Those are Yeti Tundra 75's. I have one in the front that I also use as a casting platform. Then I have another 75 that I also use as a live well in front of the center console.

It's a method of reeling in a big fish. You reel down, then pull use the fishing rod to pull up and keep tension on the line, then reel back down and repeat until you land the fish.

Glad you had a great trip with Reel Bolivar Fishing Guide! I've been fishing with Captain Mark for the last 2 years and he taught me almost everything I know about fishing Galveston East Bay. He always knows where the fish are, is a great fishing coach, and has become a great friend!

I was curious if the reefs were holding fish during the colder months. He said they do not. I tried fishing the reefs just to be sure and didn't catch anything. The reefs here in Galveston East Bay are starting to hold fish now that the water temp is up. Went out to the reefs this past Monday and caught a couple of undersized trout. Water clarity is still bad and salinity levels in the bay are still low from all the rain. It's starting to clear up and the reefs should be holding quality fish soon!

Yes, there were birds working a bit further out from the bayou. I've tried fishing birds the last few weeks, but I only end up with gafftop.

The fresh water didn't seem to slow down the bite. I haven't fished this past week, but reports out there are still good. I'm probably going to try and fish the ICW tomorrow to tap into some more salinity and hopefully get on the fish.

It's Goat Island in Galveston East Bay. Fished a couple of the cuts and bayous on the south shoreline.

I bought the jigheads I use in bulk about a year ago. I don't recall the brand. I'll check to see if I have one of the bags still sealed up. Hook size is 2/0.

I must of caught 50 specks that day. It was definitely a "war of attrition". Ended up with almost two limits of trout and a nice flounder. Still fun to be catchin' rather than fishin'. The bigger trout were further out from the bayou. I didn't figure that out until it was almost too late.

Yep! No wind and sunshine! Big tides so tons of water movement. I'll be fishing a lot this week.

It's getting a little over-fished lately. Tide has been high enough for bigger boats to get in. Went in there the other day and there were 3 boats in there.

@@SaltyDogTexasFishing your are definitely right about that. My Shoalwater does not have problems. Those flounder boats are back there allot. Do you know where he got that lanyard for his trolling motor and power pole.

I never noticed the lanyard. I'll ask him about it. If you can get in there during the winter, during a low tide, those reds get stacked up back there.

This video was created last weekend. Didn’t seem like the freshwater negatively effected the bite. Caught a lot of fish but had to find better water clarity. The high winds were more of a problem. Going to fish this weekend again. Hopefully the fish are still biting! Tight lines!

BTW. Just got back from a fishing trip in East Bay and caught the most trout that I've ever caught in one day. Water clarity wasn't great but the trout were hitting the lure as soon as it hit the water.

Those redfish put up a great fight! My favorite fish to catch in the bay. Starting to see more bull reds in the bay lately. Hope to have some new content up soon after these high winds lay down a bit.

Glad you enjoyed the video! Triple Cut is located at the top of the island. You go past Big Pasture and make your way around to the top of the island. It' best to fish on the outside of cuts on an outgoing tide. The larger cut has a deep whole on the inside. On an incoming tide, you want to get inside the cut and cast towards the points outward towards the bay.

I fish all the marshes in Galveston East Bay. The bait and fish move so you have to power fish and hit multiple spots. The water temp came up, so today the marshes I fished the previous two weeks were not producing. If you're in a skiff you have a lot of advantages since you can go deep into the marsh. Go deep into the marsh during an incoming tide and in the afternoons. Fish the mouth of the bayous on an outgoing tide. Look for bait and water movement. Tight lines, bent rods!
