    Hello, good video - thanks for that!
    At the beginning I was a bit puzzled about the German license plate on the 9-3.... A license plate from Braunschweig, and then also a rear license plate with a "TÜV" sticker... ;))
    Just discovered your channel and subscribed straight away.
    Best regards from Germany, Michael

    No need to be power over A/C just leave T2 plugged in via OBD, hit exit, 3 times and get security access. Then add keys as shown. Could use a note here about non-OEM Chinese keys that don’t work. Where did you source it?

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  7 месяцев назад

      Mine has been a bit finicky with security access. With all of the ways I’ve experimented, this is the only way I can get it to work. Yeah, Chinese keys often cause issues. I’ve heard some work, some don’t. I personally just like to spend the extra money on OEM 👍🏼

    I'm hoping someone can help. I have the 2006 2.8 V6 Turbo 9-3. My car is running on 5 cylinders at the moment. Running diagnostics it's showing cylinder 3 injection timing 0. All the rest are 2.3. Any suggestions? I've changed plugs, checked injectors, checked coils and they're all fine. I'm confused... getting no CEL either 🤔

      try swapping the injectors between cylinders. I would also recommend posting on some saab Facebook groups to get advice from the community!

    Good video. This is a plague for saab owners - crazy to think such an extreem security and process is needed just for a key. Engineers way over thought this process back in the day. Anyhow, thanks for explaining the security access part which is very confusing. :)

  • @UnknownhumanSA

    Nice and straight forward. These saabs require such specific hardware lile the triplite adapter. As far as I know you can only program a key with the tech 2? Newer devices can't do it?

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  10 месяцев назад +1

      you can do it with an MDI as well. but the tech 2 interface is just better for the older 9-3 imo

    • @AutoAutopsy
      @AutoAutopsy  10 месяцев назад

      Modernized in what sense? You can always get another key cut/made. I have a video showing the process on the 9-5, which should be similar for the OG 9-3 to my knowledge

    • @laurat1129
      @laurat1129 10 месяцев назад

      '99 Saab 9-3 cv here as well. You can still get the old original key fob or newer single key if you need one (or two) for backups. Not sure what you mean by "modernized"?

    • @laurat1129
      @laurat1129 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@Jim-kz2ue Yes, you can still get both kinds for the OG 9-3 on some of the Saab parts sites. Then it has to be programmed or "married" to the TWICE unit as demonstrated in this video. I have the old banana key fob, as well as two of the keys you described. The ones Jacob shows here w/o the metal piece, whatever you call it, are for the NG 9-3.

    Is your TECH2 genuine or chinese clone? I tried adding 3rd key with clone and ended up with only 1 functional key. Scared too much to try again and paid to local Saab repair shop to do the job.

    • @tomitoikka367
      @tomitoikka367 10 месяцев назад

      If I remember correctly there's possibility to program max. 5 keys to your NG9-3. They cannot be removed so when all 5 slots have been taken, you have to purchase a new CIM.
      I'm writing this in our NG9-3CV and all slots have been taken. Currently we have two keys and I've already repaired mine 🥶😁

    • @countryside_hobbies
      @countryside_hobbies 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@tomitoikka367 In this case that was not the problem. Only 2 keys were ever programmed into the CIM and programming with genuine TECH2 succeeded without issues.

    • @anthonyferra7907
      @anthonyferra7907 10 месяцев назад

      @@countryside_hobbies genuine or clone makes no difference. You either did not program them correctly and/or they were bad/used/ not genuine keys. It gives you the key failure reason on the tech 2 screen.

    • @countryside_hobbies
      @countryside_hobbies 10 месяцев назад

      @@anthonyferra7907 Yeah, it shoul not. However I tried twice using exactly the correct method with genuine keys, not sure what happened. On 1st attempt, 2nd key failed and on 2nd attempt 1st one failed so I gave up. There was no clear error code but TECH2 was showing some kind of internal app error with cryptical error code, looked like a sw bug to me. Most likely issue with the card or sw version than device itself.
