i remember when Sora was a little kid some years ago
I saw him play about 5 years ago in Sweden and he was as about as high as the table😂 time flies.
What a great match, sad to see dima lose after all the heart he has been putting this tournament, i missed this dima
Amazing point, congrats sora
I was gonna say the last time I seen him play like that was 2021 for olyþy⁰0
Mocny mecz bez kompromisów - wszystko albo nic💪👊
Brawo Sora 👍🏓
Sora is surprisingly consistent, making very few unforced errors, for his age. He outlasted the veteran player Dima. If he improves his power shots as he grows, he can go far.
Compared to Harimoto who started with incredible backhand with speed, Sora started with incredible consistency rarely seen in young players. Can Sora be the second Harimoto from Japan? Time will tell.
very close game, dima's serves put sora in kind of trouble, but kid power and accuracy is amazing
I love this filming angle😊
I'm convinced on the Sora train now. His receiving game is pristine
I remember when Sora was a little kid playing with Adam borrow
what a comeback🎉🎉
The previous round trip at Lima has unlocked sth inside Matsushima for real
Sora has come along way. Massive win!
Huge win. And only 16 years old! Such a contrast to Harimoto. Incredible mental strength.
He has also been active since he was young, but what is the contrast?
On the mental strength front, Sora has more work to do. It's been his big weakness, but he seems to have overcome it in this tournament.
@@user-jn1lc5uu6qI felt the play style was the contrast. Sora is offensive through and through. While Tomokazu depends a lot on his blocking.
@@anujmchitale That makes sense
Harimoto beast this best at 15 years old, he's elite for sure
As a professional athlete, what used to work doesn't as you become older. Dima is no spring chicken anymore and he's no exception.
Dima is still n.10 in the World 😮
@@antoncigur3727 He was better when he was younger. Which part of the truth don't you understand?
@@seekthetruths22 he won single bronze Olympic medal only two years ago (32) 😮
@@antoncigur3727 For aging athletes, a couple years are like an eternity. Even Ma Long won the Olympic gold medal in 2021 but he hasn't won any major title since then. Coincidentally, Ma Long and Dima are exactly the same age. It's a steep downhill for them after a certain point.
How the hell does matsushima sends all that powerfull balls to the table on high speed, it's such a frustration for all who played him in rio.
Dima played like on olympics and deserved to win, but his opponent just magically didn't miss anything, he either spends 24/7 on the table or put all his good karma and luck on this tournament
ITS BOTH. HE was starting training on 3 or 4 years old. hard worker dima lost to natural talent and high tech japanese tabletennis breeding! u can search for matsuhima family.or watch adam bobrows videos about them
“Dima deserved to win because Sora got everything back on the table.” Useless logic LOL, just admit it that Sora’s consistency is downright ridiculous even at that level.
"24/7 on the table" you got that right.
awesome.....!
Cool..... youngman bt the Tokyo Olym Bronze medallist 👍👍🥳🥳
Man, after witnessing today match against Taiwan, this Matsushima kid got some skills.
Sora breakthrough win imo, he is on his way to have a meteoric rise like felix
I can't believe this is the same little kid that was on one of Adam Bobrow's youtube videos just a few years ago.
Holy cow! Ovtcharov gave it full gas and still lost. Close to his body, when Ovtcharov decides to twist without hopping sideways to use his forehand, it’s weak. Matsushima knew to exploit that. He’s a natural, even when he misses, he doesn’t miss by much, and the shot selection is sound. He probably will get a lucrative Superleague contract next year, as he’s potentially a danger to the CNT.
Yeah Dimas lack of footwork to the left when playing forehands targeting his elbow was costly.
Danger to Cnt is quite the compliment. Let's see how far he goes. Harimoto had that stinking backhand to take on the cnt but Sora lacks the power as of now. We have seen quite a few talented young japanese players in the past but they wither away with time like kenta, koki niwa. To beat the cnt you either need an exceptional forehand or backhand .
@@abhishekdutta144 , he has to progress each year. His development is not yet done.
Good job, i dont like when dima is distracting oponent by breathing
Sora's play looks risky, but is stable actually.
5:03 This kid in not kidding
Ik dima is getting old,but that match was his, honestly the weird part is that he can't get the easy balls on the table
Did not know Sora was only 16 yrs old? Wow!
Dima is the former world No. 1! How high up can this boy fly?
Really will look forward to seeing him to play with Felix.
did the shirt switch throw anyone else off? i initially thought, "wait, where did dima go?"
best performance from Sora so far. he seemed much weaker in T League and All Japan.
sora matsushima is such a demon dayum
I use the word "demon" for ppl who belong to prison or something. I was about to ask you to not insult a passionate player out of nowhere. 😏
he does not mean it as an insult, but a compliment @@urhere976
5:02 insane rally!
This kid is very good
2:46
That was so close. Very well-done Sora could slow down before serving a bit! USA
The new japanese champion? Beating Dima ain't easy at all.
Sora good game👏👍
Wow sora, rising star
Next harimoto
But not as loud👍
Sora is same age and same level as Felix Lebrun. He's just attending less WTT.
Dima should change his rubber forehand to Tenergy 05 Hard or have Butterfly make a new rubber Dignigs 05 Hard 42-43 degrees because he has a lot of mistakes with his forehand, Dignigs 09c doesn't quite fit his blade
congratulations soraaaa😆🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This guy has the potential to be dangerous, like his style better then Mazutani's (the retired Japan player)
Mizutani?
@@user-jn1lc5uu6q yes him Jun Mizutani
rip dima
Does anyone know this youngster's Japanese name ? Please write it here
Bro groaning like he's in climax
Dima's forehand getting worse.
Dima has not gotten back to his peak level since his ankle operation...maybe it's time to retire he looks awkward...
sora is no.1
sors's forehand is better than malong
Serving right side-spin such as BH or tomahawk serve to left-handed player is silly 'cause it leads to strong FH topspin on receive. Ovtcharov lose tactically.
It is obvious that Matsushima, the new generation players of Japan, plays topspin style with more accuracy and confidence and rallies.
I do not know whether Matsushima is stronger player than Harimoto, but it is obvious that Matsushima plays more attractive and entertaining than Harimoto.
Harimoto rised with the hidden promotion of japanese heavyweight balls of 2.7+ gram, which require more fast lightening reaction and less technique. But it leads to short rallies with just 2- 3 touches. It is extremely bored.
Heavyweight balls also make table tennis to become more difficult to play, because players can not fast succeed react, and because more difficult to control heavyweight balls. Thus, typical table tennis beginners need few years of training to reach minimal amateur level, so that enough to play amateur table tennis games for funs for communications and for relax and for exchanging emotion. But lets note, BEGINNERS NEEDS YEARS OF TRAINING. It is too much time. And majority of table tennis beginners leave table tennis sport, because it requires too much time of training to reach minimal amateur levels to plays table tennis games as fun attractive sport games and physical exercises. Too much time to reach minimal amateur level. It is very stupid. It hinders widespread table tennis sport as social sport.
Need apply new lightweight balls of 2gram, in order to make table tennis become easier to plays for every beginners. With new lightweight balls of 2 gram, it will be extremely easier to play table tennis for beginners. It will pull extremely larger range of people to plays table tennis as social sport for live for all. Look at badminton, it requires about 1-few weeks training, then beginnners can plays amateur badminton games for funs/emotion/physical exercises. Look at billards, it requires only 1 weeks of training to reach minimal amateur level to begin play billard games too. There are so much people playing badminton, and extreme enormous people playing billard. But there are very few people plays table tennis. But table tennis require few years to reach minimal amateur level. Very stupid table tannis time requirement.
Table tennis equipment manufacturers are too fool to promote heavyweight balls. When table tennis can not attract much new beginners, because table tennis is too difficult and time training hunger for beginners, then how can they sell much more table tennis equipment as balls, racket, rubbers ? If they want to sell much their product, and scale their business, then they must promote lightweight table tennis balls of 2 gram, to attract more new people to table tennis. The more new people play table tennis as amateur players for funs/social communication/physical exercises, the more people will be interesting in watching professional table tennis tournaments/championships.
Peace! Dima; stop that tode prossy. It doesn't suite your mouth but to the Asian players indeed. Slava Boko😇 ✝ P.s. Sora; Iesu sa ma ga anata o aishite i masu amen. Your first name means something in Finnish. Maranatha!
why dima doesn t quit table tennis?
