Agreed, I'm turned off immediately when I see people don't really respect the music or the band. It's pretty easy to see when someone is making an effort to get into, and then actually really getting into it! Teez does it right.
Dude, Parabol/Parabola is from the same album and it's sick af, it's technically two song but listening to them separately is sacrilege, it basically 1 song.
@@radbarij They're equally good musically imo. Lateralus has that crazy fibbonachi sequence stuff going for it tho which makes it more impressive I guess.
I like how you really pay attention to the music & take notes, letting it play through without interrupting the song. And you've got the start of the right ingredients for a successful reaction channel, the holy trinity of rock if you will. They are Pink Floyd, Tool & Metallica. They have massive amounts of the most loyal & intensely dedicated fans. I scanned the comments really quick & surprisingly didn't see anyone mention the way they wrote it. The time signature is in that of the Fibonacci Sequence. The first verse starts with a run ascending 1-1-2-3-5-8-5-3 and finishes by descending with 13-8-5-3 then in the second verse does a complete run up then back down 1-1-2-3-5-8-5-3-2-1-1-2-3-5-8-13-8-5-3. For more information about the Fibonacci Sequence you should look it up for yourself because it would be a whole book typed out on here.
small correction: the time signature is not in the fibonacci sequence, rather, it's the lyrics that follow the progression. the time signature alternates between 9/8, 8/8, and 7/8 throughout the song
@@TeezMcGee Check this short video out. It provides some really interesting insights into the creation of this song: ruclips.net/video/uOHkeH2VaE0/видео.html
Tool is a really deep band. The fact that you liked it so quick, says to me, you are one of us. Enjoy the ride dude, your gonna love it. I have only one suggestion, follow along with the lyrics from the beginning. How he says something is just as important as what he's saying.
I'd reccomend checking out the song's connection to the Fibonacci Sequence, makes you appreciate just how intricate and thoughtful their approach to song cronstruction is. Also I think the song 'changing' is when they switch time signature but I'm not certain.
Same, Marlena. I remember my boyfriend played them for me back in like, 2004, and I went WHO IS THIS. He was shocked and gave me the entire discography up to that point. Favorite band in the entire world.
In the beginning of the song the shooting in the distance was the drummer Danny Carey. Great reaction and you can’t go wrong with any song. I recommend Push It from the salival tour.
This song is art. ART! These guys are 4 masters at their craft and they turn out incredible music. You’re going to fall into a deep rabbit hole with all of the stuff TOOL has. Loved your reaction.
TOOL is simply something else. A spiritual experience that cannot be explained or described, just felt. So often the final 2-3 minutes of their songs just make me feel like my soul is being ripped from my body and pulled into a higher dimension.
Four masters of music at work. Excellence takes time and Tool sure does take theirs. Only thing that kills me about them. And people they are not getting any younger, let's hope they at least put out two more. Welcome to the army sir.
I remember... THIS album drooped 20 YEARS AGO! Talent is timeless! Cannot wait until you experience Fear Inoculom (entire album) almost 20 years later!
Tool Army Here, the beats you hear at the beginning are from an ultrasound of a babies heart beat, there are no strings in TOOL only a singer, a guitar, a bass and drums, that's how talented they are. Please do TOOL( THE GRUDGE) epic scream and best outro known to man. Welcome to the Tool Army.
If you’re into watching something funny from tool you should react to the “fan incident” where a fan comes on stage. Thesinger Maynard, uses his mma background to slam the fan to the ground, pin him down and continue to sing the song to near perfection
Another band connected to Tool, since they both formed in Los Angeles in the early 90s, is Rage Against The Machine... would certainly check out both bands if you have the time. Enjoying your reactions! 👍
Tool can certainly open up the way someone listens to music. When you dive into some Puscifer and A perfect circle, you can appreciate it that much more!!!!
The beginning beat is a babies heart beat via ultra sound. Black then White is all I see in my infancy. The song is also written in the Fibonacci sequence which is a math formula. Welcome to the Tool Army!
Love the look of amazement at 8:22. The beginning of the song follows the Fibonacci sequence in its syllabic pattern. The amazing thing about it is this feels like an average TOOL song, so you have plenty of wild rides to go.
Teez TOOL is good friends with a band called RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE. They are a mix of ROCK and RAP. This band spitz hard barz over insane rock grooves. This band is extremely political. Their music is almost 20 years old but is still relevant today. Check them out.
This is my favorite song ever, too. One thing about Tool is the more you listen, the better they get. Tool is perfect to blast in the car and feel the bass/beat. When you can 'feel the rhythm' of the song, their transitions are so seamless that when you can bob to the beat, it's so tight when it hits. A key to being able to keep time is to stay with the beat; it'll come back around. You can get a couple down beats but it'll switch to upbeats before it comes back. I hope that makes sense. Welcome to the fold. I would also suggest you go back and do their early stuff first. Going in order will give you some of the sense that us fans have had all these years(without the wait lol) and you can hear their progression album to album before you're ready for 7empest. lol 🤘
Their drummer is the best drummer in the world. Opinions may vary but Danny is to the drums what John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) was to the drums back in the 70’s. He’s a true innovator. He’s an incredible drummer and very few can do what he does. They can copy but they can’t create the way he can
You’re videos are great! I recommend listening to it with the lyrics. Honestly all reactions should be done with the lyrics IMO. It’s more enjoyable to watch someone’s reaction (especially to this song) when they are listening while looking at the lyrics. If you can get the lyrics for us to see at the same time as your seeing them is even better. Been a fan for 16 years now, seen them live 5 times as well as many other bands. No one even comes close for me. If you like drumming you should do a ‘Pneuma’ studio version and Danny Carey drum cam version double reaction. But any song really. ‘Pushit’, ‘Invincible’, and ‘Descending’ are my current favourites but that changes all the time.
Awesome reaction! I love seeing you experience this stuff for the first time, and giving it your full attention. Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride. I highly recommend The Grudge and Parabol/Parabola.

This song was constructed using the fibonacci sequence. A formula that creates the Golden Spiral found in nature. It's in seashells, sunflowers, leaf and cellular structures. The pattern takes the proceeding 2 numbers of a sequence to calculate the current number.. So... 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13.... Maynard uses these in the syllables of the lyrics... 1 Black 1 then 2 white are 3 all I see 5 in my infancy 8 red and yellow then came to be.. In Alchemy, people are born and grow through a process known as TRANSMUTATION, starting with NIGREDO (blackening or necrosis), ALBEDO (whitening or ablutio), CITRINITAS (yellowing or xanthosis), and finally RUBEDO (reddening or iosis). This is the process by which the PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (also called the MAGNUM OPUS or "GREAT WORK") is created. So when Maynard says "Black then White are all I see, in my infancy. Red and Yellow then came to be, reaching out to me, lets me see." He is referring to a growth or change in his Spirit through Alchemy. This sort of growth is mentioned in several tracks by Tool (notably 46&2), and is also heavily featured in the writings of Carl Jung and Friedrich Nietzsche. Alchemy also holds dear the concept of the GOLDEN RATIO, also called PHI (symbol ϕ). 1.618 is the approximate value for Phi, and is what people mentioned in the comments about living creatures and art having proportions built on this idea (spirals on shells, Leonardo DaVinci's paintings, etc). This is my first vid watching of yours. I'll probably check out some others and see how it goes. They actually have a song whose focus is entirely upon that idea, which is "Parabol / Parabola". Two songs that make a whole. Don't worry, you'll be able to tell when the songs switch over.
Pronounced lat-er-AL-us, emphasis on 3rd syllable. Tool likes to invent or contort or even revive long-forgotten words at times. It's part of the fun. :) This is one of my top 3 all-time favorite songs, so inspirational and epic. What a message for us all, huh? Just strive to grow and improve and ultimately attain a higher level of understanding and existence. I bought a guitar and eventually invested way more money than makes sense just to learn to play this song and Tool's Pushit. Nothing less than a bucket-list item for me. Would love to continue this journey with you!
Love your expression just before they said " over thinking, over analyzing, separate the body from the mind" In other words let it go and be yourself and the possibilities are endless. ie: The spiral.
Tool is the greatest band ever. They rarely miss on a song.try Tool No Quarter. It’s a Led Zeppelin cover but one of their best song I think. Great reaction 👍
Danny Carey, the drummer, created Earth so He'd have somewhere to drum. You should react to the drum video of Pneuma (from their newest album, Fear Inoculum). You'll definitely appreciate that shit.
Have you heard of the fibonacci sequence? It's a mathematical equation that occurs in nature. Research Lateralus and the fibonacci sequence. Theirs many ways the sequence is incorporated in the song but the first easiest interesting thing to note, is the number of syllables in the verse :)
If you’ve never heard Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine... I think it’s the most timely song right now. Really sums up what’s going on in the world right now.
The way you listen is so respectful to the music, I appreciate it so much. Tool makes you FEEL. Now you know why we're such massive fans. 🤙🏽

Love your expression just before they said " over thinking, over analyzing, separate the body from the mind" In other words let it go and be yourself and the possibilities are endless. ie: The spiral.
Christopher Bailey thank you, sincerely! ❤️
Tool is the greatest band ever. They rarely miss on a song.try Tool No Quarter. It’s a Led Zeppelin cover but one of their best song I think. Great reaction 👍
Welcome to the Tool army
Nice brother! Now you are ready for Tool-Pneuma
The Awakener oh shit lol
Nice reaction my friend 😎
Danny Carey, the drummer, created Earth so He'd have somewhere to drum.
You should react to the drum video of Pneuma (from their newest album, Fear Inoculum). You'll definitely appreciate that shit.
Yeah buddy keep Toolin
Stephen Morelli I defiantly will, One Love 🙌

Danny Carey is a beast!
Omar Ceniceros he is something else 🔥
I could see you growing the same brain wrinkles that I did the first time I heard Lateralus. This album changed my life...plan and simple. Blessings.

Vicarious
Dynamics man, they own them shits.
Can't wait for you to do Pneuma or 7empest
Haha im here again, c’est la vie i guuss🤘
Have you heard of the fibonacci sequence? It's a mathematical equation that occurs in nature. Research Lateralus and the fibonacci sequence. Theirs many ways the sequence is incorporated in the song but the first easiest interesting thing to note, is the number of syllables in the verse :)
I highly recommend a reaction video to The Cure Prayers for Rain, A Forest, Same Deep Water as You or From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea.
Most TOOL fans think that this is one of their best songs..
If you’ve never heard Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine... I think it’s the most timely song right now. Really sums up what’s going on in the world right now.
Been hearing a lot about that record man, I think it’s time to give it a go, thank you!
