that flute shit killed me u were so confident
Best part is that it’s a clarinet… lmaooo
I swear my thrifts aren’t as good as this. I’d be out every single day making these videos
You gotta go every day to find good things, it’s about the quantity of times you go. Nothing to do with the store. I go to 10- 15 thrifts (each day) and maybe half I walk out empty handed .
Thrifting is basically a treasure hunt lol but it wooorth it!
We don’t have thrift stores in the uk, just charity shops which are so small. And these guys research everything I’m like broooooooo chill
vro its not a fluet its a CLARINEETTT!!
still not a camera :(
it’s a reference to one of his older thrifting videos when he actually accidentally called a clarinet a flute :)
"Oh, its a flute.." 😂😂😂 I'm dead. haha. Nice finds bro!
Update if anyone actually gonna read this but i just thrifted a nikon one touch point and shoot with the 2.8 lens for 3$
I got a pentax k1000 for $5 at a yard sale lol
@@benmcgraw6317 Nice find although my small hands prefer the ME over my K1000 . Did you get any cool lenses with it?
@@CaT_atomic i got a 1:2 50mm with a tele and 1:2.5 135mm lense
@@benmcgraw6317 the 135mm f2.5 is a pretty cool lens to get with it.
amazing!
Dude, just stumbled across your channel and have been binging the hell out of it. The way you find this stuff in thrift stores is unreal, here in Australia there’s no way you could get a MJU for under $100. You honestly can’t get many point and shoots for that cheap in general unless they’re broken
Oh my god I know right! Australia is so expensive for any camera stuff, if you can find it that is. I’m so jealous of America 🇺🇸 I went once and got so much cool stuff in thrift stores. Aus does have other benefits though like free health care. 👏🏻
@@LucyLumen You absolutely can!! especially the point and shoots, just got an olympus for $3..... Tip is 'not' to go into Vinnies, Salvos and other mainstream thrift shops. Go to the ones that sort their own donations and don't know the cost of the items. Most charity shops these days are centrally sorted and know how much these cameras are worth. There is an AE1 program in my local shop for $10 now.
The mju 1 is The best, probably my favorite point&shoot! Honestly liked it better than the mju 2. I also thrifted mine for about the same price! 😁
I got one for £3 on eBay and a Mju 2 for £5 on eBay, very rare but sometimes steals on there
Best cameras I found for almost pennies are Autoboy Cannon, Minolta af101r, and Olympus Infinity w/35mm Zuiko glass. All of them are excellent shooters. I have dozens of other models not so popular but shoot just as good. Cool video!
Would be nice to see a comparison of images for all the olympus! Eg. a true range finder(35sp) vs xa vs ons(u1) vs slr
Nice finds! I’ve never found a Stylus MJU in the wild.
In the UK we do not have stores like this. We have a number of charity shops but they NEVER have cameras. If you go into a charity shop and ask if they have cameras, they ask too many questions and think you will sell them for triple on eBay. Its horrible here
They have a good reason, those vintage cameras (film and digital) are in high demand and the prices are going through the ceiling with people flipping them on ebay thanks to influencers and youtubers like him.
I love to see a video on the Olympus Stylus!!!I really like the blogs keep up the great work!
So true, cameras are becoming scarce. The trend of dwindling camera availability is here.
My best thrift was a Nikon L35AF, 1000iso version for $3 at Goodwill. Never found another film camera after it. I’m convinced the thrifting gods blessed me
That’s a crazy steal
That Epson scanner would be a great option for all our old family pics, we have a lot of unprinted photos and exposed film just lying around in a box(es). Sadly, we don't have that much of an array in thrift shops, nor we have that kind of a thrift shops, we only have small ones, and even if you'll able to find tech like that it's usually gonna be quite overpriced.
And that Nikon N60 for $20 lol. I only was able to find in my country some options for around $40-50 (or even more) without lens (on a our craigslist analog).
That's a clarinet. Thanks for the PTSD lol
😆
I find it hard to get any bargains on film cameras now as the charity shops have figured out people are willing to pay the higher price, although I did recently buy a Nikon L34af for £10, absolute bargain and the lens is a dream. It also lets you take double exposures which is amazing.
I found a yashica t3 in box with the manual, case, foam, plastic sleeve. I’m not kidding when I say it looked brand new. $50, yeah it’s not super cheap but in a small town in the middle of Virginia I’ll take it.
That's a great find, Big Smoke.
damn yet I can’t find anything in my small town in va lol
Found a 250mm RF Rokkor for 15 bucks earlier this year... A saving of about 1000-1800. Perfect condition now mounted on on my g80 for a sweet 500mm telephoto setup. Experimenting with long distance street photography at the moment. Very cool thrift store find
Lucky you that was cheap! I bought the Olympus Stylus for $135 on Depop. Haha
Same here bought one on ebay for $147 😞
L
My friend bought his for $4
all the ones i’ve found on ebay are AT LEAST $340 AUD 😩
@@bellamarcon2664 it’s such a struggle!
I picked up an Olympus Af1 with the really sharp 35mm 2.8 lens. A GREAT point and shoot.
Weatherproof too. £20 from a Charity shop in the UK
I have an Olympus Af1 with the really sharp 35mm 2.8 lens
I prefer a smaller camera so I use my Rollei 35B. It has a sharp Zeiss 3.5 lens a meter that works perfectly without a battery. Manual wind and a hot shoe for flash.
I love the amount of effort you put in a video, it really shows!! What do you do with all the camera's you thrift?? If you ever decide to sell them, let me know ;)
Agreed! I love it, I too get into a sort of ‘Gear acquisition Syndrome’.
It’s fun to hunt and find items you like, but wondering if your closets are stacked?!
I just cleaned out an extra bedroom, to have more room for the same thing.... “Gear Acquisition Syndrome” 😁😁
I got my camera from @thriftgonewild on Depop and they have an Instagram too
I wonder too what he does with all these cameras
Omg about the Olympus infinity stylus, it really was the battery?! I had one that started to make that *peep* noise and I sell it because I thought that was broken 😔
I found a Nikon EM with a Series E 50mm lens for $5 at a thrift store in my area. Weirdly enough, the store I go to adopted a similar three color discount system and excluded red tags from discounts. It’s kind of like they’re all owned by the same company with different names.
Went to 2 thrift stores the other day just to leave with a roll of expired kodak b&w.. I need your luck.
damn those are some hype finds !
the boyfriend of a friend sell his Nikon FE2 to me for only $15, i think that is one of my best hunted
Wow! Great finds!
My best thrift camera is a Canon QL17 New for $10... light meter doesn’t work, and had to replace the foam (like all 60’s and 70’s cameras) but it’s a great little camera and meters aren’t needed if you have a phone 😁. Most f my camera bargains have come from estate sales, though.
inspired by one of your thrifting videos, I found a canon sureshot 60 zoom for $1.97 in mint condition, I'll get the film back this week :) thanks for the videos, I love seeing your content in my sub box it's always 🔥
Where? :)
You gotta look in antique stores. Those are almost always chock full of cameras, and many vintages!
Should have shown the inside of the Infinity Twin. I'm pretty sure people would have been really impressed by the design of the flip down mirror for the top lens.
itd be cool if you made a video explaining how to clean/restore an old film camera :)
My dude!!!! Best film photographer and youtuber in the world. Hope all is well with you sir
Loved the video! Would you be able to put a list of the stores or what the store names are at all? :)
Love your thrifting videos
Sick finds! I recently found a Pentax P3
opens clarinet box "oh its a flute" LMAO
You know it's California when you get a PSL and still get it on ice. It's noon where I am and it's still under 50°F.
Lol my fiance will get iced coffees well into January, she's a monster
im soo jealous, the olympus stylus goin for like 100 GOSH its either overpriced or online or people are just insane
I picked up a olympus microtec zoom 70 point n shoot in a store in England a few months ago. Works perfectly and lens is sharp.
I meant yahica microtec zoom 70
I love how your dog can’t find a perfect spot to sleep.
dam you messed up man😂
I just bought the Olympus Infinity Jr in the box. It’s in pristine condition. I paid $40.00 for it. Can’t wait to use it.
*opens case*
*sees a clarinet*
"oh its a flute !"
I have just got aolympus f . Zuiko 1.28 xA but no flash. What do u know about them . I am waiting to put film in for street photography? What best seting?
I recently thrifted an Olympus stylus and a canon autoboy II for 6$
Great content! Where do you go to get your film developed? I'm in SF too and was curious where you go
Olympus Stylus Epic... North American product name.... Fun point and shoot, good glass, and metering in a form factor that is designed for pockets... The pocketable digital now is cell phone. If you can find an Epic...lots of fun.
let's go thrifting is life
nice video bro ang galing pre
HOOYYYY!!! ANG HIRAP MAGHANAP NG OLYMPUS STYLUS. DAMA KO YUNG SAYA NIYA. MY DREAM CAM HUHUHUHU SANA ALL
$6 for a olympus stylus.. that is a steal OMG
Holy shit that just sent me. “Oh it’s a flute” that’s a clarinet my guy
I bought a point and shoot Minolta but it doesn’t work. Can you make a video on how to fix these types of cameras? I’ve put brand new batteries but the shutter does not go and it also doesn’t turn on :(
After recent buying the nikon d3. It 51 focus point 11fps. Low light Batman. Full fame professional. It a really great camera in glad I use it now.
“Oh it’s a flute”
Squidward would be upset you didn’t recognize a clarinet. Great content tho!!
Waitttt are we from the same hometown ??? I’ve been watching your videos because I just purchased an Olympus film camera and the background looked really familiar haha
yo that 240z was the most sick thing you found all day.
I feel like you are rather rough with the slide covers on the olympus cameras. I've had it slip off on a mju zoom.
I find a lot of stuff around here but I picked up a Nikon FM2 with 55mm f2.8 Micro-Nikkor lens for $35 this week and an L35AF for $3 a few weeks ago.
I just wish the weather would change so I could find a reason to go out. It's just been sub freezing temps every day.
You are so lucky man! We don't have these kinds of stores in France...
in canada we have them, but they sell all cameras for like $20 or less... it's like playing the lottery every single time, more so since the pandemic began if you will.
Wish I had thrift stores like this where I’m from!! Damnnn😭
I love this videos
Make the subject is in focus😊 Lucky boy
How do I pray to the trift gods for better finds?
Awsome finds. I Got a mju I for 3 bucks a few months back.
Oh wow! I didn't know Value Village had a different name in the states.
Pumpkin spice latte is ❤️
I wish Philippines has a thrift store that sells film camera at that price.
what are the thrift store you hit up? I'm out in SF tryna get lucky too
road to 100k subscribers bro
you gonna get the silver play button soon bro
just believe in yourself and post videos everyday
i see alot of these analog cameras in flea markets.. how can i be sure that itd work? i always thought the cameras like those in the flea markets are just decorations... sorry im new to this
No Joke I went thriftiness this week and found a Revere Super 8 film camera. Gonna gift it if passes its first film test.
It’s quite satisfying n jealous watching u🥲🤣 also your camera didn’t focus on the cameras😭😭
No way seriously?!? I m jealous that you got that Olympus Stylus for $5. Congrats.
I just looked up the thrift stores in my area, most only sell clothes. But one looked promising, so I called and they told me they have a whole box of film cameras that they'll unpack in the upcoming days so it'll be available next week.
W
Bro subed! Keep it coming
so cool!
Nice pickups! I recently picked up (2) 50mm f1.2 lenses for cheap. They are out there if you look!
I haven't seen any 50mm f1.2s but I did get a Pentax ME with a 50mm f1.4 and 28mm f2.8 for $17. It even came in a decent bag.
I feel like the goldmine for olympus mju is located in the bay 😭😭
first camera I bought was a Olympus stylus from eBay for my bday, I don’t have it anymore but you finding it for $5 makes me miss it more
I really enjoyed all your vids but you've never said anything about the Canon Photura 135... I found mine in my neighbors garbage and it works but nobody seems to say much about it! Will you...?
Can you please make a video about the Olympus point and shoots that you got the second day 🥺
PSA mju 1 is pronounced "mew one"
I think you mean "Ancient Mew"
I got so many mjus they’re the best
Where in nyc is a good place to go thrifting for film cameras? Trying to buy my 1st film camera
It's sad there is no camera thrift shop here in Philippines
Unfortunately over here in the UK, we don’t have thrift stores anything like in the States which are almost like department stores with amazingly low prices. Over here we have charity shops that specialise in books, DVDs, CDs and secondhand clothing. It’s very rare to find a store with any cameras as a lot of charity store here won’t accept anything electronic.
some of ours (goodwill) have turned in that direction, and the stuff they get isnt as interesting anymore
I can’t thrift a mju to save my life
Can you make a b&w film photography tips video ?
Hi, you say that some point and shoots are good and other arent does it make a big difference? Thanks
good video, thanks
What’s your set up for filming your videos?
Lol fall, it's now winter here up north
9:27
*looks at clarinet*
oh its a flute
9:27 bro you did not just call that clarinet a flute in front of me 😭😭😭 love the photography content but my poor little flutist heart aches 🥲🥲
hello ... where are you buy the store. Thanks!!
Not many thrift stores near me rarely have cameras. Always have to travel to other cities
The Stylus is probably worth more than the EM. $124 for an EM? Interesting pricing to say the least.
Watching this video in 2022, almost 2023 and it’d be impossible to find a point and shoot at these prices 😩😭 like literally a dream
Also, just thrifted this camera, Olympus infinity twin, what film did you like the best using this model? :)
omg, I want a olympus stylus too
