Thanks Jack, I'm glad you brought this up. This has helped me a lot, instead of trying to play the entire song I'll play the trouble spots and keep going over them slowly. Especially the drop thumb, I use to bypass it any way I could, until I made myself do it. What has given me a leg up is a Crowe spacing bridge, having fairly large hands it has really helped.
    Thanks again and take care!

Interesting on that crowe spacing bridge! I've never actually tried any other bridges for my banjo-i always mean to. I'm glad the video helped!!

Good lesson, Jack ! And, YEA!!!! Finally.............Jolene!!!!!! Awe, she's growing fast and looking so cute! I've really been working at practicing every day, especially that I'm working through your 30 day right hand challenge. I've found that when I'm not practicing, I actually unconsciously realize that I'm doing drop thumb exercises in particular, when away from my banjo....just making those movements and using my left hand bent fingers as pseudo strings and striking with my right hand. I think it's helping to instill these movements in my head.

Yeah Jolene is pretty great! And that's great-I remember seeing a study that I think was about basketball. They had people who didn't practice at all, people who practiced daily, and people who visualized the movements daily and found that the people who visualized were much closer in skill to the people who physically practiced. I guess that could carry over to the banjo!
