Good video. But a few caveats. Just did my 2012 Passat oil & filter, first time. The filter housing on my car DID NOT NEED the 36mm socket to remove it. It's not the same housing as shown in this video. I ended up getting a W54121 oil filter cap wrench, AutoZone, for $7.99. It's 74mm in diameter with 14 flutes (think of a 14 sided polygon). It fits right over the bottom of the housing,(after removing a smaller cap at the center of bottom of the housing-see below) and requires a 3/8inch socket drive, and it works good. Also, on the smaller torx bolts, the size is 15, at least on my 2012. Finally, if you have the 14 sided housing, you'll have a half dollar sized cap at the bottom, that has a tether attached to it. Unscrew it, and inside you'll find an orange nipple. Depress it with a flat head screwdriver, and it allows all the oil in the filter housing to drain out. Helps avoid a big mess when removing the housing. Remember to close that nipple before screwing the cap back on!! Just a few helpful tips, from a fellow DIYer.
