Sky, I totally agree. From what I've read, and what I can extract from the lyrics myself, this song seems to be about embracing the ability to let go of that which truly does not matter, making a concerted effort to become the best version of yourself, and learning to live in the moment and not take this precious gift of life for granted.
This song is about evolution. The line "ride the spiral to the end, we may just go where no one's been" sums it up nicely. Also look up the Fibonacci Sequence and compare the lyrics in the verses to the numbers in the sequence if you really want your mind blown🥳
First of all, you did, indeed correctly pronounce "Lateralus". :) Secondly, it has been far too long since you've reacted to Tool. Please, react to them much more frequently. :) The "true" meaning is up to you.
Ironic she said it right all three times when every other reactor butchers it and doesn’t bother to correct themselves. Good job on actually using phonics!
The first time I saw them for the tour of this album in 01, Maynard was behind a white screen to Danny's right, so all you could see was his silhouette. Justin still had long hair and was doing groove thing for his timing in the corner the whole concert. Standing only floor tickets were insane :) You can't go wrong with Fear Innoculum album. Invincible, Culling Voices, Descending, Pneuma are my favourites. Also, Jambi, Wings for Marie 1&2, Pushit, Third Eye, Schism, The Grudge etc. Their earlier albums had shorter songs and were more aggressive. I think someone else mentioned doing the whole collection in order. Would be worth it to appreciate their talent, and just how much they have all grown and improved over time.
Push It off the Salival album is a journey through your conscious. It’s a live track and he tells you to find a comfortable space. Long song but worth every second.
Excellent choice of songs, this song is amazing. No worries on the headphones, ya just gotta make sue with what you have for the time being. Loving the channel and the music you react to 👍👍
So here is the thing with Tool and Lateralus. You hear this song and you immediatelly love it. It may now even be the best song you've ever heard. Then you read the lyrics and try to understand the meaning and your mind is getting blown, how insanely good it is. And then .... And then you find out that the song is played to the Fibonacci sequence and its original name was 987, wich is guess what? , a 16th number in Fibonacci sequence and also a time signature of the song. How crazy is that ? Mind blown totally !
Here Sky, If you thought Lateralus was totally amazing, then you should also know that this song is very heavily rooted in the Fibonacci Sequence. Checkout these 2 videos on it: ruclips.net/video/uOHkeH2VaE0/видео.html & ruclips.net/video/Ew939Ap0KaE/видео.html
Such a great song from a great band. Tool have been around for a long time, and it never ceases to amaze me the creativity of Maynard and the band. Keep rocking out the awesome videos you rule 🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥
1. Get good headphones, it’s well worth it. 2. Stop and go back to the beginning of Tool’s catalogue and do it front to back, skipping over the songs you’ve already done. I promise you the Tool Army will come in masses and we will get to watch you have the ToolJourney. #ToolArmy #SpiralOut
You should definitely check the meaning of lyrics and what this song is famous for, the Fibonacci spiral structure. Maynard sings syllables in a way that follows mathematical progression of numbers in Fibonacci sequence. This mathematical progression can be presented in ever growing spiral. The main message of the song is to step out from our conceptions and open ourselves for growth. To ride the spiral, to embrace the unknown, to not be afraid to step outside from the mundane life and to explore our meaning in order for us to grow as humans. As he perfectly says - 'Swing on the spiral of our divinity and still be a human'....
I've been on a 10,000 Days, fear inoculum kick for the last year I forget how fucking good lateralus really is. And my state you can only have the medical herb I'm trying to get that because like I've said in the past I'm going through cancer treatment so right now my drug of choice has always been real good bourbon I don't drink a lot just enough to take the edge off but it takes me there when I listen to tool especially
There aren't any Tool songs that I don't like, more it's just like a list of songs ordered from those I listen to least, up to those I listen to nearly daily. On any given day, there's a good chance I'd want to listen to any song on that list, rather than music from any other band. As an audio engineer, I listen to all sorts of music, but no one other band saturates my ears as often. Not by a long shot. 🌀
seen them in concert like 5 times ..... seen puscifer...... perfect circle... always awesome. theyre coming again first of the year. get your ticket and enjoy :)
Hi Sky! So in some of your other videos (I've been listening to new stuff right along with you) you say you are an old rocken roller at heart, as am I, but I've noticed you have no Led Zeppelin. So here is a two parter for you. Tool does a cover of Zeppelin's "No Quarter" which is amazing. I think it would be cool for you to do first Zeppelin's original, then go right into Tool's version. They are both great, but Tool owns their version like it is their own. Pure genius. Thanks for being you. 😉
Hey SKY 🌹 It's been a minute. Thank you for bringing the 💓.. Made my week. .. has anyone ever told you you're welcome? You are very much welcome! 😚 Stay chill baby girl 😎
It's funny that you mentioned a tool song that we don't like. I haven't found one yet but people often ask me what my favourite Tool song is and invariably it is whatever song I happened to be listening to at the time
About your pink Floyd comment, I sometimes describe Tool as Pink Floyd of the 90s lol. It's the closest I can describe until I get them to listen to it.
You're supposed to PUFF PUFF Give, not bogart the chronic that's bad manners! Now please pass it over? LOL.. Great reaction and song choice SKY.. Have a good one..
If you do requests, please react to 'The Warning' they're an awesome power trio of sisters from Mexico: DISCIPLE - ruclips.net/video/p9GcS8ptpCY/видео.html
Of course there is no bad Tool song, but I'm actually going to try and think of what my least favorite song is. I bet that's hard to do for most fans but I've never really thought of it 🤟
IMO. This band is the greatest of all time.
well yeah :)
Yup
I want to disagree, because there are so many great bands out there, but honestly I can’t. They are amazing. They truly might be the best.
@@jainelson8840 But why do you want to disagree?!?!? TOOL IS GOATED
Your assessment would be a correct one

Oh dear, Lateralus + Sky reaction = perfect way to end the day

song was definitely made to be played with some high quality headphones and Kush!
JMO, I believe each member of Tool is a perfectionist and they will not put out a bad song.
First of all, you did, indeed correctly pronounce "Lateralus". :) Secondly, it has been far too long since you've reacted to Tool. Please, react to them much more frequently. :) The "true" meaning is up to you.

Their new album Fear Innoculum is amazing. It needs to be listened to in its entirety. You will need lots of green.

Only Tool can make you ask yourself "Is that it?" at the end of 9 minutes :)

Yes totally!
@Sky Anderson - Fun Fact about Maynard…He’s a huge fan of the famous American Visual Artist, Alex Grey.

Hear me out, research this song. It's a whole entire rabbit hole.
I didn't like much Tool and their songs...but I know they're one of the greatests.. Anyway, love you Sky.

Personally I don’t bye into the looks of people on any channel.
Doobs and TOOL pair well together though.
Peace friend!🤘
