  • To install the front derailleur cable and housing for a grip shift are the same as the rear derailleur as shown in our previous video on our Mongoose restoration. We replace the cable and housing for the front derailleur shimano gripshift. The process is the same for a mountain and hybrid bike. We also show you how to adjust the front derailleur on this mountain bike to allow for smooth shifting. Also added new seat post and saddle acquired from Ebay. Finally, we take a look at the final product which works as good as the day it was new.

    you can usually find bikes like this in the dumpsters of apartments or at a yard sale for next to nothing, they are built to be 1-4 year disposables, about the time the tires or chain wear out everything else is wearing out, the refurbishing cost might only be 20-30 bucks
