  • While working on a 2008 Harley Davidson Street Glide, I stumbled across a problem. The front turn signals, nor the rear turn signals worked. I had no function from the buttons on the handle bars. The fog lights wouldn’t come on, and the turn signal indicators in the back of the bike remained lit, even with the bike off. I figured that it had to do something with the stock wiring. I checked every wire in the bike, and check all fuses. Everything was good. So after doing a bunch of research online, I found a forum and a person on there had the same problem with his bike, in which he replaced the TSM module. After calling a bunch of dealerships, I found a dealership a hour away from me that had a couple in stock. Got the new one, and put it in, and now everything functions as it should. Hope this helps anyone with this same problem on there bike!!💯💯💯

    Does it have the security feature? I need to change mine but I heard when it’s a TSSM it is harder to remove due to it being a security module as well? Or are they all just plug and play. I need to replace mine. Right signal doesn’t work, but button works fine. Have a code on dash P/N is the same one you purchased

      So this one is just the basic TSM without the security. So it was wasn’t any programing that I had to do. Just swapped the old one with the new one, and everything worked. Now if you do have the one with the security feature built in, then it will have to go to the dealership to be programmed. And then at that, harley might even pit the newest TSSM module on your bike.

      Hello!! Hope all is well!!! Oh ok cool. Yes, just change out the TSM module and all lights should go back to normal. I didn’t have to do any programming after I replaced the TSM. All lights worked as they should.

      @@Caesar_Mahomes26 One questions, Did you replace TSM or TSSM?? I have TSSM in my HD, and I am thinking to replace TSSM for TSM. Is Possible??

    • @Caesar_Mahomes26
      @Caesar_Mahomes26  6 месяцев назад +2

      @jcramone5713 So this bike doesn’t have a security system on it. This is just for the turn signal module itself. Now if he wanted the turn signal security module, he would have to go to the dealer and they would have to install it. But luckily I was able to find another module, so everything is back to normal with his bike.

    I’m looking to get a smart security system on my 2012 Road King FLHP Police. Is that module replacement all I have to switch other than getting the computer flashed by the dealership?

    Dang. My son inherited my 2008 Road Glide and so far so good but I have been wondering when that TSSM is gonna go. I am sure it's just a matter of time for these modules (on any vehicle that uses modules for that matter) to fail. Sucks the HD ones for this year are unavailable. That doesn't even make sense really. Making them unavailable presumably at the expected end of their "lifespan" is mind boggling. And frustrating.

    • @Caesar_Mahomes26

      Yes it is! And thats how I was when I was doing the audio install on this bike. I know I hadn’t messed up anything on the bike as far as wiring for the lights, so I was very confused to why the lights started acting crazy. And then to troubleshoot everything to find out it was that module🤦🏾‍♂️. Then to further more find out that they dont even make them anymore really pissed me off. Cause the only way to even get another module for the bike, the owner would have to take it to the dealer for them to install the newer modules that come on the newer bikes, which is more money. Luckily I did some research and was able to find one for this bike.

      Hey, I'm from Canada, and I believe I'm having tssm problems. Bought a used 07 electra glide ultra classic and for 7000 kms I had no issues. Then first my speakers stopped working. Then, one ride, I lost my headlights and signals. I also lost my starter button.
      I over rode the starter now with a button directly on the starter. I found the battery fuse was blown. I removed the faring and cleaned and lubed all the plugs with dielectric grease and found one large plug was causing the battery fuse to blow. I don't understand how cleaning and lube has fixed the signals but I'll take the win. I can't find any issues with the lights or starter, i.e., no chaffed wires. When I reset the light fuse as soon as I start the bike the fuse blows again. I've replaced starter relay and cleaned and lubed all fuses in the fuse box. If I directly power from positive post to starter, I can hear relay clicking. That same green wire on starter is really dim when I check it with a test light.
      It has a new battery and the guage shows 14.5 when running. I'm thinking of pulling out the tssm and esm to clean and lube. I'm worried it might need to be programmed after if I do this, though. Do you have any thoughts on this?
      Also, if it needs a new tssm, can I remove and take it to the stealership for testing or should I send it to the place you know that can jailbreak and reprogram the tssm?
      I've also found 15 amp mini circuit breakers on amazon so I can test everything without constantly replacing fuses.
      I'm looking for any help if possible? 6:54 6:54 6:54 6:54

      @66forsure The same problems that you are having is basically the same thing I went through with this bike. Turn signals wouldn’t work, bike wouldn’t start. So if you have a regular TSM, you can def replace it without having to take it to the dealership, because it doesn’t have the security feature built into it. Now if you do have a TSSM with the security feature built into it, then you will have to take it to the stealership lol, to have it programmed to your bike. But its def probably that TSM module that has gone bad.

    Did you have to reprogram the unit for your fob?

    • @Caesar_Mahomes26
      @Caesar_Mahomes26  3 месяца назад

      If you have the regular TSM without the security built in, you dont have a fob. So you wont to program anything. Just swap the old one for the new one. Now if you do have the TSSM which is the module with the built in security and comes with the fob, you will have to take it to the dealer for it to be synced to the ECM.

    • @Caesar_Mahomes26
      @Caesar_Mahomes26  3 месяца назад

      This bike that I was working on was a 2007. It really all depends on if you have a regular TSM without the security feature. Or if you have the one with it. The one without it is plug and play. The one with it has to be programmed to the bike by the dealer.

    • @Caesar_Mahomes26
      @Caesar_Mahomes26  3 месяца назад

      Yea thats for all of them. I was told that any old bike that goes to the harley dealership, gets the original TSM taken off, and they install the newer TSSM module. They do this because the harley dealerships knows that harley doesnt make the regular TSM’s anymore. You might luck up on ebay though. I just saw some on there the other day.

      @@Caesar_Mahomes26 yeah I asked at my local dealership and they said there's a plug and play unit that'll work but I'll have to update the ignition module as well for it to work, and here where I am that's round $1,200 exercise.....so that's a very last resort...lol

    • @Caesar_Mahomes26
      @Caesar_Mahomes26  3 месяца назад

      Oh hell no lol. Def try out ebay. As long as the part number matches the one you have on your bike now, and if its the basic TSM module, it will def work without having to go to the dealership. Thats what worked for me on this bike.
