Alright gang! As we build up this collection of digicams I want to give one away to one of you guys! Get this video to 1000 likes and I’ll give one away in our next thrift video!
This past weekend at a thrift store, I purchased a silver case for $50. Inside was two Hasselblad 500 EL/M's Four lenses, 80mm 2.8, 50mm f/4, 150mm f/4 and 250mm F/5.6 along with an assortment of focusing screens, and one prism finder.
I found a 12 year old Nikon Coolpix s3100 and that technology is so needed right now with everything being 4k,8k,12k... it looks like film compared to today's phones etc. Cool stuff! I recommend everyone go buy a old quick shot digital cam.
On the Minolta film camera, I have seen many that appear dead, put fresh batteries, nothing. The if I swap with another battery pack set from another camera, it fires right up. Usually, I will soak the battery holder is some lime/scale remover, rinse, dry and try again. Many have been sitting for years with button batteries that leaked. Sometimes the corrosion is obvious, sometimes not visible at all.
NIce Find... I recently found a Canon T7 for $30. Mint shape. I guy I know just found a Leica CL and a Fuji X100, same day, same store. SICK!!! Oh and the Leica had two lenses, $30 for each camera.
You know what amazes me even more thatn the cameras you find? The fact that there are so many store to begin with and all the stuff you can probaply find there, there are barely any where I am from to begin with
Got that fresh cut. I too was in a similar situation last week twice but one store I found so many goods with the best one being a D60 kit that came with an 18-55mm kit lens but also included was a boxed AF-S Nikkor 35MM f/1.8 DX and two days later when I found a Camera Sure Shot A-1 underwater camera.
I've never thrifted for cams before since they're impossible to find here at goodwill. All these thift stores are just crazy to me. I have seen pocket cams elsewhere before but my best discoveries have been a panasonic gf2 with lens and a canon eos slr with a 50mm which i found separately on the street on garbage day. I traded the gf2 for a sigma art lens and sold the canon for $130. Not long ago, i traded my old monitor and keyboard for a Canon Rebel XS dslr with lens.
I too have several Canon Powershot cameras. I recently bought a powershot "N" and am totally surprised at how great the pics come out. It'a very small and odd camera, with touch screen. Super cool camera...I dig it.
Those Canon Point and shoot take amazing evening pictures that requires a good 5 point flash. The iPhone 14 pro can’t compete with the Canon or Sony point and shoot that have a real flash and not LED. At least not yet and the noise level on the Canon’s is very very low. Great buy!!!
Canon Powershot has been the only point-and-shoot brand that I have purchased in the last 20 years. A few drops of rain fell on it one day and…the viewfinder fogged up. It never cleared up. Believe me, it was a sad day. It got even sadder when I say the current prices of Canon cameras. I am a thrifter but I never thought about purchasing electronics from a thrift store. It seemed so risky. I might reconsider, though. Great Canon finds, by the way.
To bad that xga wasn't working I have it and it works great and the simplicity on how to use it was perfect for me starting to learn how to use a 35mm film camera.
Only one real thrift store in my town. Found a few decent point and shoots there. Canon SD850IS and a Sony DSC-830. My best finds there are a Nikon 1J1 with two lenses, a Sony SLT-A57 with 18-55 kit lens, and a Canon SX220hs.
Quality film camera haven't been made for over 20 years. That is a long time for film cameras to be sold, dropped off at pawn shops, and thrift stores, fallen out of closets, donated to rummage sales, all at a time where pretty much every reseller has an eye out for them. I think I'll be happy with my old classics.
The Canon P&S can run CHDK, which means it is ideal for time-lapse, especially when you want to leave unattended. Most of my older time-lapse on my channel were using P&S.
your videos are encouraging me to start using film & digital cameras. well, actually I’m already waiting for my digital cams & film (canon demi ee28) I’m a newbie but I hope to get good shots & learn more with these cams
Heck yeah the thrift stores are watching you especially Goodwill where they have a whole dept working 24/7 and also Savers is just barly getting into the game. And lets not forget the eBay sellers watching you as well because "Money never sleeps!" .
Got lucky and found a stylus epic for $15 in the city. Hard to find thrift stores in San Francisco that have film cameras but The Salvation Army never lets me down.
I was at a local thrift store a couple of weeks ago and found a small baby blue Lowepro camera case marked $19.00. Inside was a Canon SX610HS camera. The camera came with a memory card and battery but there was no way to check if it was working. I decided to take the risk, made the purchase and then ordered a battery charger on line I was very happy after charging the battery and found the camera to be fully functional. I just took it on a business trip to Miami and it works great.
A few years back we were on Holiday in San Francisco from Melbourne Australia . I took my trusty Lumix LX-5 Anyway here's what happened One morning the camera fell off the Kitchen counter onto the tiled floor sadly i didn't grab it in time, and although the camera powered up and worked the focus was way off making it unusable ,my first thought was i need another camera fast as it was only our second day there and i didn't want to rely on my Mob Phone . Later that morning we were walking down Market Street when i spotted one of those Thrift stores we promptly walked in ( i could see it was mostly electronic gear but there was also a camera section). I scanned the shelves and as luck would have it i spotted an identical Lumix LX-5 not only that but i just happened to have a couple of charged batteries in my pocket .Without hesitating i put one in the camera and it was all good, the salesman was totally surprised that i even had the appropriate battery , Needless to say i bought it there and then (from memory i paid $100) , i was like a dog with two tails !! you couldn't wipe the smile off my face ! During the next few weeks i shot over 3000 pics on that camera and it worked flawlessly. I still use it from time to time and will never part with it. Thank heavens for thrift stores and i so advise . . .
Ayeee great vlog, I just bought a canon sx620 hs for 30 bucks too but I don’t know how to change the settings to make the pics looks sexy and crispy so I was just wondering if you could make a vid on how to change them and what settings do you have on it
I started this video yesterday, got to about 9:50 and paused it to go hit some thrift stores myself. Found bupkis but hey, when you get the bug you gotta go thrifting for cameras 😂😂
Lmao i have the 620HS and I use it to scan my negatives with a 3d printed carrier, the macro is good and since it doesn't have manual focus I just use a macro rail, results are good enough for me
Great for you. A polite counterpoint to "gear acquisition syndrome" or better said . . . gear acquisition 401 for the working man. I have a bunch of equipment. The smallest pocketable stuff usually gets the nod. Also small sensors can, with the right fixed lens, give ya AMAZING macros. Thanks for your work. Keep punching brother.
Can't wait to come Stateside for Christmas ⛄ 🎄 and do some thrift store camera goodies I looking for any Fujifilm digital cams. 😊😎📸📸📸 Or vintage lenses like that Minolta lens you have!!
I’m punching the air cause I saw so many film cameras at good will & when the pandemic happened there was still a lot but now it’s clean house :(. So far I’ve only found a canon extender for $8 bucks for my AE1 recently & got a free Minolta Maxxum 5000 with original bag, manuals, mint lens & body, flash, filters from Craigslist. Previous owner bought it from a auction but never used it or turned it on. Only thing I had to do was clean the battery corrosion & works fine!
Those Minolta point & shoots are so underrated. I use the AF Tele all the time and it's easily one of my favorite cameras. and i got it for less than $20 I think!
I still find good deals regularly. I saw an old TV camera with a canon lens but at that moment didn't do any research. Will check it again today to see if it's good shit. I was more interested in the Braun Nizo. :P
@KingJvpes .. Although there is no such thing as a thrift store here in the UK, we do have charities that sell electronic devices via Ebay, and I have had the odd bargain via that route including pristine Canon S95 and S120 models.
Alright gang! As we build up this collection of digicams I want to give one away to one of you guys! Get this video to 1000 likes and I’ll give one away in our next thrift video!
The more you bring pocket cameras the more I like this channel 💜🤎🤝🏼
🔥
💪
nice
Do you know how to adjust the shutter speed?? I bought the same camera but i can't find the shutter priority option
WOOOOOAH 😯😯😯
And 2 Leicas in there aswell
I recently picked up a random sport bag at a thrift store. Inside was 1million dollars in cash.
r/thishappened
I found $1000 in a thrift store for $10
YO LET ME HOLD THAT
I found a 12 year old Nikon Coolpix s3100 and that technology is so needed right now with everything being 4k,8k,12k... it looks like film compared to today's phones etc. Cool stuff! I recommend everyone go buy a old quick shot digital cam.

I do like how you show us that thrifting can work out when it comes to cameras. Thanks for your video!
You know what amazes me even more thatn the cameras you find? The fact that there are so many store to begin with and all the stuff you can probaply find there, there are barely any where I am from to begin with
i always loved the canon P&S . They are so ergonomic, versatile and stress free.
These thrift stores are awesome, wish we had these in germany
Got that fresh cut. I teach photography 4H and one of my students could only afford $200 for a camera. She ended up buying the Canon SX 620S and it has been great.

Harder these days since goodwill sells most things of value on their online auction site. It’s harder to find deals.
The Minolta likely has a leaked capacitor (same issue the X-*00 series tends to develop). Should be a fairly easy fix.
I too have several Canon Powershot cameras. I recently bought a powershot "N" and am totally surprised at how great the pics come out. It'a very small and odd camera, with touch screen. Super cool camera...I dig it.

Everyone is trying to thrift film atm. Would love to see a road trip episode to see if you can find some untapped areas for those hidden gems

Good to still see you thrifting! This is how I found your channel way back when.

I just found our old canon powershoot a3400 is hopes it still works, cause this will be fun to use
Nice, I picked one up last year for 5 dollars. Sold it though
@@AngeloHinojosa selling them is the easy part, finding a good working/high in demand film camera for $5 is very difficult these days.
I found a stylus zoom in my local goodwill and that's the only camera I've ever found at a thrift shop
Walked away from some of history's crispests slr systems and settled on an excibel. 😄 That's commitment to the craft.
I paid 190 for the sx620 brand new it's a great camera captured a lot of vacation memories on it canon did a great job on it
Put a Canon S95 or S100 on your watch list. It's a fully manual point and shoot, pocket camera and they're still cheap.
I managed to score a Canon SX610HS recently for £7.99. Awesome little camera
I was at a local thrift store a couple of weeks ago and found a small baby blue Lowepro camera case marked $19.00. Inside was a Canon SX610HS camera. That Canon 620HS has really good optical zoom - I’ve used one for some good amateur wildlife photos
Ayeee great vlog, I just bought a canon sx620 hs for 30 bucks too but I don’t know how to change the settings to make the pics looks sexy and crispy so I was just wondering if you could make a vid on how to change them and what settings do you have on it
I had that Canon and Casio. You almost made me cry!
I shop thrifts for cameras I bought a lot. And yes use what you have. I own the small canon I think I have two of them silver in color
please get a gimbal or some kind of image stabilization for your vlogging camera, im getting dizzy
I started this video yesterday, got to about 9:50 and paused it to go hit some thrift stores myself. Found bupkis but hey, when you get the bug you gotta go thrifting for cameras 😂😂
Got a brand new Nikon FA with a 35mm f2 Nikkor for 30$ bucks yesterday in a garage sale, don't loose hope!
Old is gold! 🤩🤩🤩
I recently thrifted an Olympus mju II for 6$!! Man I was excited- it works perfectly and looks like it’s never been touched 🤪
Lmao i have the 620HS and I use it to scan my negatives with a 3d printed carrier, the macro is good and since it doesn't have manual focus I just use a macro rail, results are good enough for me
I like that Canon I found a similar camera for about less than people would believe those are fun to shoot.
Lucky you have thrift store where you are I'm in NYC you cant find cameras in NYC thrift stores anymore
Great for you. A polite counterpoint to "gear acquisition syndrome" or better said . . . gear acquisition 401 for the working man. I have a bunch of equipment. I found a canoon t3i with bag and 2 lenses for 25$ at goodwill. Been using it for fun for 2 years now. Shutter count was 280.
That was great, I really enjoyed the video. Won’t get many cameras in charity shops here at all.
I have that Canon SX620, I almost gave it away but it fit's in my smallest purses. It's a great camera still.
Me too. Great camera in the right light.
Clean well the baterie place of the minolta, something simillar happens to me with that model. Clean it well. Inside and try with new bateries.
This video inspired me to go to some local pawn shops! Found a Sony A7iv for $500!!!!!!! In perfect condition
That lens on film camera is golden!
Nice scoops!
Love your content🫂
I have SX620 HS, that's awesome camera))
I remember that Focal brand. It was a Kmart in house brand I think
Any video about the 620?
Digicams are popping up everywhere. The lower the resolution, the better.
Vallejo!!! 🤘🏾😎🤘🏾
My nikon coolpix s3100 is equal to that blue Canon. It's sooo dope! I shoot B&W and Vivid Color pics. Vivid setting shoots like film.
Ayo KING Jvpes~ I saw your sleeper camera video and be a fan since. (Saw it a few days ago) Keep it up~! Hella miss SanFo.
I have an S120 sitting around somewhere. Also have an S95 but it has a blown pixel and I never wanted to sell it for that reason.
Wow, you’re thrift stores are a lot more stocked than mine.
Can't wait to come Stateside for Christmas ⛄ 🎄 and do some thrift store camera goodies I looking for any Fujifilm digital cams. 😊😎📸📸📸 Or vintage lenses like that Minolta lens you have!!
That's really cool that Californians still say "wackest!"
Yo! Where are these thrift stores? I’m in the bay (peninsula), nothing like that over here.
So glad I never get rid of stuff for my camerasLOLOL
Digicams are cool. I'm down for a street photography photo walk type video dedicated to that last canon 25x zoom point and shoot
I’m punching the air cause I saw so many film cameras at good will & when the pandemic happened there was still a lot but now it’s clean house :(. damn, I really gotta thrift more. you find so many gems
Seems like its location dependent because my state is no where near as equipped as these when it comes to cameras.
You can also hack the firmware of the Canon with CHDK
Those Minolta point & shoots are so underrated. I use the AF Tele all the time and it's easily one of my favorite cameras. and i got it for less than $20 I think!
That tees is vintage too
Estate sales!
Good deals !
I have that same blue one except its silver!
I still find good deals regularly. I saw an old TV camera with a canon lens but at that moment didn't do any research. Will check it again today to see if it's good shit. I was more interested in the Braun Nizo. :P
When thrifting for digicam how do you know what to look out for
Keep doing this cool oldschool gem finds, really love the exploration.
Been striking out lately. Got a clean Minolta Hi-Matic G for $9. Waiting on the results.
Where is that Thrift Village at?
Man I wish I had that many options here in AZ. So scarce on any type of cameras at thrift stores in my area. Nice vid btw man
South California is worse lol everyone buying every type of camera and thinking they are Kendall Jenner
Thats why God created OfferUp 😃
It has been a while since I've found a nice camera in thrift store. Good job on those Canons!
We don't have thrift stores with cameras in MD 😣

@KingJvpes .. Although there is no such thing as a thrift store here in the UK, we do have charities that sell electronic devices via Ebay, and I have had the odd bargain via that route including pristine Canon S95 and S120 models.
