Honda's are well engineered cars. I don't understand the hate. Reliable, quick (depending on the trim), good build quality, fuel efficient, great paint options (though on 8th and 9th gens the clear coat sucks). In Japan, this hate towards Honda doesn't seem to exist. Seems to only be here in America. I guess it comes down to if you prefer front wheel drive or not. For me, I don't have a preference so I don't mind having front wheel drive. Im aware that lots of people apply the pep boy special to base model civics to make the look like an Si or Type R. But that shouldn't speak for the whole Honda community. I currently own a bone stock Orange Fire Pearl 9th Gen sedan and even non car people give me compliments on the color. Someday I would like to own a Type R. Especially an FD2R. I really admire the passion for good engineering behind the Honda brand and I salute the tuning companies like Mugen and Spoon Sports that tune some of these cars to they're max potential. I would LOVE to be an engineer for Honda.

Now my 89 is my favorite car I’ve owned.
Got a Civic on 2015 and has by far been the best car I have ever had. Not used for racing although I have had it over 100 several times but just a clean, fun, great handling car that has no mechanical problems in the 5 years I have owned it.
Ive got an 8th gen Honda Civic LX and not an SI or Type R. It might be the lowest trim but I LOVE it and I don't care what people say. Everytime I get inside the car, I feel like I am sitting inside a sports car.
I don't know why... but! I love the Honda Civic. Especially... the EF, EG, & EK Hatches! Even if I don't own one anymore, I see a video about the civic I jump on it. It's versatile and just a fun vehicle to have. It's even more fun when you swap the motor.
I currently own 2 Honda’s. A 7th gen Accord and a 10 gen Civic. I love both my Honda’s, I love the Honda Brand. They are affordable. Easy to fix, good on gas and reliable. The civic type r doesn't need AWD, the car wouldn't be a civic anymore. The car scene today is getting cringy. People are just butt hurt how the CTR looks and it's not a subaru.
Type r need AWD imo
Exactly!
And its faster than an STI..... Just saying 🤷🏼♂️
@@wavy.k1d70 no it doesn’t. It beat all the rivals on the Nurburgring using fwd. if you want awd buy a Subaru or golf R plain and simple.
@@JDMHMONGBOY96 To be fair, nurburgring records mean nothing, but yeah I like how Honda keeps it traditional for the Type R (maybe except turbo but that gets a pass, almost everyone likes turbos)
Awd would just make it heavier and less precise to drive. Which is why it's often chosen as a better hot hatch than the golf R or Focus RS.
Civic is a legendary level car that will go down in history as one of if not the greatest, it’s the car of the people!
Better than a Beetle.
@Death Alive if u never drive a Honda before u gonna regret it in a couple of decades i guarantee u 🙏

I do care about fuel economy. Love getting 40 MPG in my daily driven 1991 Civic DX hatchback.
I think haters be hating because they be buying 6 or V8 cars and they keep them stock 😂
And hondas they always boost and customize their cars, people who hates hondas most of time have their cars super stock lol
People hate Honda's because they secretly want one .
Yup. Love to hate 'em.

Because half of them straight pipe them lower them give it some “new” beat up wheels and now think they can take on Bugatti’s.
You're definitely right about that. It's why I won't hangout with most other honda guys. I do however think its because most of them are fan boys who like the fast and the furious and forza more than they actually like cars.
@@jnutz4871 Yeah, the "wannabe enthusiasts" are the ones that rice the hell out of Honda's. I've known very young guys that modify Hondas properly. Only like 3 guys... lol.

The “fart can” and “lawnmower” mods ended years ago and as time has gone on aftermarket parts have become much better allowing for huge power output after turbocharging and tuning down to beautiful aesthetics and function & form. Not only that but the interiors have come a long way
the front seats on the 10th gen civic hatchbacks are awful though
Do you know why us honda owners get so much hate??? cuz we put half of V8’s cars ashamed among non V8’s also. With my 06 Honda Civic si coupe K24-a2 bottom and k20 head top have put V8’s and non V8’s to shame. But I still love any car
I always find it funny that people call Hondas rice even tho in my area the most riced out cars I’ve seen are 350z, Subaru BRZ,Scion FRS and Infiniti g35s. I rarely see Honda Civics in my area also. The cars I see most are Nissan 350z and G35s. Also a lot of subies in my area.

The "BIG WANG GANG" gets too much hate.
I'm a sucker for the civic, however I don't think power is the goal. With my civic it's gonna be a better handling machine, but keeping that good ol honda reliability and practicality.
Handling can make the most difference in a car, especially in touge. It’s not really about the power on thé touge
I was also a Honda hater. I was 20yo living in NJ back when Vtec was relatively new and it was everywhere. Now I own a fit and I can’t stop doing stuff to it and will probably get a cr-v and a civic or kswap the FIT, or put mirror tint on it, or get 17’s or 16’s, do I really need a sway bar? Strut tower bar? Or maybe some cool tail lights? Illuminated door sills? . . . . .
That green civic coupe was pretty clean ngl! 5:40

They hate civics because they destroy every sport car in the game but look funny. I have a Supra and god do those things smoke
Love my 10th gen Si!!!
I love my 89 Civic hatch. It’s mostly stock sides the exhaust. It’s a fun car to drive for sure. My first car that I bought was an 03 civic and It wasn’t anything to impressive but I loved driving it around specially since it was great on gas. Saved money on a kid that was in high school.

I really like the civic. It’s fast enough, gets great mpg, and the center console rocks
