The Brand new Numark NV Controller promises to change the game by adding two 4.3-inch full color displays above each jog wheel deck so that users can see waveforms, cue points, loops, music libraries, effects, and all the other important visual information in Serato so that DJ’s can put the laptop away for good. Check out our full video review to see how the Numark NV handles the task at hand.
Thank you for the info I just recently purchased this unit and can't wait to mix on it.
Probably the best NV review on youtube, thanks for the info!
Elvis Vegas Thank you for watching!
thanks 4 the review i just got the controller so a lot of things im still learning i know it will take some time but ill manage...thanks again
Big thanks for makin this video I’m thinkin about picking up one of these next week!!
Thanks for watching! These are still pretty good now.
just bought this controller. cant wait to watch video at home, thanks for posting this!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching it.
Just bought my NV and cant wait for it to come!!!
pro trick : watch movies at flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Terrance Grady definitely, I have been using flixzone for since november myself :D
Thanks for this useful video. Great review!
This was a great review! Thanks coming from a new NV user.
You're welcome! Thanks for tuning in!
OK friend thanks for your help and opinions, I really like your reviews and hopefully keep it, greetings
It also tells you on the screens what key the song is which I was impressed with.
save this in my watch later. am learning alot here. getting one like these for my Birthday. soon wanted to learn alot what you doing. as soon as I get mine I will be watching video alot. subscribe to ya channel. as I wanted to see any more teaching you teach..... respect!!
very useful and great review!
Very good review. I've had the unit for a couple of months and it's really fun to use. Love the screens. I've been using it with VDJ 8 and it really works well.
hey thanks man..do you know if I can use virtual dj if I wanted to on this board?
The red buttons always hurt my eyes. Always preferred Pioneer's aesthetics. Btw glad you recorded this yourself. I remember your cameraman from the DJ expo...
Nice videos man deff subbing
Hi! if you are going to choose between Reloop TM8 or NV, which one?
thx for the best rewiev....ever seen:)and understandible too...
nice demo!
Well done review. Although I use Virtual DJ with a Denon DNMC6000, I watched the whole 23 min review. I'm not interested in switching from what I use but it's still good to see what else is out there. Good choice by using regular music for the sample. Even though I didn't know the songs it was easy to follow. Too many of these DJ equipment reviews use that techno garbage that I find hard to follow. That music is already so electronic that I can't tell when they are doing an effect with the mixer or if it's already in the song. By the way. Is this unit rack mountable?
what type of laptop should I use with my numark nv plz tell somebody just starting out again thank you
Cool review. The screen is useful like you said if you have all your tracks in one folder for like an hourlong session but for someone like me who has like way over 1T of music and play for over 3 hours also have my music in different folders sorted by genres etc I think I would still have to use my computer screen. Also still prefer the bigger jog wheels and bigger pads.
When are they sending you the S8? I hope you can give us an opinion on the NV vs the S8 :) Personally I'd wait another generation for it to somehow take flash drives (i.e. like an upgraded XDJ-R1).
***** Good points. If Traktor or Serato-like software were built into controllers that could be a huge blow to CDJs, on top of Pioneer selling their DJ division to KKR recently.
Have you tried using Serato Flip for the NV? If so how is it?
Thank you Kareem for the insight on the Numark NVII.....Still not sure which controller to buy as a beginner Dj....Numark or Pioneer
It depends... They both work great!
nice presentation! i ve got it a weeh ago, download and install seroto dj onto my window 10. after few hours of running it starts to freeze up while playing and the lil window pop up saying " program is not responding" and shut down . please do you have any idea how to fix the problem?
+tous8212 I would reinstall Serato DJ and the drivers for the NV from Numarks website. See if that fixes the problem.
***** , I was waiting for Hercules to release the jogvision when I came across this review. First off I am extremely grateful for the job that you are doing. My question is, is it worth the higher price to get the nv verses the jogvision considering that I'm a beginner and eventually want to start doing gigs in the future.
Sweet review ;-)
Great review.
What other controllers are there that I could use without a laptop or CD's - any help would be appreciated :)
yes dont want to spend extra for a decend laptop to handle the software with no issues
I'm thinking of upgrading from my NV to the MCX8000 from Denon. Would you recommend this or should I look into some of the pioneer gear (which is over priced and over hyped in my opinion). The NV is fine for my smaller gigs being a mobile DJ but I do feel like I'm lacking the full professional feel and plus I have big hands which is horrible for this controller.
+Darius Woods The MCX8000 is SICK. I would definitely recommend that as a premier Mobile DJ Setup. It's almost perfect for gigs... Just note that you can't use four decks in Denon Engine mode, but you can use all four decks in Serato DJ mode or a combination of the two...
I have a problem getting Serato to my numark nv ll and I can't find it in the music library
Pioneer ddj sr or Numark NV?
just a question.. i bought this numark nv11 @ 475.00 new. due to that the DDJ-SR like 700.00 was this the was this the best way to go?
Sure! You can't go wrong either way...
Do the screens on the Numark NV show the Serato updates, Key and BPM, as well when you are searching songs?
+Tyler Choi You don't see Serato Updates, but you see Key, BPM, artist name, track name, album name...
sometimes it stop the wav form in the screens for me thank you for support
Id like to be able to prepare in serato ... export to usb and then then play from that usb when inserted into the nv. Then the laptop can go away or be used as backup incase the usb fails. I also hope that they add more info such as key to the screen maybe via a firmware update.
***** ... its still a nice unit though. I can see more controllers with screens on the near future. Could you see an all-in-one unit with screens and usb input etc in the future?
***** I do like using serato. Its the laptop ive never gotten used to. Im a vinyl head at heart really since 96 when i bought my first decks ... but went digital years back due to cost of music on vinyl and limited space. The pioneer plx 1000s look promising ... not many reviews about so i look forward to yours. Great review as always on the NV.
maybe i need more power laptop for the moment i use AMD A8 later i need intel 7 it can work better sometimes the wav audio form in the screens it stop show up but the sound it is on ways but i dont no wy the wav form it stop the show up in the screens so thank you for support and help
Would you recommend this as an upgrade from a mixtrack? is it significantly better? better jogs/pads?
+Kc Petersen Yes, everything is better than the mixtrack...
from uk..... love the review and low down on what the NV does, i'm currently using a mixtrack edge and going to be upgrading to one of these. im hoping to get a little i-net radio station on the go from the huge timber shack i've built in my back garden, for the local talent to get a jump start from bedroom to studio, i think my only worry would be the transition from using traktor to serato, i've never used any other software
You can map it,but i'm pretty sure it won't be fully functional...Go for it,serato is easy to figure out and you can do crazy stuff when you get used to it...
AK Lenox this industry is all about evolving and learning new shit right, I'm taking your advice many thanks from an old skool junglist
When I have enough money I will buy it. It's confidently.
Would you choose the Numark NV, or the Pioneer DDJ-SR? Thank you!
+I LOVE SCIENCE They are both great. The NV has the screens of course and the SR has better build quality. Other than that, they can do the same things....
what will you recommend the Numark NV Dual or the Reloop Mixon 4, trying to see what to get, thanks
I would get the NV personally.
can you plug a usb in to the controller, or how do you load the songs without the labtop?!
+Angel Achar You need a laptop for this to work...
Would you recommend this over the reloop terminal mix 8? Or is the reloop better bang for your buck?
+ayyyy4 I like them both very much. They can both do the same things at the end of the day. They are both good bangs for the buck...
Any tips on which is the best replacement fader? My originals are bleeding and I'm in dire need of a replacement. Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
+Kenroy Roberts Innofader for the crossfader, but I think you will have to use Numark regular faders for the up-faders...
Thanks bro I really appreciate your quick feedback. Keep up the good work.
And really quality screens NV is so good? And if they help much to leave on one side and forget the pc look? I ask because I have not had the chance to see her physically and compare one with another.
At first my decision was to go for the NV because I liked the idea of the screens but considering that Mexico is similar to the sx2 price'm analyzing options, construction and finishes I lean more to the sx2 besides bringing more connectivity options and can function as a standalone mixer.
And what about the sound quality on both, which is better?
Sound quality on both is the same as far as I can tell. The screens are really good and they make it so you can DJ without looking at the laptop much. You may still look at and use the laptop for somethings, but mostly you will use the screens on the NV. You can't make a wrong decision... You have to determine what means more to YOU as a DJ... Do you want the Pioneer bigger jog wheels and buttons and mixer mode, or do you want the screens more? That is a question that only you can answer.
Hi, where I live i can get the NV for 999 and currently the Tracktor Knotrol S4 is only 699 (on special). I am just starting into Dj-ing. Would like to ask your opinion on which one you would advise to get. Thanks a lot in advance!
They both work equally well, you have to decide whether you want Traktor or Serato. If you want Traktor, then the S4 is best and the NV is better for Serato. Both are good for beginners. Thanks.
Does music stay on mixer as offline play list with out laptop
Nope, you need a laptop for this...
what is the best Numark mixer? ?
hey ***** wanted some advice i know the 2 controllers im gonna mention are different on spectrum's but i dont know if i should get this the NV or go for the pioneer s1/t1 or numark ns7 ii. please help me lol great videos btw
ricardo small The s1 and t1 are a bit outdated and older now so I wouldn't get either of those. The NS7II is a beast and a lot of fun for people who want a turntable vinyl feel. The NV is good for someone who wants screens and jog wheels. Pick what you like the most...
+DJbooth DJ's. Totaly hear that. Plus the stand alone mixer and kill switches got me wanting it even more. Thanks for the feed back. Nuff love from the uk bro
Hmm, wonder how this compares too the traktor s4 mk2 since their both at the same price.
They don't really compare that well. The N4 is better if you want to use Serato and the S4 MK2 is better if you want to DJ with Traktor...
hi!! I just bought a N.nvii.. I conected to my advent laptop (using serato dj 1.9.2 software) but only one screen display my music library files however it won't scroll down or up and also won't let me select and play any track at all... and on the other screen nothing apart from a logo written N.nvii with a red background... please can you or someone that had the same experience help me out??
Not sure what is going on. Try getting the firmware update as well maybe? Check the Numark website...
I'm having a tough time deciding between this and the Pioneer DDJ SR. Does either have an edge over the other?
+Big Tim (BigTimSC) The NV has the screens but can do basically all that the DDJ-SR can do. I think the overall build quality and feel of the DDJ-SR is better though...
+DJbooth DJ's thanks for your speedy feedback.
Hello friend, I am considering buying the Numark NV OR Pioneer sx2 but my question is ...
In truth the displays of NV are so useful that fail to see the pc screen to focus more on the. Music and your audience?
Or in one or another form open end up using it with your pc?
I hope your answer because here in Mexico NV walks at about $ 860 and $ 1,000 sx2 in, and considering the benefits of sx2 that pué to connect 4 CDJs or turntables apart from its construction and more. So my question for the price of one another is not much and preferred to pay a little more for something more upscale. I hope and I think it helps
They are pretty much on the same level if you ask me. The DDJ-SX2 has the bigger pads for drumming and the additional inputs and outputs that the NV does not have, but the NV has those great screens. They are both really equal, so you must decide what is more important to you as a DJ. You can't go wrong either way.
SX2 without any doubt. If you have an iPad, get the serato remote app and that can be your screen.
What's the outro song?
Hi DJbooth DJ's. I am a Traktor EDM DJ from South America and im looking towards moving to Serato. Im looking to purchase either the NV or NVII. Are they any major differences?
No there are no MAJOR differences, but it does have a Beatgrid on the screens, and it has the ability to load the tracks using the browse button instead of the load button, and it has different color jog wheels. You can also sort music using more parameters on the screens.
+DJbooth DJ's Thanks man. I think I'll get the new one to stick to it the times. Peace.
Can this controller work with midi
are the filter and equalizer knobs metal?
+Tibo Vandemoortele I dont have this any longer, so I can't quite remember.
DJbooth DJ's - give me an advice. I want to buy this thing in about 1 month. I'm working with Traktor and VDJ, i've just installed the serato dj 1.6 but i need a controller and i don't know nothing about this software. I've just lookin' for Numark N4 - has a component that the mixer is external, Numark NV don't. Numark N4 suports traktor, vdj, serato + external mixer but hasn't the video display of NV. Numark NV suports only serato but i'm a begginner for this software. What's your advice ? I'm very receptive for somethin' new, but i don't want spend my money for something that confuses me. Waiting your response ! Thanx ! Great review !
MasterVidsHD Serato DJ is probably the easiest DJ software to use of them all. Dont' worry about it being difficult to use. The NV is better built and has more Serato DJ features than the NV. The NV is a little outdated right now, but it still works great. The NV has the screens and that's a big plus. I'd go with the NV if I had the choice...
what pc specs are needed for this sofware any 1?
How is the sound out put on the speck from the Numark NV player ?
Output is good like on any other mixer...
Output is good like on any other mixer...
Can't for the life of my decide whether to choose this controller or the Pioneer DJ DDJ-SR2 to go with Serato. Looks like the DDJ-SR2 has the ability to change the key of the music more dynamically, but the Numark NV has longer jog wheel sliders? Hmm.. choices!
Do you have a review on the Numark NVII?
No, they were too similar at the time...
@@RealDJblaze Thank you for your response. I just bought my son the Numark NVII for his B-Day because he is using the Numark Party Mix, but after seeing him throw down at Guitar Center on a pro system I had to get him something that he could get better on. Do you think that I made a good choice?
Does the power adaptor of the numArk nv works between 110-240v?? Waiting for the reply eagerly....its urgent
+Ridhima Agarwal I do not know. Check Numark website for specs...
Thanks :) I was to buy numark nv from USA and wanted to know that it would work in INDIA...and it wouldn't have the power issue
Can you fully map this to traktor? I do like the screens, and love traktor but do not want to spend over 1000 dollars for an s8.
Tayshawn Price Screens will not work with Traktor.
How do you connect it to your computer, does it work for MAC? also what software is best if you want to remix songs and make your own beats :) Thanks
USB connection and this is for DJ only... if you want to make music and remixes of music then you need a DAW... Look that up
Whats the difference of DAW and DJing
maybe in the future it is better to buy the pioneer pioneer xdj-rx i dont need the computer to play my music thank you for support and help
Will these work with windows tablet ? Like surface
Yes it will but performance may not be as good as with a laptop.
I really like numark NV has great futures & great mixer section also I like it has a emergency back connection to connect numark NDX 400 for emergency uses only also I do not like carrying a lot of dj equipment on road like no CDJ & no turntables it becomes to much of a problem carrying a lot of things I would rather go lightweight and a portable dj controller that's very good the numark NV fits my standards so yeach I would like to buy this
Can you use this controller with traktor software??
+Odair Alonso Chaves Aviles I think you can map it to work with Traktor, but the screens won't work with it...
Do you have to have the full version of serato dj?
It comes with the full version of Software DJ already...
good im gonna buy them then thanks
Hi, does it work with virtual dj ?
Yes it does.
is a good dj controler?
Which one is better numark nv or pioneer sx
They are both good, but the NV has the screens and the SX is built a bit better with bigger pads...
Thanks for the great review. This controller has a lot of great features. I really like the screens, but I wish it had additional inputs and DVS support like the DDJ-SX2. A mix of the two controllers would be an stunning controller. I am considering both controllers, but my local retailers do not have either on display to test out the features. I have been looking for a video comparison of the Numark NV and the Pioneer DDJ-SX2 to help me decide, but I cant find a good comparison anywhere. Could you please do a comparison of the two controllers? Thanks in advance!
L Satchell It sounds like you know the features of each one very well. No real need for a direct comparison as there is no correct answer for this. Pick the one that gives you the features you want the most. They are both top controllers...
Can you change the size of the wave form on the displays?
+TheAjslife Yes, you can zoom in and out to make them bigger or smaller...
+DJbooth DJ's how do you do that?
+TheAjslife the buttons near the screen!
18:15 you turn the select knob and nothing happens...
I think I will stay with my NS6! I don't like the size of the jog wheels.
i have numark nv i try to connect with rekordbox so i need mappings our drivers for i can play my controller with rekordbox thank you for support
JPnumark Pimenta This doesn't work with Rekordbox...
so later sir DJbooth i need to buy a new controller from pioneer to play with new rekordbox 2015 and so 200 pounds controller it be a great deal for i can play with rekordbox new software decks dj
thank you for support sir DJbooth
I have this exact mixer and for some reason my volume is not as loud why is that ?
Well, it won't be as loud as some more expensive DJ gear like real mixers and standalone units. They are traditionally louder than most controllers.
How do you keep the pitch the same when you have a faster or slower tempo ?
It's called Pitch or Key Lock... The software has it.
doesn't the controller have it too.....
+David “DJ FR05TY” Martinez It does ( I recently noticed ) You just have to hit the shift button and then range.
I know I'm kinda shocked that you didn't know...
How instant and accurate is the scratch on this controller? Because I've heard a lot of people say that Numark isn't that accurate and that pioneer and Vestax are most accurate for scratching. (BTW, this is your Trini brethren again. Lol)
Vestax just went out of business apparently but it did have slightly less scratch latency compared to Pioneer and Numark. Neither Pioneer nor Numark MIDI controllers were designed for old school turntablists; they're better for EDM.
Thanks for your comment.
I'm debated between Pioneer DDJ-FL6GT & NUMARK NVII Intelligent Dual-display Controller - Which should I upgrade from Pioneer DDJ-400 - I'm newbie to the DJ music - Need your honest opinion - Thanks for your support
I would take the NVII over all of those honestly.
@@kareemthedream6084 Thank-You ! Still undecided but I do like the look of the screens -
Can i use him without laptop, only with USB?
No, that is the denon mcx8000
Also what's the sound quality like? Thank you.
+I LOVE SCIENCE Sound quality is as good as any other DJ controller...
+DJbooth DJ's Thanks for your replies!!
Dope. I might sell my nS7 & replace it with this one. I don't plug any external stuff into my controller anyway. I use my Tables as T-tables & use my Cdj 2000's as there own set up as well. So its no big deal for me. Looks good. The screens really sell that machine, plus its light weight. My NS7 weighs a ton, especially with the case. Lol..
I still want an NS7 for the motorized platters because I can never quite get used to the jog wheels. However, this one has caught my attention. My MixDeck needs to be repaired and the cost would not be worth it when I could get this. The price is much as the NS6 which it reminds me of so much. I agree I am thinking of getting this.
Yes I think your right Kareem, I jus hope they do something about the weight.. That's the only thing that really does bother me. Honestly though if pioneer comes out with a version of this like the big DDj series that jus dropped. Not the SX. The newer one.. Da!mn, I Forgot the model number. Lol I'll probably get that one instead. I love pioneer products a lot. I have all there stuff. Jus got the new T.tables as well. The plx 1000's those r really dope. There Jus like my 1200 but so much btr for all the reasons us DJs have been complaining about for yrs. Anyway, thanks again for your advise on this issue & for all your full length detailed videos. They r great & highly appreciated. I personally watch them all & they r a huge help when it comes to picking up product. Keep em coming. :::)))
*****
Yeah an NS7 with screens...wow!! I wonder how much it would cost. The DDJ SZ costs about two grand. What I might do is get NV one to hold me down. Then when the NS7 with screens come out, sell it and get that. That would be the ultimate controller.
it is a nice controller
Super.. j'aime
is this still a good controller or is it still buggy?Kareem?
I don't recall having any buggy issues with this when I used it...
When you pause the song, how do you make your controller make that effect
It's called the break speed and you can set it in the software settings...
I’ve been struggling on figuring that out can you help if that’s possible
How am I able to get in the software setting just in Serato?
@@davidparedes367 There is a little gear icon at the top right corner of the software. Click that to get to the preferences...
Should I chose this over Pioneer DDJ-SX?
It's up to you to decide if these screens are worth it to you or not. If yes, then the NV, if no, then the DDJ-SX2
Can I use this controller for a club ?
Sure you can!
Question which one is better numark nv or denon mc 4000 thanks
Are you the boxer? The NV I like better because it has the screens on it... They are worth it...
Ok thanks bro
DJbooth DJ's no bro iam not the boxer lol
Denon 6000MK2?
Can this be used with Rekordbox? :) Thank you
Yes you can!
@@kareemthedream6084 Really? Wow! I would love to see a video on how to map a device like this to Rekordbox. It's too bad Pioneer doesn't have the two screens (or even one) on their more affordable devices. Thank you for your content.
@@AW-ky2in My bad, This can be used with Serato and VDJ only.
Would you recommend this over the Pioneer DDJ-SX2? I don't know what to get..
+TheL0w3R I like both of these controllers. I would do with either one...
+TheL0w3R Dont not get this controller! Has alkot of bugs and it freezes alot... the SX2 is 100times better then the NV
Ravet3ch I'll consider this! Thanks a lot :D
+TheL0w3R Don't listen to crazy talk...
+DJBooth DJ's Thanks but, I think I will get the Pioneer DDJ-SX2, I think it's better for me to have bigger performance pads than having 2 screens. Also, people would thank you if there's anyone who's interested in this controller. Bye!! :)
DOPE👍
so u cant connect more cdjs or turntables
+spraydrift1 Nope...
u were supper helpfull man, thank you so much. i just want to know the quality of the mixer on it
+Dmitry ALad Good controller mixer quality... It is mostly plastic, but it all works well. There is no standalone mixer option with this controller though.
+DJbooth DJ's do you recommend this controller
Yes, would you? im siding either with DDJ SX or this one. this one has screens and I LOVE SCREENS. but the mixer seems iffy. so please could you explain the difference between a stand alone and this mixer? thank you so much again man. i appreciate it so much
***** bro do you recommend this controller or should just get the pioneer ddj-sz controller ???
+yankee rojas I recommend both... depending what you need/want...
From whear can I buy numark nv online which ships to India
I don't know... try Google Search.
Can u send me an ebay link which ships to India
METAL, miss u wayne static :(
Would love to see you just get down on the decks and have fun, do some scratching. I like to see real DJs use these new controllers rather than just a boring feature review.
Aw man give it a shot! I'm a 1200s guy too but I know you could do a little somethin. :)
