A heritage dish from the Armenian residents of Istanbul (Bolsohays) during Ottoman times and has been since a staple in nostalgic taverns (meyhane) in Istanbul. Originally made during the lent by the Istanbul Armenians, it has quickly became a popular mezze in Istanbul taverns, to accompany raki tables.
Thank you so much. This brought back fond memories of growing up in Istanbul and watching Mom, Grandmother and Aunt preparing Topik for the December 31st gathering with friends and family. You rock🇨🇦👏👏👏
He certainly does rock!👍😂 He has the best videos ever. Very well prepared and explained without annoying talk. Just beautiful classical music in the background. He is very knowledgeable in other than Turkish cookings and he actually does it much better then the ones (Cooks/Chefs)in the neighboring countries. By the way, being Western Armenian, I have never seen this particular dish.🤷♂️
