Aside from love for watches & guitars, photography always had a special place in my heart. I dusted off a Leica M3 I've had for many years, and I had a feeling one day it would grow in value, so I had to make sure.
I visited the Leica store in Miami and had a wonderful time talking to Josh Lehrer about determining if my camera is even REAL, been used before, and it WORTH.

As someone who worked at Leica it is always cool to see other people adoring Leica.
We have one of the original Kodak’s from my late uncle who was an avid collector and traveler. It’s got the coolest mechanisms and even a secret button. Really amazing stuff.
Vintage cameras are excellent both to collect and use. I currently have a Hasselblad 500c built in 1966 that has been bulletproof. Ran a number of black and white rolls through it and will be shooting more colour film soon. Hope to get a Leica in the future.
Thank you for this interesting video on the M3. Could it be that this was a double stroke converted to a single stroke? Is there a way to tell if there was a conversion?

A wonderful and valuable find! Any chance to auction it for the benefit of war photographers? In sense of Lux et Veritas.
I have collected somewhat between 60 and 70 vintage analog cameras and a lot of lenses over the past years - no Leica rangefinders or Hasselblads, though. Today they are at least double, maybe even thrice worth of what I have paid for them, so to me, not a bad investment.
Comfortably 10k, at a specialist auction probably $30-50k. There are a lot of people that want an M3 in their collection, and this is possibly a once in a lifetime chance to get one in perfect mint condition. No doubt that 2 wealthy collectors would go into an auction with an 'I'm buying this no matter what' attitude and the bidding would go mental.

There are platform where you can invest and they trade your money. Then pay you profit either weekly or monthly. That's investing.
Trading with an expert is the best strategy for newbies and busy investors who have little or no time to monitor trade

If you invested the same 400$ in 1950s in the SNP, it would be worth double the price of the LICA at 24k, at an estimated 6% annual compound rate. 🤔

4:02 clearly shows some sort of damage on the black material just right under the lens ring - granted it had the black seal. Strange

My 1948 Argus C3 to me is priceless! This camera has a prominent place in my display case, a simple common camera, inexpensive but built in Ann Arbor Michigan, where I was born in 1957, and my father was one of the electrical engineers who work on the camera for Argus Camera.

It’s strange how people talk about all the profits, they have been making through trading of crypto, while am here making huge losses. Please can someone put me through on the right path or at least advise me on what strategy to follow.
That’s true, most people today have been having a lot of failure in forex and crypto trading sector because of poor orientation and bad experts.
Investing or trading with an expert is the best strategy for newbies and busy investors who have little or no time to monitor their trades.... I will advice you to stop trading on your own it’s very risky. Seek advice of a professional trader.

I know next to nothing about cameras, but that won't stop me pontificating.
It would be like investing in vintage telephones. They are technology-based, and so by definition, are demonstrably worse as the years pass. You could argue that cars are similar, but they are not, because of the sex appeal. Old computers would be a more reasonable proxy.

Sir, you obviously don't need thirty thousand for that camera. Thirty photos done right by you could be sold for 300,000 dollars. If I were your I'd leave that store with a case of film load that baby up and USE it! What a waste of a good camera if you don't put 5 thousand frame through it. You deserve it. Live

We drove a black Oldsmobile in The Netherlands in 1955 and have
always used cameras made in Germmany, Sweden and Switserland.

Optical industries can be found all over Germany from
Görlitz, Rathenow, Jena, Wetzlar, Keuznach to Munich.
Films were made in Germany, Belgium, England, France, Italy and U.S.A.

So in 1960, the purchasing power of $400 is about $4,000. So in 60 years the camera has technically increased in value 3 times. I'd rather bet on a Pokemon card from the 90's. Or just buy Bitcoin.

even I have better things, but I am not into cameras. 12k for a rich guy, well that'his toilet paper probably thicker than mine, but he acts like a kid when its jus t a penny for him. Disgusting how they treat poor people, making a big deal out of something that is not for him. Sure not.
A well rehearsed piece of theatre, but Mr. Wonderful is a very poor actor. Suffice it to say that Leica Miami has an unused 1960 Leica M3 set on offer and wants to get as much money as possible for it. The whole comedy around this is very lame.
