Thanks Will for the info about Pickens! Greenville and Greer were amazing and loved each. I knew about Pickens being closer to the mountains, but didn't have the info on it. But your video helps tremendously! Pickens is definitely more my speed so I'm going to do my research!
Thanks for your insight on Pickens. My wife and I strongly considering retiring to the greater Greenville area. I’ve watched many of your videos keep up the resource for us all. I’m going to be on a visit to the area in early June to put boots on the ground and get the lay of the land I’m looking for an unrestricted lot. We are definitely wanting a more secluded and serene parcel in the foothills in and around Greenville on the northern side. Perhaps I’ll reach out to you shortly to discuss your insights on our wish list. Thanks again for providing an informative channel to view. Best of luck!
Your videos are the ones I watch for preparing to move upstate! I’m a Clemson grad, so I like to think of it as moving back. 😊 We enjoy visiting Pickens, and Pickens County is where I’ve narrowed down our search.
Wow-moved away 50 years ago when the population was about 5000; the same as it is today. It never really recovered from the Jimmy Charter era. Love the area. Lived off Hwy 11 on 1200 acres.
Everything Will described is accurate, Pickens has a lot to offer. I live in the Greenville area and my job takes me to Pickens quite often and I would like to share two observations. Even a small town like this is not immune to traffic congestion thanks to the population explosion that affects our state. It isn't nearly what is found in the larger towns but it has become the "new normal". The other thing is law enforcement presence. I have yet to drive through both the county and the town without seeing multiple vehicles from the SC Highway Patrol, the Sheriff's Department and the Police Department and I don't know why. Crime isn't an issue that I am aware of and Pickens doesn't have a reputation for speed traps but I see more LEOs there than I do in Greenville which is a lot larger in both size and population. Just sayin'.
Thanks ... great info. Much appreciated.
Great video!!

@@robertlight2007 woah!
Do you remember the address offhand? I'd love to be able to look at it now and see what happened to all that land over the years.
