Welcome to Part II!
Beautiful weather today! Finally got a nice break from the high winds and cold weather. Sun was out all morning. There was a lot of boat traffic so we had to wait to hit my favorite spots and hit other areas where there was less traffic. Caught about 20 trout within 4 hours this morning. 7 slotted and missed some strikes due to a light bite. Flounder were frisky but all were undersize. Caught quite a few barely underslot redfish, but ended up with one 2 point red.
It was like fishing in the A/C all morning, except for the mosquitoes. Looking forward to repeating tomorrow !
Tips/Tactics:
Used straight tail twitch baits with loud colors (chartreuse, pink) with a twitch, twitch, 5 second pause. Bite was just a tap and the fish would move off with it. There were many times when I thought I missed the hookset.
Fished the back of the bayous/marsh areas where the water clarity was better. Weather was AWESOME today! Warm and not a lot of wind. Fished some of my spring spots as the water warmed up in shallower areas next to drop offs, later in the morning and continued to catch fish.
