no pre priming the oil filter holder with some oil to prevent a dry start?.....I always fill the oil filter with as much oil as I can but not too much to create a mess.....JMO
Good thing you got the right kind of "earl". It's OIL, O I L. C'mon man! And you clean the "earl" filter housing on the outside but then place a clean filter into the filthy, gunked-up inside of the housing. Get a little parts cleaner and hose that crap out.
