This is the complete review video of the Numark NS6 Digital 4-deck DJ Controller. This is definitely one of the best controllers on the market with excellent faders and jog wheels that make this a complete package. I had lots of fun using this Numark Controller and I'm sure anyone else who grabs one of these will feel the same way. He's right people...Jog wheels and cue buttons are VERY accurate. Got mine this pass weekend. Confident I made the right choice for my style of mixing and budget, despite the fact that this unit made it's debut 3 or 4 years ago. Originally used Traktor (which I love) but I now use ITCH for this unit. I like ITCH paired with this unit a lot. Thanx for influencing my decision.

I agree. The NS6 is still a good unit to get your paws on. Pro sound quality, Pro volume level, Pro outputs/inputs, Pro Jog wheels, encased in a suit of armour! Still worth it 2016!!

You can use any laptop with the NS6 or 4Trak that meets the minimum specs. Go to the Numark Website to see what you need. You don't have to use it with a laptop though as they both work as standalone mixers.
Even though it is, roughly 4 years old. This controller looks and feels extremely solid!! (Tried it out at my local guitar center). Your review had me sold as well! My NS6 comes tomorrow
The curve on the up faders is not native to the board, its software adjustable. That goes for both the NS6 and NS7. Check your settings, happy mixing!
yes traktor is a mii mappable software, but karreem is right, numark 4trak is the thing for you if you wan't to use traktor (between ns6 and 4trak)
Did u know that you can get a new crossfader plate for free from Numark. Mine came within 2 days works great. Give their support a call. As u stated the distance was 2 long the new plate solves this
@RealDJblaze Yea, I've been leaing towards the NS6 because Serato is "easier" but not as "deep", which I can live with as a beginner :). What I don't like about the S4 is that when you pause, the music just cuts and as far as I know there's no way to set/adjust a pause slowdown/brake on the S4. Also you can't do a backspin on the S4. I've heard you can achieve these by tweaking some effects, but it still doesnt sound the same...
See right now I have the NS& and I am having a problem with the Line faders. It seem as if the line faders are on a curve also. Even if I turn the line faders up to half way (50% position) I still dont hear the music well. The sound does not really come in until about the 75% position. And the gain works the same way as well (as if it is on a curve. And I think this is the way the NS7 is made because I have tried three different NS7s and all are like that.
Thanks for the response! I went out and tried an s4, and the jog wheels were pretty bad and the unit just didnt look and feel as professional. Not to mention traktor isnt for everyone...I'll give numark another chance to get things right
see dude, that's how useful this video is... i just went back and checked the vid and there it is, you covered it, cross fader control on the front panel. thx again. i'm pretty much convinced this is going to be the best bang. i have read and reviewed enough. it all circles back to this ns6.
i just noticed this vid is over a year old. you still like it or have you upgraded? any complaints yet?
I went out and purchased one a lil while ago. Hope it works wells.
i got the Denon mc 6000 and a mixtrack pro and i will tell you that the mixtrack pro is SOOO sic with the new dj intro sortware! my mc 6000 is stone cold bad but i will tell you that the mixtrack with the fat platters kills the mc6000 period. I like to scratch and the mixtrack holds it down. I can only imagine that the ns6 is only better.
Great tutorial, very impormative. I just got one for my son because he likes FX. I'm an old school Dj and i agreed that Numark should come up with spinning jog/platter for the NS6, but i have my set of 1200s anywayz.Thanks for the video!
@RealDJblaze Found out wut the maddness was today.. Sync button was the issue.. to resolve the issue I just deleted the sync's. Didn't know u could delete those. Never really got a chance to hit up Numark. But all is good!!!! (Moe from Brooklyn)
I ended up taking my NS6 back. The channel faders seem as if they were on a curve and I dont like that. I like the volume to actually start working as soon as I move the channel faders not when it is positioned almost at its peak position. So frustrated because even the NS7 was the same for me. I had to take that back too. My Mixdeck doesnt do that. If you raise the channel fader you will hear the audio right away not when you get almost to the top position of peak. So frustrated.

Can u please make a video on how you setup your NS6 to the speakers? And can u use Logitech speakers?
I went to set up clicked the library tab and clicked the show all files option selected a folder with files which wasn't scanned added it in the box on the left for it to be scanned but the folder was still empty nothing was there to be scanned
strange it doesn't read anything when i add the cd files in the crate list for scanning the crate remains empty
Hey DjBlaze, thank you for your prompt reply.after taking your below advice into consideration,I viewed all infos and videos about the Numark 4trak, including you video of the unboxing :) , and apparently it's a very good machine (if only it was black).Knowing all the info I previously stated u think it's the best digital machine I can get?better then Pioneer DDj-T1,S4?

I was wondering how I can play my iTunes thru my mixer? When I bring up my iTunes it will only play thru my mac speaker and not thru my speakers like ITCH's library.
I think I am going to go out today and get the NS6. Did you have any issues like that with the NS6 when you demoD it?
Wussup Kareem, At the 5:29 makrk of this video you stated that there were curve adjustments built in the serato software for the channel/line faders. Is there any way that I could disable the curve adjustment for the channel/line faders that are built in the serato software?
haha sorry i got questions and you're the only dude on youtube with answers. lol @17:08 is it a double phaser because the other decks are paused or not running? is that 2 FX faders on one deck? sounds badass
Great Review! In your opinion which would you prefer for scratching NS6 or NS7? I tried the jog wheels and wasn't impressed. However it was on the Mixtrack Pro using Cue 7.
i Bought this controller but I am having a problem with the pitch faders. I am controlling the pitch fader on the left and the right pitch fader is also adjusting at the same time. Is this a setting? what is goin on? Really frustrating SOMEONE HELP PLEASE
I was thinking about buying one of these but can I use these with just headphones, beginner here, I don't really want to bother my neighbors since i live in an apartment
Your video really helped me out a lot thanks on VDJ on the beat grid you can set it to so you can do Doubles can you do that with this.
@RealDJblaze thanks a lot man! imma most likely go with the Denon since it is the cheaper option anyway now i just gotta worry about getting speakers. Im lookin to get a pair of JBL EON305's... do you know if i need an amplifier for those??
Question: Is the built-in soundcard a high enough quality for plug-n-play or would I need to buy a new one?
It's a tough call but I bought the DDJ SX and could still return it and wait for the NS7 2 cause I have the mixdeck but who knows how long it will ACTUALLY be. No one knows anything about the drop date and I guess I'm just going to master the DDJ SX and by that time something newer will be out? Guess I'm just looking for your thoughts... Thanks
@RealDJblaze thanks for the reply and true, well i just want a control to do mixes on and I am not bothered about traktor or serato (i am a begginer currently using virtual DJ) i like just the look of the ns6 but the effects on the s4 pluss the samples decks makes me wnat the s4!
Personal opinion, I'm looking into either the NS6 or the 4Trak for my next mixer, iv watched both your reviews. Which software do you find had the most options for on the fly remixes, Tractor Pro 2 or Serato Itch. thats the game changer for me. Thanks
So what would you personally recommend to a beginner? The NS6 with Itch 2.0 or the S4 with ProS4?

Blaze this is an excellent review. Thanks. I am considering this unit in addition to my ns7. The ns6 would simply be easier to transport. But I was wondering if I would be able to hook my ns7 into the ns6 for jam session purposes. I am thinking I could use the 2 decks on the ns6 and another dj use the decks on the ns7 for freestyle mix recording purposes. Is that possible?
how do you feel about the cross fader being so close to the platter ? this thing is tiny i love it still tho but man my hands are cramping from using new muscles
@RealDJblaze yeah im prob gonna go with the Powered JBL's to save me the hassle...With the Denon DN-6000 i want to hook up a Numark V7 turntable to it so i can use Serato with the Denon MC-6000...good Move? or should i just stick with the Traktor Software?
I guess now you can use the device as an audio interface with dj serato pro

I just got the NS6 and happy with it ! only thing i'm worried about is that the mixer is digital when used with serato or vdj. did you notice a big difference when compared to standard club analog mixers? cheers :-)

Am a new comer and after extensive research I found that Numark Ns6 is the best option for me (am a house lover and to start learning digital is easier) however I really need your help on what is best as a software for a house\techno mixing, serato or tracktor? I want to know if on the Serato Itch software, do you ALWAYS see 4 tracks available or can you choose to see ONLY 2, so that way I could see more of my music library? I really don't need 4 deck controls, but I like the size of the platters and the price compared to the Pioneer DDJ-S1. The view mode is a real deciding factor for me, looking a two empty tracks is really going to annoy me quickly if I would rarely use them.
Really want to get in to DJ'ing and I want a DJ Controller but not sure which one is best to start out on? My mate has the mixtrack pro and I'd like something similar and also around the same price but not the same controller? Could you help?

As far as 2 channel mixing goes, in a heads up battle, which is the better controller in your opinion, the DDJ-S1 or the NS6? I like the 4 deck control capability (even though I might not mix 4 channels right away but eventually after purchasing) and construction material of the NS6 compared to the mostly plastic construction of the DDJ-S1.

hey so did you lose the loop when you hit that button again @15:28 after chopping it down? i saw the light disappear... how do you get back to the track once you store a loop? it looked like you started and finished a loop and it kept playing the loop til you exited

I have a question, i don't have enough money for a macbook pro, so i was thinking of getting an HP instead, The specs are (2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M Processor (2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz). and 8GB Ram. Do you think that is sufficient, please reply asap.

@RealDJblaze yeah man i can't figure out which controller to get but if you had to decide between the Denon MC6000,, the S4 or the NS6 which would you personally take? To be honest im starting to lean towards the S4. i just need something to perform well for my summer gigs...
Based on what you were saying about the line faders on the nS6 it seem it will operate the same way as the NS7 line faders. Just dont know what to do. I might try the NS6 and see if it is different but like I said based on the 5:29 mark in your video it seems as if the NS6 will be the same way. I just want the line faders to work normally without the curve. And I cant keep them set a 1 position because all the songs are not the same volume. Any suggestions.

@ kareem julien .. I have my vci 300 in the shop due too short in cross fader. as you stated .the faders on this unit is more tuff..correct? and idk if you ever used the vci 300 but far as platters..this unit response better or the same? thanks again

Would i be able to plug this controler into a mixer because i sometimes have singers who perform for me at gigs and they use wireless mics so i would need to operate the mixer or would it be possible to use the wireless mics through the controller?

DJ Blaze, with your testing of the ns6, did you ever have your jog wheel stop responding to your touch? If you look at my channel, I have a video of this problem. Ive already sent it to numark to get fixed once, and now they want me to send it back again. If you could get ANY midi controller instead of the ns6, what would you choose?

Hi Melvin, Watched a lot of your vids before making a purchase. Ordered NS6 yesterday, I have always been a Pioneer and Denon user when I was a club D.J. back in the day, but I recently was talked into coming out of retirement a lil bit and wanted to Use a PC for the first time when mixing. While I am waiting to get the NS6 I was wondering can you tell me if the effects can be applied to the Mic like some of the Pioneer mixers do? Thanks for the vids helped make a pricey decision.
