GANG, Lemme know how you enjoy the longer videos. Also don’t forget to follow Bob on instagram! @Bobprice
mas mahaba, mas maganda!
Enjoy any video you put out. Always full of great info & fun stuff! Love it.
Friend of mine about two years ago walked into a Thrift store in Minnesota, was just, casually looking for a point and shoot for a trip, came across a Leica hard case for $35, opened it and inside was two M4s and four lenses. he then saw a soft Leica bag and found a M6, with two more lenses, that was $20. $55 and some change....the man has three M bodies and seven lenses. I don't know man. They're out there.
That would be like winning the lottery!
I wish I didn't know that
After that song came out, Polaroid released a statement telling users to not shake it like a Polaroid picture. You’re supposed to just leave it in a dark place to develop.
Yup, shaking them can blur them slightly
My thrift stores are garbage lol how tf do they have all that? 😭😭😭
Go to a rich area.
Yessss finally another thrift store episode :D
i agree 100% on the fact that photos that are printed take on a whole new life, both positively and negatively too. sometimes printing a photo will make you realize that the photo doesn't work either colors or compositions... and other times it can take a seemingly mediocre photo and push it to the awesome level.
one of my life goals is to have a series of photos enlarged in a darkroom but having only very recently gotten back into photography i need to shoot a lot and get rid of the 15 years of rust before i can start taking that next step.
Btw your never supposed to shake a Polaroid the picture will mess up
your videos always have very low speaking volume and very high music volume. it's very difficult having to turn my volume up to hear you talk and then getting blasted by super loud music :(
yes
I love the camera hunting terugtrok store vids. You’re the only RUclips Thatcher does them well and I always want for these vids! Keep up the great work man!
Agree on the print your photos thing. That's why I love working in the darkroom so much. Having a physical copy is much more satisfying than flipping through your phone/computer to show photos.
Physical media in general is way better, in my opinion
I used to get prints but then it was really hard to post it on social medias since I don't have a scanner
also having photo albums to look back at are so cool
After OutKast dropped that song Polaroid released a statement saying that shaking Polaroids while they’re developing could actually damage your pictures
wow this is exactly what i did all those years in long beach ca but never thought of recording my routines this is so cool!
you are so dope idol, learning so much from you! keep the vids coming my guy
this def inspiring me to print my stuff out and tape it to my walls
I relate to you heavy on the lbc boxes and thank you for pushing me to print my photos I will do so! Thank you and God bless!
Oh my goodness I’d never leave that thrift shop! Stg! 😍
Loveee the thrift episodes!
The prints in your Portfolio look awesome!
As a Filipino, I agree with the bins of random stuff lol
I enjoy your videos even though i'm working on my shift. Always watching your tips on film photography.
And yea, thanks for the inspiration to shoot more and more.
I usually do abstract painting, but sometimes i also shoot with my phone, 100f and now my film cameras.
I might go to nearest printing shop and print some of my shots.
Take care always dude! 🤙🏽🇵🇭
I feel you on the LBC boxes😂😂😂
That bottle of "UFC Ketchup" FTW! lol 🤣
hell yeah back to thrifting
I just started shooting instanx and have become so obessessed that I sold a load of unused gear to get the Instantkon RF70. It arrives in a few days. It's my gateway to prinitng until I can get a printer etc.
Hi, I picked up a Minolta XG-M with a 50 mm @ 1.4 yesterday on a lark because I wanted to play with film, which I haven’t done in years. Came across your site recommended by Matt Day. It’s a great find, your site, and I enjoyed the video. Keep up the great work !
Your print of the sea birds is superb 👍
The thrift stores in my area have caught onto the value of cameras and are now auctioning them off (eBay- style). The online classifieds have some great deals. I just picked up a great Canon FDn 50mm f1.4 for $50 CAD ($35USD). I just missed out on getting a nice Contax III rangefinder for $20. FML, I didn't reply to the seller fast enough.
everyone in the country I live in either use a local eBay like site or go to a local chain that does pawning and stuff, second hand stores here don't have a whole lot in general, and some are picky with what they'll sell.
Exactly! The prices at my local thrift stores here in Los Angeles have prices higher than the used market. Flea markets in Pasadena / Melrose have prices marked up as well, makes the cost higher than eBay or Keh.
I enjoy this content bro!
i need to start printing my favorite photos.
Person and Pelicans- looks great!
killin me with the double sided tape!
a longer video going in depth on printing would be awesome!
Love it man, good stuff as always! Just a note - the quietness of your dialogue paired with the extra loud music makes it difficult to get through.
I agree! those photos look so great! specially that Tree ... magical! and yeah, I'm so curios about your origins man ... are from Ilocos or saan ba? hehe I'm sorry for asking. Can't wait for you to reach the 100k mark and over. Keep creating good contents Jonathan. I really love your work and style.
This was a great video and thanks
Finally a filipino vlogger i can watch lol
Doooope!
If you have a rice dispenser your getting rid of let me know 😩
I'll be in San Jose soon this fall to attend school, it be cool to thrift with KingJvpes/Jon!
Print print print. I miss my old Pixma Pro-10 that I had to give up when moving to NYC. I now have a Epson Picturemate PM-400 that can do 5x7. Not as great but still great to make a print.
Dude this is so much easier in USA, in England there is no way of finding a good 35mm under £100, and forget about medium formats.
I got an ME Super from England for £50 buy it now with an f1.7 lens. It works great so far. Take a chance on a cheaper one that says not film tested and remember all 35mm slrs are much the same.
Facebook Marketplace my man.
Not even in most states in America... smh misleading
Yup, good luck getting anything in Canada, period. Used stores never have anything and if it's there, it's hundreds of dollars
carbooth
I literally came back from the thrift and got a minolta srT101 coincidence I think not
My wife’s grandma just gave me a Minolta srT200 she’s had from forever ago!
Another great vid man. Can we talk about how much louder the music is than voice though?
yo bro i got a question where do u store finished films or exposed films since i cant process them atm (quarantine) thanks for the reply 😁
You got one fan here
whaaaa!!!! i got my olympus trip md3 at that same place!!!!
I think I saw my panorama camera in that bin!
Great Video!
I love these videos and I really want to do it in my city but all the thrift stores are “vintage aesthetic” clothing stores
Most thrift stores in my area sell all the best stuff online for not much less than camera shops
The best thrift store or estate sale find I've had was a final run Zeiss contarex super. I was at an estate sale in central park south and I saw a camera listed as "does not work - $25". I didn't even bargain. I paid in full, went back home, and found it to be almost completely unused and still working. I made a video about the camera and its lens on my channel. I love the camera, but I also know that using it or even looking at it the wrong way, could make everything go sproing... But the rarity of this camera ranks as my best purchase.
In ur state it’s super easy finding theses, in Canada you’d be super lucky to find a 35mm that works, most of them are all broken in all types of ways
With you on printing your work,
Damn his thrift stores are actually open???
I know this is an old video but I work as a graphic designer and photographer who works close with framing and they have anti glare acrylic specifically to get rid of that glare back that people usually have issues with
That time when I found a Pentax k1000 Japanese version IN SF for like $20 with 50mm lens. Adolph glasser? Had em for a couple hundred.... that was in 2003 ish.
YESSSIIRRRRR
YES SIR
Which app do you use to print with the pixma pro 10 ?
Good stuff mannnn! Wanna ask, what would you recommend to buy for a beginner printer and paper?
Honestly man, printing from a third party source would be much cheaper in the beginning!
thats banana. ketchup tho 😂
What kind of printer do you use or suggest for printing your own work?
You never had to shake Polaroid pictures. The only shaking that did anything was with peel apart film to get airflow over it after it drying. Shaking to mix chemicals is a fallacy.
If I'm wrong please correct me.
I lucked out today. Bought a nice A-1 with a FDn 50mm f1.8, a FDn 100-300mm f5.6, a 2x teleconverter, & a bunch of filters for $100CAD ($75USD). I also got an AE-1 with a FD 50mm f1.8 for $50CAD ($37USD). Everything works great, including the display on the A-1.
wanna visit the USA just for thrifting 😹✌️
thrift stores are only good in big cities here
@@matthewtomczyk the hood is the best spot, I live in north Long Beach near compton you can get 35 mil cameras for lik 95 cents, but when you go to cal heights which is a rich area, them is like 40 buccs
Are you using the Canon inks or third party for your Pixma Pro-10?
I got my Nikon FE at a thrift store for $6. It's my daily shooter.
Hi there! What's your printer? Nice printed photos
Ahahshdhs I love thrifting videos
what printer are you using ?
Ohh shit.. i see your UFC Banana Ketchup 👍🤘
What’s a good printer for photos?
what kind of paper are you printing on my guy ?
I don't get why they say film camera is not dope. It reminds me of taking your time and focus what's important just like life
What model printer is that?
I am never going to able to find those thrift shop
Dude i go to that thrift store all the time! Small world
Glossy paper does make the colors pop.
Nice guy that Bob
my garage is full of LBC boxes 😂
Can you do a tutorial about minolta hi matic 11 and minolta hi matic af???
Damn, may have just inspired me to get a Canon PRO 100 PIXMA.
I had looked into it but damn printing is expensive and weird if the monitor is to bright. I’m not sure how he does it.
Is that a Canon Pro-10 printer?
I wonder if you own an USSR camera and lenses like Helios 44-2?
We want a instax wide Video! 🤙
I got a wide 210 for $5, but I didn't love it. I like the design on it more than the 300, but framing with that thing was not good. Nothing will ever beat the 500AF.
Oh, how I wish we had thrift stores ....
I have the same printer as you. Got it new off CL for $100
What thrift store was this? Is this in california?
I'm ashamed, I haven't used my nstax 210 for a year !!! :(
Thrift stores in my area (France) are just full of crap, and prices are so expensive ! (maybe i'm not lucky)
Much the same here in the UK, they seem to focus on clothes and don't bother with anything else, they are also very small.
I luv wide film
I luv the wide camera i have it
Ya new video
damn.. alright then
Printing is also easier than printing a bunch when you need/want.
What thrift store. is that?
I'm pretty sure the "shake it like a polaroid" was just the song. It's not how they mixed the chemicals back then.
Ricardo Jose yeah you’re right. Polaroid said after the song not to shake it haha
Peter Gault people used to shake peel apart film back in the day though.
@@_lowcountry yes, but only after peeling it apart to get airflow over the still wet print.
Gregory Veizades I’m aware, just stating where the misconception came from lol
You have never ever shaked the Polaroid sx-70 or 600 film. The only Polaroids that you could shake was the old peal-apart film. Also, you don’t need to cover instax from the sun. It’s only the new Polaroid film you need to be careful with.
Cheers.
Pinoy ka pala boss Jvpes?! Eyy.
Is this the same guy from the Price is Right?
WHAT EPSON PAPER!!! FOR HOW MUCH?? DID YOU SAY $5.00 Good Video....
every filipino moments at 13:39
I'm pretty sure you weren't supposed to shake Polaroids, even back in the day. It was mostly a misunderstanding that shaking it made it appear faster and dry
The misunderstanding comes from the transition from peel apart Polaroid film to integral film that we know today. After peeling apart the package one could gently shake it to get airflow over it to get the still wet surface to dry a bit faster. But you are correct shaking it was never necessary. Especially not to mix chemical.
a vhs vlog????
