- Halloween's the time to celebrate numerous monsters. And this franchise is one of the best ways to show the spirit. This show has not just nostalgic value, but a ton of creative monsters. So we're gonna run through them all for Halloween this year.
(Also I should mention I had a lot of issues behind the scenes. ie: my computer dying out and the mic acting up, I tried fixing it all up, but in case I missed anything, sorry in advance).
Happy Halloween, Everyone.

Can't wait
These villains voice actors deserve a lot of credit because they have really scary voices.
Amen!
Absolutely right. Creepy voices, and creepy artwork!
@@aaryamannambiar6677 exactly
💯 true
Scooby Doo was unintentionally a very important cartoon, when it comes to children's development. For those able to see it, the cartoon taught you to not fall for superstition and claims that magic is real, what a grift is and that those running them are every day people and to not fall for their bullshit. This can be applied to so so many aspects of life and truly does help kids cut through a lot of the bullshit even adults are trying to convince them of and to think for themselves, but most importantly, think critically and always investigate (don't just take what you're being told at face value). Invaluable lessons and Scooby Doo has it all.
Hollllyyyyyyy... I’ve never even thought of that! As someone who grew up to love literary analysis, I’m amazed that I never caught that in what is hands down my favorite childhood show! Nice grab mate I’m prolly gonna remember that forever
That's why Carl Sagan was a big fan of Scooby-Doo
Scooby Doo is the anti X-files.
No matter how many times it was a guy in a suit, Scoob and Shaggy always assumed the ghosts and monsters were real. No matter how much blatant evidence Scully got last episode, she always doubted the super/paranatural by the next episode.
More importantly it taught us problem solving skills. It taught us to use our brains and put things together, to try and figure out the mystery ourselves.
Then Mystery Incorporated happened...
What stood out for the Snow Ghost for me is his brutality. He’s not trying to scare them off, he’s trying to KILL the gang. And by cutting them with a buzzsaw, blowing them up with dynamite, crushing them with a barrel, and even dropping them off a cliff.
Redbeard also tried to kill shaggy and Scooby twice with the haunted swords.
YES! Most rankings don’t talk about that! The Snow Ghost is one of the top villains of scary because there’s real danger
The Ape Man was also a complete non threat. Like, the first time they encounter the ape man, Scooby just kicks his ass. Then later, Scooby scares him off by barking at him.
The Ape Man is my favorite villain to watch get absolutely wrecked by our favorite doggy companion. Especially considering Scooby Doo’s reputation for being such a scaredy cat, or dog in this case. Not to mention, how he was easily defeated by Shaggy easily taking a photo of him. You know you’re not cut out for being intimidating when the world’s greatest coward doesn’t hesitate to wreck you up like a true badass. Ape Man was doomed to fail the moment Scooby Doo resisted running away with fear from him and instead chose fight..😂
As a retired teacher, a pastor, and the grandfather of a little girl who loves Scooby Doo, I love your attention to detail, though I disagree with some of your rankings. I would have had the Wax Phantom at 25, Redbeard at 24, not sure about the middle... and probably the Ghost Clown at #1 with The Spooky Space Kook, the Phantom ShadowS, and the HAWAIIAN Witch Doctor somewhere in the top five. But, hey, we all have our own backgrounds and opinions, don't we? I really enjoyed your review. You and I have made a LOT of similar observations. Take care.
Said like an email love it
While growing up my dad would watch Tom and Jerry and scooby doo with me. Treasured those moments so thank you for caring about your granddaughters interests at all, you make the world go round
@@justinkunheeyi Happy Thanksgiving!
I think one of the things that makes the Creeper so memorable is also that it's one of the few episodes where Mystery Inc. isn't actively looking to solve the case at first; they're out at a barn dance and the Creeper goes after them b/c they have a piece of evidence that could prove who's behind the mask (and of course, the kids don't even realize they have it). Most other episodes have them stumbling upon a mystery and pursuing it out of curiosity; with the Creeper, they don't really have much of a choice.
Similarly with the Puppet Master, although they initially seek out the mystery, the gang decides it’s too scary for them and they try to leave but get locked in. Like with the creeper, they’re basically forced to solve the mystery which made it a lot more memorable to me
Add onto the fact that the creeper was actively trying to harm them
the creeper is one of the stupidest villain in term of evil plot. Carswell kept the bank guard in his house, so when the guard when missing 4 kids and a talking dog could testify that carswell’s house was the last place known where the Garuda was. Carswell would also be suspicious for not trying to increase security in the bank. He had really now way of success in his plot even without the kids’ meddling.
One detail I love is that Captain Cutler’s wife being super eerie makes sense if you think about the fact that she’s trying to seek the myth that her husbands dead.
Elias Kingston had me shitting bricks, the ghostly wailing at the start of the episode "What the Hex is going on"
Hearing him say "COOOMEEE COOME," And Uncle Stuart zombified all of it gave me the heebie jeebies as a kid.
me to, when i was younger i was hiding under my blankets when those scenes came up
Oh fuckkk it had me shitting bricks too
@@-rockmusiclover- I mean every single time 😭😭🙀
Bruh, yes!
Top three episodes that had me shitting bricks as a kid:
"What the Hex is Going On"
That opening!
"A Night of Fright is No Delight"
When the clock strikes midnight, that entire sequence scared the shit out of me
"Spooky Space Kook"
Also that opening!
He's special. Kingston is a real creepy dude, hands down, first place for me! 🥇
Back in the 1970's, I couldn't wait for Saturday mornings so I could watch Scooby-Doo. Now I'm watching it on Tubi and still loving it.
My favorite part of the Elias Kingston episode, was the look Uncle Stuart gives at the end when his niece asks him why he did what he did. It implies that he regrets what he's done and knows that he made a terrible mistake. His greed and jealousy ruined his relationship with his brother and niece, and ruined his own life.
You forgot a detail about the Ape Man; The ape suit was made/fitted FOR HIM. He was the ape man in the movie they were making.
The Spooky Space Kook was my favorite, and the eerie spacecraft with red lighting in the cockpit was great. The dark and dreary farmland at the beginning of the episode sets a great spooky mood. Captain Cutler in his frightening glowing diving suit is a close second.
The Backstage Rage is one of the creepiest episodes in all of Scooby Doo history.
Yes! Especially when they say “counterfeiters!” in unison. Gives me the chills lol
@@keepingupwithnikki4085 serious chills!
@@aaryamannambiar6677 Looking back on it at this day and age, I personally found it just as funny as it was creepy. While still a tad creepy, you gotta admit that it’s also a little bit hammy in an over the top kinda way. It’s not as hammy as the “PROFESSOR HYDE WHITE!!!” line from the show’s pilot, but it was still creepy and simultaneously a tad cheesy. It’s just something I can’t take quite as seriously as other people now that I’m an adult.
Captain Cutler has to be my favourite, basing a ghost off an old diving suit from the 1800's was unique and the seaweed that gave the creepy glow is an awesome touch. Almost 40 years later this design was used for another vilian the Cyclops of the first Spongebob movie making Cutler tame compared to it. I mean killing sea creatures for decoration?! I grew up watching Scooby doo and Spongebob but didn't make the connection until years later.
While I kinda personally prefer Captain Cutler’s Ghost I still have to agree with you on everything else. I mean, given that he grew to such a MASSIVE size in Monsters Unleashed and on top of him having his own personal harpoon, I’d say that he’s just as much a threat to people as he is to the fish in the sea.
For me, the Creeper was my favorite ever ghost. So glad they make the credit in Scooby Doo 2 Movie, even I hope they can show it than just a statue (also being alive).
Ghost clown proved the show was ahead of their time and acknowledging the sinister nature of clowns
Wait...there aint no way this series ran for only 25 episodes. There HAD to have been more. That is mindboggleing.
Nope that’s exactly how long the original Scooby Doo ran for.
At one point there was a third season but it was repackaged as a different series.
My #1 is definitely Capt. Cutler. Drowned sailors/divers creep me out.
I very much was expecting Captain Cutler to be #1
That spooky eerie diver suit stuck with just about every Scooby-Doo fan.
The big heavy scuba suit gave Cutler this bulky, imposing muscular monster vibe.
The way he's animated, with his large arms hoisted upwards as he marches at the Gang is just an iconic Scooby-Doo scene.
Having no face, just a static diving helmet gives this true discomforting mystery behind him.
Plus the creepy moaning and the music that plays when he shows up
@@MysteriumArcanumHe was my favorite Scooby Doo villain. He was much tamer than the Creeper.
Space Kook is the coolest Scooby-Doo villain. Period.
No argument
Yes! Best of all of them.
It's funny how everyone remembers, "Coin Coin!" It's something me and my family quotes often.
Omg yeah!
That mummy really wanted that coin, didn't he?
I Used To Be Dressed Up As The Spooky Space Kook For Halloween When I Was A Kid. Because I Thought It Was The Perfect Custome To Scare People Away. But I Wouldn’t Mean To Scare Them Away, I Would Take Off The Mask And Say “I Fooled You Happy Halloween”.
The Puppet Master episode gave me nightmares as a kid. 😂 I loved it!
Jack Busby, I am 55 but as a 13 year old boy, I would quiet the house and audio tape each episode. I still have the audio cassettes to this day. The 8 inch scale figures of the gang along with the villians are fantastic, Ghost Clown included.
My favorite classic villain is Captain Cuttler. His episode was the first I ever saw
Classic
Me too, It was my first experience watching Scooby Doo when I first saw it on VHS tape entitled Scooby-Doo’s Greatest Mysteries (rerelease).
Scooby doo always came across as dated and timeless. Legit scarry, yet funny, and kid friendly. It's crazy how the show managed to do this since the 60's.
One of my favorite Scooby Doo moments was in Monster's Unleashed, when Captain Cutler rises outta the lake and attacks Mystery Inc. Such a great scene, including the moment before with Shaggy and Scooby's talk.
I know, that’ scene was so great! And in some, it’s arguably the closest a villain ever got killing Scooby. NO JOKE, he literally almost got STABBED IN THE THROAT! Go back, watch the movie, and try to tell Scooby didn’t have a near death experience. And the Tar Monster came pretty close to offing the rest of the gang too, even if I’m not really a fan of the guy. I just think it was cool concept but poorly executed, I mean he’s just a walking black blob with green eye. He was a kinda stressful enemy in Night of 100 Frights and a bit too creepy in Monsters Unleashed. That’s why I never liked him, and it’s not like CyberChase added anything new, in fact his brown textures in the movie made him look more like he was made of mud then actual tar. But that aside, I agree that was a great scene in Monsters Unleashed, if not my favorite scene.
I love the Silas Long werewolf episode mainly for the part in the graveyard.
Velma: “Here lies Silas Long. Half man and half wolf.”
Shaggy: “And I’m half gone already.”
My Top Ten
#10-The Ghost of Captain Cutler
#9-The Ghost of Redbeard
#8-The Creeper
#7-The Headless Specter
#6-Charlie the Robot
#5-The Ghost of Elias Kingston
#4-The Ghost of Mr. Hyde
#3-The Green Ghosts
#2-The Ghost Clown
#1-Space Kook
All were tough picks except for #1. To me, nothing tops the Space Kook, he’s just that awesome.
Admittedly, the Ghost Clown is probably the one with the most horrifying plan, and he is one of the few villians that actually tries to kill them rather than just scare them.
The Space Kook was the best!
Captain Cutler will always be my favourite ❤
Interesting fact I just found out: The first werewolf from the game "The Quarry" whose name is Silas(also known as the Dog Boy) got his name burrowed from the Scooby Doo werewolf villain 😆
My personal favorites are the Ghost of Captain Cutler, The Creeper, and the Spooky Space Kook. There are a few more that I liked but those three are my favorites from the first season.
yes, my top two are the Space Kook first and Cutler second.
Phantom Shadow will forever be my favorite, but you give great reasoning for your choices, and I agree with most of them.
Same that episode made it that I could only watch the show during the day because if how terrified of them I was
even though it was in season three, my favorite villain was in “the creepy case of old iron face”. the whole concept of the villain assisting convicts to escape the warden was awesome and the sharks were nothing short of iconic
I like how his mask was reused for the villain in Frankencreepy movie
@@mynameisfoxx.7198 not just his masked it was him
that #1 was exactly what i was hoping it would be, Jeepers it’s the Creeper, was always my favorite epoisde of scoobydoo since i was little!
For me, Ghost of Hyde and the Creeper were my nightmare fuel. I’ve had recurring nightmares about those two since I first saw them
Ya
Oh my gosh! Me too! The Ghost of Hyde was okay with me. But the Creeper was my childhood nightmare. He scared the shit out of me 😨
One thing I love about the Puppetmaster episode is that the gang had absolutely no reason to get involved other than being narcs. Like, Shaggy finds the violin case full of money, then the mysterious black car it fell out of comes back and takes the violin case from Scooby. That should be the point when you walk away and just be thankful not to have been murdered by the mob who’s money you just nearly stole.
COIN COIN COIN sticking out my hand My son and I use to do that. The mummy needs some more love!
Also, regarding The Black Knight: The Professor's Spectacle's were also what he was trying to relay to whoever would come looking for him because that's what gave Mr. Wickles away.
By wearing his own glasses inside the helmet, he was able to reflect the moon itself through the tri-visor from the museums' skylight panes, henceforth creating The Black Knights' crazy looking eyes.
Pretty accurate assessment; though for the creeper I’d add his voice is a big part of his legend; him yelling his name at the top of his lungs is iconic. I just noticed that the ebeneezer shark guy in the cap cutler episode’s diving suit is the same one as the skeleton in the ship underwater; given we don’t see the character after his exposition scene is it possible he’s a real ghost/related to the literal skeleton in the graveyard of ships? That would be a very disturbing spin off for a supernatural type episode somewhere else addressing it.
He actually yells Paper not Creeper :).
It sounds like both
I’ve always thought that there was supernatural activity in the show. It happens a lot, with the floating bone in the episode with the inheritance being the most well known
The puppet master and the spooky Space Kook always scared me as a kid. As I grew up I eventually got over SSK, but the puppet master still unnerves me to this day haha
I think Hassle in the Castle is my favorite for the skull scene, which, if it wasn't Bluestone, could indicate an actual ghost.
The Spooky Space Kook TERRIFIED me as a child
Are You Aware That Spooky Space Kook Is Gay
The Space Kook was the scariest villain/monster of the whole series.
the creeper was always and still is my favorite episode from scooby doo.
This was a super well made ranking list, and 100% agree with the creeper! Really want his funko pop but it’s crazy expensive!
Looking forward to seeing more from you, you’ve got LOADS of potential with this channel and format !!
Scooby Doo has always been one of my favorite series and I'm glad that it was able to bring me your videos! :)
Ahh such a fun list! The Creeper was also my absolute favorite as a kid; I remember asking my parents over and over to rewatch the creeper episode on vhs lol.
I think the scariest villain for me by FAR was the Green Ghosts. They were TERRIFYING in an episode where they’re popping out of walls, putting people in coffins, and just genuinely looking disturbing to me, even today. I rewatched that episode not too long ago, and idk the nostalgia or something still unsettles me a bit.
Great list, thanks for sharing!
I'm actually glad the headless spectre made it to a good spot on your list. I've always felt that he was a good villain, and I also think the episode has a nice and creepy atmosphere even though they've done the haunted house bit before. Also, yes to the creeper. Not only is he a fun villian, but that episode as a whole has a lot going on - action, a different twist (the gang actually being teenagers), a good song, the bank guard actually being injured... Finally, I fully agree with you on the ape man. Even as a kid, I couldn't really deal with that episode, and as an adult, I feel more annoyed by it and the villain as I did before. Nice channel you have here, good sir.
I remember as a kid never realizing the voices would be the same, The puppet master was easily a top 10 probably even top 5 villain, And his plot was really interesting
Great analysis on the villains, hope you keep making scooby doo videos.
The one that use to scare me the most as a kid was the miner 49er. Idk why but his moans in the mine scared the crap out of me, yet he was always my favorite villain.
Kingston was so good, he was a ghost in the first episode of Chill Out, Scooby Doo.
I always liked the Phantom Shadows as a kid because they looked like Ghost Face and that seemed more grownup when I was younger. As an adult they're still probably my favorite design in the franchise; I was very disappointed we didn't get to see a "real" version of them with the other older monsters in Monsters Unleashed, since the film teases them several times without actually doing anything with the costume.
A blue/greenish Ghostface costume with a black mask on feels like a shiny version.
We sort of got a "real" version. There was a crossover between Scooby Doo and a show called Supernatural, and in it a real ghost entered this specific episode. Check it out, its pretty good, though you might miss some stuff if you haven't watched Supernatural.
@@masedaace5473 I've seen the first season of it. (I've also met the guy who plays Crowley; he's really funny). I've heard good things about it, I'm just *way* out of that show's target demographic.
@@AJadedLizard well, if you like Scooby Doo, and you were ok with Supernatural, then I still recommend it.
Here's a list of the villains you describe, ranked from the least evil to the most evil, with my own thoughts on each one.
27:49
28. Charlie and the Robot
You're right about the inventor's sister. She's possibly one of the few antagonists who got away with it, despite those "meddling kids and their dog." Anyway, Charlie is possibly the gang's friendliest enemy, since he wasn't aware of the damage he was causing. Plus, he's one of the best robots, animated or otherwise, of all time. He kinda reminds me of C-3PO from Star Wars.
31:47
27.The Headless Specter
If he really has a head, how could he see past his ascot to chase the gang and everything? Also, it's interesting to think he's a villain with completely good intentions, unlike everybody else.
9:34
26. The Miner 49ner
Out of all the villains who are actually evil, he's the crappiest. Because, he's not really all that threatening, and he's not scary in the least. He, along with Redbeard and the Caveman, are the only three villains who actually look human. He's not a ghostly villain, just a creepy old man.
18:51
25. The Phantom
He truly is a stereotypical bedsheet ghost. Plus, he's also just a chaser. All he does is threaten the gang and chase them, without trying to put too much effort into being a menacing villain.
21:21
24. The Spooky Space Kook
He's almost like the undead version of Buzz Lightyear with his spacesuit. And you're right. Why couldn't he animated in more positions and angles?
29:04
23. Captain Cutler
He's similar to the Space Kook, they both glow and they mostly chase. However, he is the first villain to trap members of the Scooby gang, by locking Daphne, Fred and Velma in the ship's cabin. So, he's more than a chaser like the other two mentioned above.
6:07
22. The Indian Witch Doctor
I agree with you. I prefer the Tiki Witch Doctor over this guy. This guy wasn't as great. His first scene certainly does straight-up reveal that he's a phony. But then, he still tries to be scary. It's like, forget it, man. We're not buying it.
20:05
21. The Tiki Witch Doctor
He's truly more of a nuisance than an outright villain. After all, he just runs around yelling and chasing the gang, and his robot, Mano Tiki Tia, is more of a threat than him. If the robot wasn't there, the gang could easily have caught him, since he's not much of a threat.
32:38
20. The Phony Phantom
He's the crappiest villain in the entire franchise. He's not on screen in costume for very long, he's easily caught and captured, and his costume is nothing more than a sheet. Really?
10:19
19. The Ghost of Elias Kingston
He's very similar to the greedy butler Edgar from Disney's The Aristocats. After all, like Edgar, he was impatient to get his hands on the fortune, and he was willing to get the competition out of the way, as it were. And he is possibly the only Scooby-Doo villain to ever show remorse for his actions.
16:40
18. The Zombie
He's possibly the dumbest villain on the list. He easily fell for Shag and Scoob's tricks and he wasn't all that aggressive. Just a stereotypical idiot henchman.
7:20
17. The Caveman
He's an interesting villain in that, rather than deal with a supernatural foe, they're squaring off against a prehistoric, unevolved human being. Not a complete monster, just a stone-age human.
16:19
16. The Witch
She's like the Scooby-Doo equivalent of the Wicked Witch of the West, with the way she talks, cackles, uses her magic to appear and disappear and the way she refers to Daphne as "my pretty."
3:45
15. The Scare Pair
You're right. They are better than their boss. And they're definitely two of the most dangerous villains, considering they chase the gang in a car, rather than on foot, like everybody else. The fact that they can drive make them a genuine threat.
8:22
14. The Wax Phantom
Maybe it's because he's a big, green, hulking villain, but this guy reminds me very much of Oogie Boogie from Disney's The Nightmare Before Christmas. At least, unlike Oogie, there was a greedy human being inside, instead of a gross living hive of bugs, spiders and snakes.
3:25
13. Zen Tuo
I agree 100%. He really is one of the most forgettable villains, but his mask does look somewhat cool. But, he really doesn't look all that ghostly, despite being a ghostly warlord, just a Chinese guy in an angry golden mask.
23:50
12. The Phantom Shadows
These guys are definitely two of the more effective Scooby-Doo villains. After all, they did manage to scare off the cousins successfully. If not for Scooby and the gang, they would have succeeded in their evil plan. But, unfortunately, the only downside is they didn't realize the money the were after was useless. So, even if everything worked in their favor, they still would have failed.
13:14
11. The Ghost of Mr. Hyde
In my opinion, one of the best interpretations of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, alongside the Jekyll and Hyde from Burbank Films Australia and the three My. Hydes from The Nightmare Before Christmas. And CERTAINLY less horrifying than the Pagemaster Mr. Hyde. His only downside is that he chose to hide in the Mystery Machine. If he had picked a different vehicle to hide inside, he would have continued his reign of terror and thievery.
4:29
10. The Ghostly Werewolf
I also prefer the Wolfman paired with Dracula and Frankenstein over this guy. And he looks positively gross with his head bald. And I too cannot understand why he doesn't have a name.
2:00
9. The Ape Man
You're right. He really is one of the crappiest villains. His costume is not supernatural, inhuman, ghostly or monster-like, his motives truly are childish, and he is stupid for taking off his mask. Plus, he's a coward and a weak villain, letting himself be outsmarted and intimidated by a mere dog.
22:52
8. The Black Knight Ghost
I too don't understand why he wasn't concerned for the broken museum property. Plus, as an artist myself, I like that his scheme is art-related.
14:28
7. The Phantom Puppeteer
When I saw this episode as a kid, I never knew what his villain name was until I looked it up, because it's never mentioned. While I don't find it too scary, (I've seen far worse), I think his most chilling moment is when he's playing the organ and then disappears in the dark. And, yeah, it IS disturbing to think that he can turn any human being into a lifeless puppet. It's like Pinocchio in reverse.
11:57
6. Big Bob Oakley
My favorite Scooby-Doo villain is Oakley as Frankenstein, because ever since I was a kid, I've always been a Franken fan. Anyway, I too find it frustrating that the gang cannot acknowledge Dracula and Frankenstein by name and instead call them ghosts. After all, needless to say, they've all celebrated Halloween before, and they've faced off against a variety of monsters and ghosts, so you'd think that they'd be able to tell the difference between a ghost, a vampire and a Frankenstein. Furthermore, the four characters played by Oakley, ranked from the least dangerous to the most dangerous are: the Gypsy, Frankenstein, the Wolfman and Dracula.
25:09
5. The Mummy of Ankha
He's only villain to try to kill not one or more of the gang, but the whole gang at once with the buzzsaw. That's truly evil. Plus, when Scooby nails his bandages to the floor, he cannot seem to move, even though he can easily tear himself away, which he does. Also, he CLEARLY does NOT like sawdust or water. It's like kryptonite to him.
30:26
4. Redbeard
He's undoubtedly one of the best animated pirate villains of all time, alongside Disney's Captain Hook and Gloomius Maximus from Rolie Polie Olie. And, yeah, what's up with that sword? It couldn't possibly operate by wire that fluidly.
26:24
3. The Ghost Clown
His defeat at the end truly is one of the funniest villain defeats. The fact that he uses his hypnosis skills to put the gang in dangerous situations makes him one of the most evil Scooby-Doo villains.
17:12
2. The Snow Ghost
To me, this guy is like a savage, meaner albino version of Sulley from Monsters, Inc. The way the villain playing the Snow Ghost, Mr. Greenway, roars to make himself scary, it sounds like all that roaring would leave him with a hoarse throat.
33:09
1. The Creeper
He's referred to as a phantom, but I think he's more of a zombie. After all, the word phantom is generally associated with ghosts, and he does NOT look ghostly in the least. The Creeper is possibly the most evil of them all, because, unlike the other villains, he hurt the bank guard and left him in the road, undoubtedly for dead. That's pretty dark. Plus, it seems as though he's going to do the very same thing to Scooby and his friends. So, given his vile-tempered and aggressive disposition, he's pretty evil for a Scooby-Doo villain.
Hope you like my thoughts. And can't wait to see the ideas I threw your way on your channel soon. Thank you.
I have long said the Space Kook is essentially a fusion of Buzz Lightyear and Skeletor (even though he existed before both of them).
@@darthmeticulous6901 True, but it's his glowing spacesuit that reminds me of Buzz.
@@dylanpietz7855 Understandable. Funny enough, his laugh is what reminds a lot of people of Skeletor.
My top 10
10. Charlie
9. Big Bob Oakley (Various)
8. Witch Doctor
7. Zombie
6. Wax Phantom
5. Phantom Shadow
4. Ghost (Bluestone The Great)
3. Headless Specter
2. Space Kook
1. Captain Cutler
Captain Cutler has always been my favorite since I was little. I remember when I was in Elementary school one of the after school program counselors asked me what I wanted Santa to bring me that year. I told her I wanted Lego Sets if Scooby Doo 2 and specifically a Captain Cutler mini-figure.
Needless to say I was unsurprisingly disappointed that Christmas.
My thought process back then was Santa can only gift real toys, but hey, a kid can hope can’t he? 😂
Yep, you got my top two in your top two spots, but I would reverse them and put the Space Kook first for his terrifying look and sound, and his eerie spacecraft with the red lighting in the cockpit.
Which of these Witch Doctors is your favorite one, the Indian Witch Doctor or the Tiki Witch Doctor?
I love how if you pay close attention each monster has a different walk/run!!
My dad could do the laughs to both the Phantom Shadow and the Space Kook. He would endlessly torment me with them haha it was great. Solid video!
I'm calling Space Kook right now. If he isn't the best, I'll eat a 3 bananas with sprite.
Space Kook was definitely the best.
This was awesome.
The Phantom and Spooky Space Cook's Laugh would fit perfectly for the Giggling Green Ghost. 21:40
I agree with your choices for top 1 and 2. I personally would've put the Phantom ShadowS at 3 just because they really did freak me out as a kid. They always left me feeling like something with me when I watched them. I also like the review for the Puppet Master. He was also terrifying, but I feel like something else that was unique about him that wasn't mentioned or given credit to would be his laugh. I don't know about anyone else, but his laugh was pretty creepy and gave to his creep factor. You said something about when we first encounter his full face and color being creepy in the theater, but what came after first seeing him was that laugh that you wouldn't be able to forget. I also want to give credit that out of all 25 villains he was the only one that could make Velma not like looking for clues anymore and I think that deserves some brownie points. But this was one of my favorite tv shows and I still love it to this day. Thank you for making this video. Happy New Year
Happy that somebody else would rank the phantom shadows high. I would put them at 2 just behind the space kook. Simply just the costume and laugh jumps them to 1. Whenever I think of death all I hear is WHOOOOOOOOOO HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OR HEHEHEHEHEEHEHE CLANK CLANK CLANK
Ghost of Redbeard gets bonus points for being a pretty badass villain while wearing pink.
Minor 49er and Elias are both very iconic and Miner 49er had the cool western setting
I got introduced to Scooby Doo where are you by my uncle at age 7, it was his favorite series as a kid and I spent a week with him one year and every night we would watch the vhs tapes of this series. Sdway will always have a special place in my heart and when I recovered fromy abdominal surgeries from 15-17 this was a constant in my hospital rooms and brought me so much comfort
You forgot to mention this about the bedsheet ghost from the second Scooby-Doo Where Are You episode. It was the only few or may be the only Scooby-Doo episode to not have any suspects in it
I just something with the diving suit that fell on scoopy, at first it's gloves were closed on the legs, then it suddenly showed the gloves opening up. almost like it was gonna grab scoopy there, and even though there's no one inside the suit, it's kinda creepy seeing the gloves open up there.
Suction Cup Man! I love you for this! I was thinking the same thing when I saw those suction cups.
I grew up on this show, thanks to my mother who watched it when it first aired in 1969! I agree with most of the rankings, but I'd give top spots to Space Kook, Charlie, and the Headless Spector (I love the Haunted House Hang-Up episode cause of the set design.). I also agree with the Phantom Shadows: that episode freaked me out when I was younger due in part to some of the reveals and Scooby's expression when he went down the coal shoot. Gotta say though, the BEST part about your ranking was mentioning the chase scene music by Austin Roberts and Danny Jansen: that's what made season two so memorable.
Yes Yes! Scoob Doob! More please!!!! I love your analysis, I love these kinds of videos. Hope to see What’s New Scooby Doo markings on here or even some Scooby Doo movie unmasking! Love this so much! Amazing job
I’m glad you like the headless specter as much as me. He was the only one to every really scare me as a kid. I actually took a lot of story beats from that episode and What the Hex is going on, in my own Scooby style scenario for the Call of Cthulhu ttrpg. My players had so much fun with it since they could play like they were in a scooby episode.
The so-called third season was really the third season of the Scooby-Doo Show that was part of a failed revival of the original.
Well, you earned a sub my good sir,as you certainly got a laugh out of me with the ankha gag- XD
On a more serious note though, this was a very good video with some good jokes, nice explanations of your thoughts, and was well edited. Very well done, and I'll be sure to try to check out more videos of yours when I can.

Can I just say that I love your use of Veggie Tales audio at 5:42? 😂
The creeper really scared the fuck out me as a kid
Me too! He scarred me for life 😮
Penrod Stillwall is my favorite antagonist of this show because a lot of people would probably want to protect their dilapidated inherited property from curious teenagers and ill-intentioned neighbors. And even if he had actually hurt any of them, castle doctrine would've protected him.
Fantastic video you are super underrated!
Loved the video bro keep putting out more videos 💯💯💯
Great Review! You covered everything well! subscribed! Hope this channel gets more clearance with the algorithm.
June Foray. We'll miss you 1917-2017 just shy of her centennial birthday
Spooky Space Kook will haunt your nightmares!!!
Oh yes he will...
Nice ranking dude.
*hex girls playing in the background*❤️
❤️
My dad pretended to be the creeper and scared me so much
Glad I'm not the only one! My dad used to do that too and I screamed 😨
@@kendallthiede373 yeah
The werewolf and snowghost are my favorite villains by far honestly. Those were my favorite episodes.
Would like to see you do a video ranking some of the settings based on creativity and eerie-ness. Such great imagery from Vasquez's castle, the amusement park, the abandoned airfield, the Indian/Native American village on the cliff, the lighthouse and hidden harbor of Cutler's story, etc.
I would love to see you do this with Mystery Incorporated villains
4:13 He does get credit for one thing here:
Shaggy: Y-you sure you want to blow up your storeroom??
Zen Tuo: We can build a new storeroom! (Slams door)
The Ghost Clown has terrified me to this day...
For me the only one that still terrifies me is the phantom shadow yet a night for fright is no delight is still my favorite episode
8:05 boy am I glad he's in there and we're out here...
AND that he's the sheriff
AND that he's in there, and we're out here
oh yeah AND I just remembered...
For me, the one villain who used to creep me out as a kid was the Ghost Clown.
When I was a kid the creeper scared the ever living s**t out of me but over time he didn't (cause I grew up) but he's still my favorite villain.
He did that to me too 😢 I still can't get over that fear 😨
Great video. I love Scooby Doo
Liked the video Nunion. Hopefully you can tackle the other series or just the series in general
The creeper, phantom, black knight, captain cutler, and redbeard are the most memorable to me, both now and as a child. Especially captain cutler, i always thought the noises he made were super cool and eerie.
I remember when I was about 7, we weren't allowed to watch the ghost clown episode because my younger brother was terrified of him.
That's not good 😢 I feel sorry for your brother
Oh my God. As soon as I saw the clown I immediately thought "Look into the pretty gold coin, and you will do as you are told" even though I hadn't seen that episode in at least a decade. Somehow that line remained locked away in my memory all this time.
As a kid.. loved the intro even tho i was scared.. now that i think about it, it really taught us many things.
Very good video, I have been watching Scooby Doo lately. The first time I watched it when I was a child. Recently I watched them all for The second time, still very nice to watch. Greetings from Poland.
