Please, share your thoughts on this video as this is kind of a new format 🙂
I really enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Thats great to hear! Thanks so much for checking!
Very good intro, informative, snappy and entertaining. Great job!
Please show camera shop inventory not people crossing the street
Amazing video. Loved the cinematic b-roll
Cheers man!
I always say Japan is organized chaos.. I love it..
Haha, good one!
Nice video. Great music which was not too loud either. Thank you.
RS. Canada
Cheers man!
Cool video, Japan is on my ‘to do list’ for sure! The vibe seems so different then in Europe/America
Absolutely man. Its in no way the same as EU or USA, haha.
I love the format dude !
Cheers man!
Very nice, man. That’s a lifetime experience! Must’ve been very tempting to go to that camera store!!! Love that lens 💯🙌👊
Thanks brother! It was for sure. SUCH an amazing (strange also) country!
@@SjoerdWess Betcha, it's like a different world
Top quality post, unique content mix, Sjoerd; viewers taken on journey with you; travel tips (rail cards) and candid tourist trap comments, a plus. Calming music for hectic schedule. So you found and scored your goal Minolta at the very first shop? Nice. Would have been even better if you had said why you wanted that brand and model. I imagine those stores must be like a candy shop for kids. Admire your discipline not over-buying other gear, if that makes sense? Bonus E mount adapter (did you already have one?). What film stock did you buy? Gotta show viewers the pics when you can.😊
Have a great holiday, Sjoerd!
Thanks a lot, Paul! Glad you liked the music. I sure did too! ha.
I did not yet have that adapter, so it came as a nice surprise! I ended up buying a Fujifilm roll which they had lying around (VERY expensive lol). I now use Sibersalz, which is German and very very nice!
Perfection!
Thank you!
Cool to see again all this shops. Hope you had a great time there. I am going there next year but this time with my gravel bike :)
Dude watttt! Thats so dope. A great way to see the country I assume
Love the feeling of wandering around a new city. Did the same thing 5 years ago in New York, wandering around with a vintage FEDIII film camera and ended up in B&H to buy more film.
Thats sounds awesome. I sure am taking this one on many trips to come!
I’m jealous that you were able to do such a fun thing, both of my FED-3s became unusable due to shutter issues before I could get rolls through them
That sucks man! Not a mechanical thing that cannot be made tho! Someone might be able to fixnit
the fed3 is a soviet brick! got some great photos with it last year in EU though. going to japan next month so hopefully find a light weight rangefinder or slr this time around.
great vid and a nice Minolta. Reminds me I should use my 21,28 and 50 rokkors on my a7iv. Japan is definitely still on my wishlist but the needed budget as well.
Thanks man! Definitely use them more.
just got back from my japan trip, and this was my last stop (used camera market) while looking for a wide lens for my canon ftql and good thing I waited to buy any items until I got here, since I got a very good condition 28mm lens for just 9k yen / $57 , amazing find IMO!
Its so fun, right? Great stuff!
Loved it
Thanks a lot!
Such a pretty cameraaaa…how much was it there :D ? Also 1.2 woooow :D. Love these videos :D keep doing them ..( and it helps you travel around the world :D )
Thanks so much for the love brother! The cam works great. I yet have to get the roll developed.
I used to own one Minolta x700. A great camera.
I can imagine! Im super happy with this one
i started to watch a few of these camera hunt in tokyo videos because im going to be looking for some myself but the camera box seems wildly overwhelming and i wonder if it has the best prices? also that tree at 4:!6 is beautiful tho. i have been to japan before and i honestly love being around other tourists. we all kind of have the same goal in those moments and i dont mind that.
I guess the Japanese know their prices so don't expect to find a truly rare lens for a bargin price. The prices are very similar to Ebay for example. It's just nice to dive into a total different world imo.
Camera heaven 🥰 One day...
It issssss!
what's the name of the shop you went to? I'll be in shinjuku in May and i'm planning on buying a vintage camera. Are there many camera shops around where you went to?
I think it was Shinjuku used camera market. There are 4/5 very similar shops nearby. You'll recognize them from the video.Very iconic!
what time of the year was that? the park looks beautiful.
November!
Not just look up where you're going, you really need to check in detail what you're after at where. It's all online, turning up not knowing is even more frustrating.
How much did you pay? I'm wondering if it's worth buying in Tokyo when I visit or if I should just pick something up here.
Dont mind buying it there. You can find cheaper once on Ebay or local. It's just an experience wondering around in these stores!
Did you see any vintage video cameras in The store ? I’m making it my goal to find a super 8 or a 16mm camera while I’m there
Not really actually!
