I've owned plenty of civics and nothing hits home like an 8th gen sedan. That baby ran me up to 300k until a deer ended it's life.

I want all the 80s-00 hondas. All of them.
We love our children all the same but some are more special then others. What all models you name have in common is they are low, with a low seating position. For grandma's a hell to get out of, if you lowered your civic even more.. Also they where fast compared to the engine volume, great handling after 2000 they went a different way. As I explain in my response to this video.

I wanted a si because the 4 door option, reliability and one of the only sedans left with manual transmission. In my search, 8th gens have to many miles, mods and bad paint. 10th gen I didnt like how big the sedan looked. I also like the nostalgia behind the na motor, nothing like a high revving na motor. I settled on 9th gen👌

It’s just paint.....if you can find one never modded, no accident and decent mileage you should buy. I got mine one owner no accident and he never modded because he was not into the modding scene. It had paint peeling but because of that I was able to get him to drop 1000 off original sale price. Got my 2006 si for 5k lol in 2021.....car was perfect driving condition for being 15 years old
When it comes to 8th gen they had a really bad clear coat from factory. Out of all things, that is the only thing you could actually gloss over. There was a point in time when Honda had a recall and they'd paint the car again for free. That's why those that have been repainted after some time seem to hold value, otherwise it would be bargained down.
I originally wanted an 8th gen si coupe but couldn’t afford it at the time so I went with an EX, years later I bought an S2000. The civic has been a great daily! Very fun, great mpg, and reliable.

Only Honda I've owned is an 07 Si coupe. It's an amazing car to me. K20Z3 with an 8600 rpm redline. FI said peak power was 7800 rpm, but that's where secondary vtec kicks in. Stock 197bhp (about 172whp). I've been fbo with a dyno tune at 215whp for a year now.
I've been wanting to do an AWD Civic build for awhile now and have been gathering parts. But instead of using an older chassis like everyone else, I may just be the first to AWD my 8th gen Si.
8th gen si was the best car I’ve ever owned, nothing was as raw to floor on a back road
The capability and handling dynamic of the front double wishbone out-does any power bump in newer Si, except for GenX....However, the 1.5T lets it down since the power-train isn't great for continuous lapping and Honda engines are expected to have longterm durability, even at extremes. The Ideal setup would be 11th Gen Chassis with 2.4L engine. Hopefully Honda does it for 2022 Si. 11th longer wheelbase should be a good fit for the bigger NA engine. Personally, I'm loving the economy from my base 10th Gen 6MT, which I track, but it doesn't have enough power to pull pass the Turbo or 2.4L on the straights (a problem that the 2000 si would also have).

@@jdsimons6115 people tend to hate on the b series but it's funny cuz they can actually 🚬 the newer civics when you build it properly that's just me though when I had my DB1 with the GSR built motor I used to beat si especially sedans
since they were heavier the coupes were more of a challenge though

the 6th gen is the EM1 from 99-2000, the 7th gen is the ep3 from 2001-2005, and the 8th gen is the fa5/fg2 from 2006-2011.

That’s what I thought I have a 8th gen and it’s an 08. Never getting rid of it but I felt they broke the gens down wrong he separated the si from the civic putting our gen only at 6. Who is right? I’d say it’s an 8th
@@markramos6963 separating the SI gens from the Base models is silly and confusing IMO. literally everyone in the honda community refers to their SI gen # the same as the base model #

I agree, the Em1 is my favorite Si of all time. Something about the electron blue paint on that body and the Dohc vtec sticker on the side made all the difference in the world.
Yeah it was in my opinion the best SI the red and the blue model plus they don't look ugly like the newer ones especially 4 doors

And at 8:00 you had it start at 2007. The sedan Si didn’t come out until 07, but they had the Si coupe out in 2006.
The community pretty much regards it as peak Si in my personal experience.

I have an EP3 as well. The stock engine is not that fast; but the reliability is good. A lot of choices for engine modifications as well.

Had an 8th gen base model (07 DX-G 5 speed) and loved it. Drove my buddy's 9th and 10th gen and got inspired. A month ago, I bought a 10th gen Si (FC3.) No regrets.

Usually people skip over the 3rd/4th generation civics for some odd reason, which baffled me because that's where the Si started....
10th gen is the fastest out the box and makes the most power without building the head/block and for less money 🤷🏻♂️ 9th Gen is a sexier bulky version of the 8th,

On the 1/8 miles and 1/4 not a single one 8th and 9th gen SI have put in front of me trough the years 2014-2017,
2014-2015 I was stock with stock ecu just good tires
2016-2017 b18c camshaft and a dyno tune to 152whp,
And with given the fact that the EM1 have disadvantages to not have an LSD when I put a LSD b16b transmission and a dc2 swaybar, the car handle way better than a similar mod 8th or 9th, or at least I didn’t toast my brake on 10min of track like my buddy

First DOHC Vtec we got was the 1993 DA Integra it came with the rare B17a engine with 160Hp, next up we got the 1994 Del Sol Si with the 160hp B16a3. EM1 wasn’t the first DOHC Vtec we got
!999 EM1 hands down best Si ever made.
I owned a 99 Sir and a 2000 Sir (I'm up in Canada). It had a few extra options than the American Si if I remember correctly, one being heated outside mirrors. Either way, 2 of the best cars I ever owned. That B16 screamed to 9000 rpm and reliable as all hell. Also had daytime running lights and ABS. I don't believe the US Si had those features

I personally like the 2002-2005, you can get them so cheap too. Definitely on my radar for a little project car.
Very underrated car. I owned 2 if them. An 02, then an 05 HFP which was a fantastically fun DD. Drove an EP3 for 16 years between the two of them.

I own a 95 delsol, with orig. B16a3, and i love it, i turbo charged it, redline went from 8200rpm, to 9200rpm, its a blast to drive👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I have an 08 Civic Si that I bought bone stock. It was a bit expensive, but it had less than 100k miles on it. Being a Honda I was able to replace the clutch and drop the transmission out of it by myself no problem with the help of some tools and google. I plan on keeping it for a long time, and eventually getting a Type-R when the price on those come down. I

Don’t let this video distract you from The fact that Hector is gonna be running three Honda Civics with Spoon engines. On top of that, he just came into Harry’s and ordered three T66 turbos with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust.

@@garboi8976 sorry I’m so late to reply. As far as interior, it holds up to everyday use pretty well. I would say that the center console area cloth and the door cloth gets pretty used looking but, wiping them down ever so often does the trick. I changed the shifter as well( I went with acuity short shifter). Everything else is pretty much stock and it been pretty good to me. I hope this helps
@@garboi8976 Also, the infotainment system is pretty good as well. It does take pairing it twice to get your device to show up( just when you want the name of the song being played to show up, close the app then open app back up). I would buy a subwoofer to get more bass but other than that it’s awesome
I agree with you. The EM1 is the best SI. And definitely is the car I will own for life. That’s why I still keep mine.

The SCCA dumped the 1st gen CRX si into the same class in autocross as the Corvette when it was released. It will always be my favorite Si. My favorite Civic would be the EF sedan. They look so clean lowered on some nice wheels.
I've got a 1990 CRX Si with a B18b now buying a 10th gen Si Coupe for the daily excellent cars no doubt.
Had a 90 si hatch in black and a 91 si in red with b18c5 swap + 75 shot. Fun cars for sure.

my first manual was an EP3, 5th gen Si.. damn i loved it very spacious and after the coilovers and reflash it was pretty quick handled nicely but now i have a b15 spec V... much better much more fun lol

MY fa5 is a beast with 45k original miles, I bought it stock, it is now full bolt on and on e85 it makes around 225 to the wheels revving to 8600rpm and its tuned by me :)

I have a 2011 si sedan and love it and with 155k miles it runs flawlessly and it’s none stock I highly recommend a civic si but the 8th gen is my favorite
Now do a video about SiR level offered in europe and japan the CRX SiR and the EF9 SiR and the EG6 SiR and the EK4 SiR all of them made around 168hp-174hp from factory

Yeah... the EP3 was like that last donut in the box no one wanted cause it had no flavor. Between the weird shifter location and that weak K series everyone pretty much passed lol.
