    This model has the Air Filter on the motor cover. This took me by surprise because I saw many models with the Air Filter right next to the car battery.

    Dude thank God you are the only person so far with videos on the gasoline 5 cylinder Passat 2012. I just bought this car and I'm trying to teach myself how to do everything

      @@AcetuningTVPerformance that is really great because I am one of those mechanically inclined women. I wan to learn how to do these things for mydelf not because I don’t have a dude, lol, because I do, but he is the opposite of mechanically inclined. I was the kid that took crap
      apart and put it back together, he was the kid who took things apart and then either lost the pieces or went to the next challenge lol..

    Thanks for pointing out the filter housing bleed button. I have a $20 4' LED shop light I use to light up under the car. Never say anymore 'it's always about the light' during repairs.

    Thanks for posting this. Doing my own oil after the last company I paid let it all leak out by putting the seals upside down.

    Thanks its so helpful. Hi, I am unable to change filter when doing oil change as my wrench didn’t fit . Is it okay to change the filter only by just changing and loosing the oil in the filter only ?

      @AcetuningTVPerformance  Год назад +1

      I would buy the proper socket wrench for the filter canister and change filter every time you change your oil.

    Great video! Once you have drained all the oil from the filter housing and the oil pan, how do you know how much oil to put back in?

    Do you know if there is a place to verify the size of the wrench that takes off the filter? I have a 2013 VW Passat with a 2.5L 5 Cylinder Gas Engine and have found the 74.5 mm 14 Flat on-line, but all the sites that have that wrench do not show that it's compatible with that year or size engine. In your video, it sure looks like the same filter cap as mine, but I'm a little confused why the part store sites are not showing that the year and size engine are compatible.

      Thanks for watching! Not sure of a place to varify size but my socket says "AST 2175". I bought it from Amazon.

      I agree. I replaced the plastic one on my S4 with an aluminum piece from CTS Turbo. Much better.
