Very informative videos. I just picked up a 05 grizzly 660. It wont start, and went it does it runs very rough for a few seconds and dies. Going to clean the carb thoroughly, but whats the best wat to clean the fuel tank out? Also, the previous owner has never changed the belt. Are these machines known for belt issues? Should i just be safe and change it? Thank you
I usually just pull the tank & put a little gas in it & shake it up then u use my vacuum bleeder & suck out off the junk then blow it out with compressed air
Right on. I flushed the tank, cleaned the carb. New plug, new in-line fuel filter. It starts and runs good, goes down the road good, but once it gets warm, it dies and wont restart for about 15-20 minutes. Haven't checked compression yet, not sure if that could be an issue?
@kriseast8414 when it doest that pull the spark plug & check it for spark. You pickup coil could be going out once it get hot & then when it cools off it will start again.
Hello. Just purchased a 03 Yamaha grizzly 660 myself. Noticed that it’s blowing white smoke, not a lot but some. And smelling like fuel. Do you think it could be a head gasket? Or carb related
Did you check your oil to see if it was a milky looking? But usually white smoke out of the exhaust means your burning coolant. Easy way to find out is to take the radiator cap off & start it up & see if you have bubbles in your radiator at a constant rate then that means head gasket. But I'm sure that's what it is because it's burning coolant & if it was the water pump it would just make your oil milky looking.
I bought it from Apluslifts back in 2020. Here is the link.www.apluslift.com/collections/motorcycles-trikes-atv-utv-lift-tables/products/apluslift-motorcycle-lift-mt1500x
About to buy one cheap that has coolant coming out of the exhaust and it’s smoking. I suspect headgasket but i worry it could be a cracked cylinder or head. What’s your experience with these are heagaskets common to go on these?
Yeah definitely sounds like a head gasket. But you need to make sure that the head isn't warpped.. I would just put a need piston & rings in it since you are going to be there anyway. I have seen head gaskets go bad but it's usually from over heating are major abuse.
@@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 I agree, I’m going to put rings and a piston on. Just hoping the head isn’t cracked. Someone for sure got it boiling hot.
About the dryer sheets, some people say they repel rodents. Obviously NOT. Great video!
I heard the same thing but we can see how well that worked lol. Appreciate you checking out the video.
What would cause my 2002 660 grizzly to crank very fast and not start
What’s a ok charging number. Mine is 13.4 -13.6 when running. And 12.4-12.6when it has sat for a few hours after.
Yeah that pretty much perfect. You just don't want anything higher than 14.7Vdc are less than 13Vdc while running.

Oh when it comes to the belt I would just change it to be safe. They really don't have many issues unless you beat on then really hard
