It’s probably binding because the threads are gaulding on the screw or the nut the screw rides in. Or it could be the right angle gear boxes are failing. This lift seems scetchy to me. When it fails it’s going to come down hard and if you are down there holding the drill it could come your way.
Surprised you didn't grease it before review, periodic greasing should be required maintenance. Calling a unit that needs scheduled greasing problematic is not really fair to the manufacturer.
thanks for this reply. It is true they did not specify that it should be greased. About a week ago I got some "Green Grease" and it fixed the problem. However my shop has sawdust, so that likely contributes to more frequent greasing.
@@SolveFixBuild - so you were able to fix the problem? So your assessment that there was some binding happening due to lubrication sounds like it was correct. How about the power-drill issue? Have you found any drill that works well enough and won't suffer burnout / premature death?
@@manofsan I did another video on a failure that occurred after this. Re-lubing helped but only for a time. The tubing is too thin and the whole lift is held in square by two small bolts. It failed there, recommendation is do not buy.
@@SolveFixBuild - thanks for pointing me to your other video - that was a real eye opener for me. I know that others out there make similar tilt lifts. I'm wondering if theirs are any better, or if they suffer from the same problems. But thanks for that, it was really good to see what went wrong with yours.
I would check the acme screws on each side and make sure there not stripping. Meaning to much weight for screws
Good thinking - check other vid- it broke at the fixture screws.

See my other video - it did fail!
Also check gear boxes for wear and oil level.
hey there - the lift is at the recyclers. :)
