    Sora is surprisingly consistent, making very few unforced errors, for his age. He outlasted the veteran player Dima. If he improves his power shots as he grows, he can go far.
    Compared to Harimoto who started with incredible backhand with speed, Sora started with incredible consistency rarely seen in young players. Can Sora be the second Harimoto from Japan? Time will tell.

    Holy cow! Ovtcharov gave it full gas and still lost. Close to his body, when Ovtcharov decides to twist without hopping sideways to use his forehand, it’s weak. Matsushima knew to exploit that. He’s a natural, even when he misses, he doesn’t miss by much, and the shot selection is sound. He probably will get a lucrative Superleague contract next year, as he’s potentially a danger to the CNT.

    • @DQ2121

      Danger to Cnt is quite the compliment. Let's see how far he goes. Harimoto had that stinking backhand to take on the cnt but Sora lacks the power as of now. We have seen quite a few talented young japanese players in the past but they wither away with time like kenta, koki niwa. To beat the cnt you either need an exceptional forehand or backhand .

  • @abstractexchange5057
    @abstractexchange5057 10 месяцев назад +6

    It is obvious that Matsushima, the new generation players of Japan, plays topspin style with more accuracy and confidence and rallies.
    I do not know whether Matsushima is stronger player than Harimoto, but it is obvious that Matsushima plays more attractive and entertaining than Harimoto.
    Harimoto rised with the hidden promotion of japanese heavyweight balls of 2.7+ gram, which require more fast lightening reaction and less technique. But it leads to short rallies with just 2- 3 touches. It is extremely bored.
    Heavyweight balls also make table tennis to become more difficult to play, because players can not fast succeed react, and because more difficult to control heavyweight balls. Thus, typical table tennis beginners need few years of training to reach minimal amateur level, so that enough to play amateur table tennis games for funs for communications and for relax and for exchanging emotion. But lets note, BEGINNERS NEEDS YEARS OF TRAINING. It is too much time. And majority of table tennis beginners leave table tennis sport, because it requires too much time of training to reach minimal amateur levels to plays table tennis games as fun attractive sport games and physical exercises. Too much time to reach minimal amateur level. It is very stupid. It hinders widespread table tennis sport as social sport.
    Need apply new lightweight balls of 2gram, in order to make table tennis become easier to plays for every beginners. With new lightweight balls of 2 gram, it will be extremely easier to play table tennis for beginners. It will pull extremely larger range of people to plays table tennis as social sport for live for all. Look at badminton, it requires about 1-few weeks training, then beginnners can plays amateur badminton games for funs/emotion/physical exercises. Look at billards, it requires only 1 weeks of training to reach minimal amateur level to begin play billard games too. There are so much people playing badminton, and extreme enormous people playing billard. But there are very few people plays table tennis. But table tennis require few years to reach minimal amateur level. Very stupid table tannis time requirement.
    Table tennis equipment manufacturers are too fool to promote heavyweight balls. When table tennis can not attract much new beginners, because table tennis is too difficult and time training hunger for beginners, then how can they sell much more table tennis equipment as balls, racket, rubbers ? If they want to sell much their product, and scale their business, then they must promote lightweight table tennis balls of 2 gram, to attract more new people to table tennis. The more new people play table tennis as amateur players for funs/social communication/physical exercises, the more people will be interesting in watching professional table tennis tournaments/championships.
