Woow.. feel like im tripping with the camera melting illusion lol
This video is my life saver my bike (2003-YZ250-F)was doing the same thing and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong now I know exactly whats the problem. Put in new head gasket and running beautiful thanks buddy.
Great video, very informative, i now have a better understanding, thank you
Thanks for the information , ya OEM gasket great i use them for 105.5 mm with compression 10 , even if they have small diameter but the o ring have 106 mm , However i wide the hole in the gasket " water jaket " for 2mm its stand for the past 3 years
You said the cylinder is a harder material then the cylinder head. If the cylinder head is being replaced due to a crack in a coolant jacket is it possible to just clean up the cylinder surface and not deck it? I already decked the cylinder head. Hoping to avoid pulling the cylinder and replacing the base gasket if possible. Appreciate any advice you might be willing to provide.
This is so me 5-15 dabs into trying to explain to customer what I had to fix
So I had someone put a new gasket on my 2006 SE raptor 700 it runs good and everything I’m just concerned because around where the new head gasket looks wet it’s not dripping oil but looks oily around the gasket should I be concerned
Can you simply lap it in? Or is this something better at the hands of fast heads or LA sleeve?
great video. obviously you have seen how i ride, usually wot on these dusty Michigan trails. my question is whats the longest you have seen one of these bikes run before it needs a rebuild? assuming of course keeping oil changed regularly and keeping good fluids throughout. thumbs up bro.
i occasionally work on bikes making it over 10 years,,, most are worn out by 6 to 8 years
So my yfz 450 pisses coolant out of overflow hose and mixed coolant into the oil. I replaced the water pump. Do you think replacing head gasket and sanding down the head will fix this problem
You have thrown a wrench in my plan! Lol,, so I bought a cometic for a Yamaha 660 Rhino, stock OEM motor, no racing for mine.
Yes a lot of guys on the forum recommend oem over Cometic (except if it is a high performance build) So my Cometic, is new, embossed with maybe a rubber coating? double raised band. btw, does this raised band flatten out?
would this cause a groove in my aluminum case or cylinder head ? Or since I am stock should I sell this one and go oem Yamaha? I am a little confused the gasket in your video has rubber melted? Is it the raised bands that are rubber ? if so, how could rubber cause the groove in Aluminum? is it the same design as cometic? will I have same issue ?
thank you for any info.
Mainly for 700 motor but yes if oem bore the factory works great
Can you install a fire ring in it
Hi I have a question for everyone on here Looking for some help I have a 2003 Yamaha raptor 660R fully stocked parts and carburetors issues can anyone please tell me how many turns out for each carburetor air/Fuel mix screw turns
To get them both to run up hill without hesitation please anyone help
Thank you
Can you guys do port work on banshees?
Is it also the reason why water mixes with oil inside the crankcase?
Yes, but Normally that would be from a cracked cylinder
MrCuervoRacing My mc was running good until i used Rislone radiator cleaner, i poir one bottle and run the mc for few hours, then i noticed the reservoir becomes dark, then when i look at the dipstick the oil was milky brown... could the radiator cleaner have damaged something inside?? Any thoughts?
@@MrCuervoRacing Is there any way to determine whether the coolant getting into crankcase is from water pump seal, head gasket, base gasket, or cracked cylinder head. Thinking about putting cylinder leak tester and trying to listen for air escaping.
Time for a lapping plate?
I actually added 2 of the last year. Much better results than machine surface
@@MrCuervoRacing I can see where a billit head would be good for wear
@@MrCuervoRacing have you ever thought of Cryo, treating?
Dl700 I’m jumping back into the raptor scene again.
good too here from ya. Hit me up when u do!
MrCuervoRacing you already know.
Do you guys do yfz450s?
Jared Thompson yes sometimes. Not very often
