Congrats with your Cameras and books. The Canon EOS 630 was named Canon EOS 600 in Europe. I have the Olympus OM-1 which is a good but not great Camera, if shooting color slide film, then the images can get overexposed when using 1/500 and 1/1000 shutter time because the shutter in OM-1 is a bit weak, I think the best Olympus analog SLR is the OM-2 Spot/Program. global.canon/en/c-museum/product/film131.html
With the vintage manual focus camera bodies, it’s best to check the infinity focus against the split image alignment. Often times the cameras need to be calibrated (generally the issue has something to do with the mirror position). It may be a good idea to bring lenses with different mounts with you for camera testing purposes, in case the body doesn’t come with a lens. The OM4T is a great find! Make sure it does not have battery drain issue. I think the earlier OM4 had this issue and Olympus fixed it on the later models, like the T. Check the focus accuracy though.
During covid, did an online auction and won a lot of photography items. Could see a Minolta light meter, so bid up to that’s worth. When I received the big box in the mail, was slightly bummed out. The Minolta meter was a dud, but carried on opening everything. Hidden in a plastic tub was a mint contax G2 and three lenses. Perfect working condition, lenses were mint. Was a good time!
Last year, I found a black OM-1 in a red bag with a couple of lenses, Sekonic LM, and auto-winder, all for $10 at my local Savers. I don't think the pickers even looked in the bag! I do need to get it CLA'd, but I got really excited nonetheless! I was aware of Olympus, but didn't know much about the OM-1 until after doing some post-purchase research. That's why I yelled at the screen when I saw you find an OM-4T, and for $100!!!
No disrespect, You make some GREAT videos. But, Man, I was about to hate on this video. Then I started watching it and was like, alright. What a GREAT haul. $50.00 bucks at a thrift store sound normal now days. Because ppl are getting wise, and prices are going up.
Great find on those Olympus bodies, the Polaroid and books. Reminds me of when I got my OM1 and OM4 from pawn shops in the nineties for great deals, even back then. I would have checked out that other Polaroid Land next to that Kirkland film also. Cape Light, is a well known classic in color photography. You scored big with that Doisneau and the Bressons too. Great to see awesome book finds for unimaginable deals too!
I've been searching for the SureShot Autoboy (II) for years at a thrift - can't justify spending 80-100 when I know they're out there! Good find, cheers!
The light for the lcd on the 630 causes battery drain, and the shutter stick causes a bad exposure randomly. Both are easy fixes. Cut the wire for the lcd and clean the shutter with alcohol.
You were lucky on that OM-4T. I bought my OM-4Ti on ebay and paid $500 for it and it is super minty. I love this camera, it is one of my favorites. The spot metering on it is awesome! And yes please make a video on it!
I've had several Olympus OM cameras, I love the format with the shutter speed on the lens mount, and also with a 50mm lens they are similar or even smaller size than most fixed lens range finders, but with the advantage of a full pro level system of lenses and options.
@@KingJvpes I like the OM-2 bodies, they have a quick switch between auto and manual, and you can get a few different versions like the OM-2s which is spot meter.
You always inspire me to try thrifting! Then I try and it’s not as easy as it seems 😂 I’m new to film photography and still learning. I’m sure that makes the difference! Congrats on the haul…
I am sure you will enjoy your olympus slrs. I was not that keen on olympus until I bought an OM2n with a 50mm zuiko. This is now my favourite 35mm camera - I have at least 1 Nikon Minolta Pentax Contax Canon and a few others besides - keep going with the thrift hauls!
Great job getting the photo books and the Olympus OM4T. Look forward to the next bi - weekly installment. Sadly no such thing as thrift shops where I live.
Wonderful finds! Is that how you’d shoot expired film? I have an entire box of expired film, what’s the best way to shoot them?? Is it worth keeping?? 😅
09:15 which model chrome bag are you using? looks like a good size, is it a camera bag model? Thanks. Congratulations on your finds, was a pleasure to watch!
I had one big win once. I got a Leica Noctilux for 20.- Now I did not know there was one amongst the lenses I had bought in a Lot. I wanted to reach out to the guy who sold it to me but he had no idea about cameras. He just bought a huge amount of old stuff, not just cameras, and was selling all of it separately or in smaller Lots.
Great video! I am now a new subscriber. You caught my attention with your cinematography and the thrift camera content. I stayed when I noticed that you're local to my area and Filipino! (I'm half Filipino.) You had me laughing with your comment about haggling like a Filipino. My mom is a great haggler...I am not :) . Keep up the great content.
Man I should have hit you up Jonathan! I was living in San Jose for two years for college at SJSU. Just moved back home to Orange county. Looks like you were at berryessa flea market?
Wow you got a great deal! I love this channel a lot. What is your advice on getting the cheapest cameras? Photography is quite expensive, but there are no thrift stores in my region, so what is your advice?
My advice would be to ask your friends and family first! You'd be surprised at how many cameras people either forgot about or just don't use anymore :) Next step would be thrift stores and garage sales!
Thank you very much for your reply, I will try that! I bought a Canon A1 because I watched your old video and I got inspired to start shooting film again. I am still on my first roll, I hope they turn out good. 😊
GANG! Subscribe and like for weekly thrift videos and follow me on my Instagram @kingjvpes where I plan to giveaway 1 film camera every month!! 🙏🏽

I recently had a big win as well. Won an auction, about $2000 worth of Pentax gear, lenses, accessories etc for $550 👌🏽
I recently got some old digital and 5 film cameras from someone in only 3k rupee about 10$ 2 polaroids too
Nice 👍🏽
Wow! Best $200 you ever spent. Well done (especially on the OMs and the books).
I always enjoy watching your thrift vlogs im a ofw working in kuwait and im starting to learn shooting with film now. Mabuhay sayo lods!!

Loved it! Lusting for the OM4T-what a find!
Love the videos, recently got my first film camera, a Pentax K1000 and a few lenses and have been learning film photography.

I'm so jealous of the Olympus OM4T. Such a steal.

I scored my OM1 with 50mm f3.5 for £10 from a car boot sale a few years ago.

the way i laughed at "how to haggle like a filipino"
I love these camera shopping trips, I haven't done any for awhile and I need to get back at it.
Watching this is like time travel. Can’t find anything anywhere close to these cameras and price these days at thrift stores - always eBay prices.
I've been searching for the SureShot Autoboy (II) for years at a thrift - can't justify spending 80-100 when I know they're out there! Good find, cheers!
Really cool finds! Enjoy the new cameras 🤩🙌
What a steal. Inspiring me to give thrifting another shot, I've just never had any luck. Maybe I gotta try different days of the week.
Just spent a bunch of time finding that Chrome sling!!
respect the tawad haha... great finds...
Those canon sure shots take such sick pictures. One of my favorite cameras ever.
Awesome I did some camera thrifting earlier in the week and I Minolta mx-g with two lines for about $75.
I have the same 2 OM's. These and my Pentax Spotmatic F are by far my favorite cameras to shoot. I wish I could deals like this where I live.
I have a tiny little RC that I love shooting with.. Olympus made great film cameras.. I love watching your thrift videos :).
The light for the lcd on the 630 causes battery drain, and the shutter stick causes a bad exposure randomly. Both are easy fixes. Cut the wire for the lcd and clean the shutter with alcohol.

Looks like your persistence paid off very well. Admirable.
We moved from SDG to southern Indiana. Zero, none, no cameras to thrift around here. I'll have to drive up to Indy. The OM- 4TI is a great score.
I've had several Olympus OM cameras, I love the format with the shutter speed on the lens mount, and also with a 50mm lens they are similar or even smaller size than most fixed lens range finders, but with the advantage of a full pro level system of lenses and options.
What's your favorite OM body? Completely agree these cameras to me are the "Leica" of SLR's!
@@KingJvpes I like the OM-2 bodies, they have a quick switch between auto and manual, and you can get a few different versions like the OM-2s which is spot meter.
LMAO that DU MA caught me off guard lmaooo
I heard it as well....lol. Wasn't expecting it.
How else you gonna know he's in SJ lol

You always inspire me to try thrifting! Then I try and it’s not as easy as it seems 😂 I’m new to film photography and still learning. I’m sure that makes the difference! Congrats on the haul…

Ayooo back with the thrifting 🎉 I was wondering when you will release the next thrifting heat!
Coming back to the channel weekly 🙏🏽
I am sure you will enjoy your olympus slrs. I was not that keen on olympus until I bought an OM2n with a 50mm zuiko. This is now my favourite 35mm camera - I have at least 1 Nikon Minolta Pentax Contax Canon and a few others besides - keep going with the thrift hauls!
That Vivitar SLR you passed on is Pentax K-mount, I believe.
Thrift vids are always a treat! Great finds.
man out of all the Film Cameras i bought i fell in love with My minolta x700 and my Yaschica eletcro gx35 RangeFinder Camera the only 2 i really use
Great job getting the photo books and the Olympus OM4T. Look forward to the next bi - weekly installment. Sadly no such thing as thrift shops where I live.
Nice finds! I wish I had video of all my craziest finds. I share pictures online sometimes and people have accused me of lying lol
Loved this!! So fun to see how the general public values film and film cameras vs the internet 😂
You've inspired me to use my Canon 630. I don't know why I stopped using it.
I have 3 of those EOS 600/630 cameras they are so dope. Like so undervalued
It takes any EF lens, it has autofocus, it has a servo autofocus that shoots 5 frames a second. It’s absolutely a beast. I shoot weddings with them.
That guys said $180 at first for the OM !!! Then he said "I told you $130.." Then you offered him $100...and he took it, WOW !!! lol.
That camera is like $300 on ebay.
Capitol flea market and savers had some good film cameras that so cheap
I NEED BROS HAGLING SKILLS - nice finds tho man
You're getting me excited for the Spring garage sale season...

Крепкого здоровья и скорейшего восстановления! 🫂
And this was uploaded on my birthday.
I love thrifting. I haven’t been in a while
brill mate from the uk
The thrift stores in my city could never
Can never seem to find thrift stores that actually sell film cameras 😩 Do you prefer flea markets over thrifts stores for film gear?
Kirkland Film is crazy lol
Ohh damn dude I didn't know you were from SJ. I think we met before at one point.
I was gatekeeping the flea market 😔 jk glad you got some good pickups
