cut it, if it's brown on the inside, it's dead. If it's green on the inside, it's alive. Always remember to cut them at an 45° angle......NEVER STRAIGHT ACROSS. Always cut at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the bud and cut stems that are crossing each other. Was a quick answer, but i hope this helps, and thank you so much for watching 🙏🏾

Depending on the shrub, you should have more new growth on it by the fall. Trim them again before we get into colder temperatures, so maybe before Halloween. Appreciate the video! Did mine for the first time yesterday and it turned out really good. Of course yours looks like a pro did it and mine look like a rookie. 😅
Thank you. This is an American Boxwood. The best place to find them is gonna be at your local nursery. Home Depot and Lowes has them, but to me, nurseries have better quality. They grow fast if you keep them fertilized. These in this video we're about 4 feet tall and 3 ft wide. Thank you, and your channel is amazing, by the way 👌🏾
Thanks so much for your quick reply! I’m in Texas. I’m looking for some bushes that can reach atleast 6-7 feet in height to cover my tall foundation. Looking for bushes that can hold up in extreme heat but can also live through very low temps since we get that occasionally and so many of my neighbors bushes die from just 1 day in 10 degree weather 😩. Did some quick research and these look like they’ll work. It looks like there’s some darker bushes that are the same height in your video. Is that the same type of bush?
@Frequentfinder These bushes will do the trick for you. Since you're in Texas, they MAY have a different variety because of your climate, but generally, boxwoods will do well in heat. They can also get up to 7 feet tall if you let them grow that high. The majority of the shrubs in this video were boxwoods besides the small tree near the door and the big round bush that I trimmed that's tucked in the corner. They will also do well in the winter months, so don't worry, y'all don't get anywhere close as cold as we do 😄
Yes, blowing in circles takes the pressure off of just blowing directly into the rocks or mulch. The more you do it, the better you'll see how easy it moves the clippings 👍🏾
Thank you for this video! I'm new to shrub trimming and your demonstration gave me confidence. I was going to try it with loppers, but we have electric hedge trimmers, which intimidated me because I was afraid I was going to butcher the shrubs. But I'm going to try them, after watching your video. Cheers!
@@PoloFieldsLawnService I did it! It was so easy and made such a huge difference. Then I did an overgrown cedar-type bush in my backyard...looks great!
@skinnyman-rv1xi The easiest way is to use a tarp or some type of old sheet that can catch the clippings. Other ways would be to move the mulch from around the shrub, trim the shrub, and then move the mulch back around the shrub. I did a short video about this... ruclips.net/user/shortsXizgYuOAFk0?si=X8P3xqsCGi0_3lBH

Awesome, make em look good now 👌🏾
Beautiful! Do you know what type of bush this is? Looking for something like this for my home
They will also do well in the winter months, so don't worry, y'all don't get anywhere close as cold as we do 😄
@@PoloFieldsLawnService thanks for the info!! Just subscribed!
Appreciate you, I'm doing the same because I need some tips for my afro 😄😄😄
Either today or tomorrow I plan on cutting mine but they are thorn bushes. So hopefully this practice will work well for me. Thanks for this info 👍
Hello Lamar, same rules still apply. Don't cut too deep and bag those clippings with your mower. Let me know how it goes 👍🏾
Underrated video. These tips are legit.
Preciate you Drailo 💪🏾
Excellent detailed video for a beginner like me !!! Thanks Sir for sharing !!
No problem, Sophie 👍🏾
Great tutorial thanks!!!! I said use blower but didn’t know to blow in a circle.
Cheers!
You're welcome. Let me know how you do 👍🏾
@@PoloFieldsLawnService I did it! It was so easy and made such a huge difference. Then I did an overgrown cedar-type bush in my backyard...looks great!
@JL-ze5qm awesome, I knew you could do it. I'm glad that you cut everything to your satisfaction. Awesome job, JL 👏🏾
@@PoloFieldsLawnService 😁👍

Always wondered the best way to separate them. Thanks
No problem 👌🏾
Is them hedge trimmer pretty light , you did a nice job .
Yes sir, this particular one only weighs 12.6 lbs
@@PoloFieldsLawnService 👍🏽
I really could use your help on learning how to do this better. I tried it with some shrubs up near my house, I’m very crooked.
We've gotta get you together
@@PoloFieldsLawnService lol I’m studying this video

Very good job. The clean up is a job in itself. Been using a old sheet much lighter and easier for a woman. Mine still never look this nice.
A sheet would work to catch the clippings for sure. Just take it one swipe at a time. You'll get better 👍🏾
Lookin' good. What's your suggestion on cutting in a bed of mulch.
@skinnyman-rv1xi The easiest way is to use a tarp or some type of old sheet that can catch the clippings. Other ways would be to move the mulch from around the shrub, trim the shrub, and then move the mulch back around the shrub. I did a short video about this...

Thanks Nicholas, you and I are in the same boat with the tarps 💪🏾
AWSOME!! Thnx! Always wondered how trim rounding bushes was done!
No Problem Jayman 👍🏾
❤🎉thank you for all your helpful information. I'm gonna try it out.God Bless
@c.c.c.9403 You're welcome, and God bless you as well
MY BROTHER...MY BROTHER WOWW! THAT IS SOME IMPRESSIVE WORK...the blowing motion i will use...though i am decent with a tarp...those shrubs look GREAT!! CLEAN-EVEN,SMOOTH...IS THAT A STIHL you are using...seems like the better trimmers do a better job--and i guess they are very sharp??/ great work! thanks for the education!!
@TheTayedrums No problem, and yes, that is a stihl trimmer.
