How to repair a key fob (remote key) on Saab 9-3

This video shows you how to repair a key fob / remote key on Saab 9-3 model year 2004 and later. One of the possible problems is that the push button microswitch on the remote failed or it is no longer properly soldered to the circuit board.

If my fob has the other type of buttons, the white rectangle ones, will these still fit the same?

I would look on eBay or Amazon for the correct form factor of the actual push button micro switches that you key fob has. The rest of the soldering process should be reasonably the same.

I took buttons from another circuit board to replace on mine.. I used glue instead of saudering..the buttons feel like they work but it’s not locking or unlocking. Did I ruin it 😢

I have see some options on Amazon. You have to buy a higher quantity but last I checked, the price was about $10.

aliexpress. $1 for 100x 3x6x2.5mm i consider these upgrades as they are much sturdier than the original ones
