- Are you looking to upgrade your manual MK7 Golf R? Checkout the FULL Stage 2 upgraded fitted to this MK7R manual.
This customer opted for the full Stage 2 package on his MK7 Golf R. Due to the huge increase in performance, namely torque that the Stage 1 or Stage 2 creates the factory clutch will begin to slip. To overcome this on a manual, a clutch upgrade is required.
Parts fitted included the full Racingline 4 piece intake package including R600 intake, 90-degree turbo inlet elbow, turbo inlet hose and turbo muffler delete which fully de-restricts the intake path on this Golf R.
Next up the Turboback Milltek Exhaust system is fitted, available in either a full catless setup for maximum volume which is not emission compliant or a range of cats with varying levels of emission compliance. A range of exhaust tips are available, this customer opted for the Cerekote Black Tips which look incredible.
The Wagner intercooler system finishes off the power upgrades, replacing the factory intercooler and keeping the charge air temps consistently cooler vs. the stock item, incredibly important for enjoying repeatably high power and torque output.
As mentioned earlier, the Sachs Clutch Upgrade is installed. This replaces the factory clutch, increasing the torque capacity for Stage 2 power levels. Eliminating clutch slip at this power level.
To finish off the package, the APR Stage 2 ECU upgrade is installed which optimises the various maps inside the ECU such as fuel, ignition, boost and many others to optimise the power, torque and driveability.
🔵 Stock Output: 311HP & 300lbfts
🔵 Max Gains +84HP & +94lbfts

Apr stage 2? Thought they stopped doing stage 2?
These Milltek exhausts are unreal... its the valved resonated version with a decat right? Awesome sound!
It does sound and look incredible! Yes this is full decat resonated version.
@@RegalAutosport Can you guys explain please how the valve works on the stock or in the valved Milltek system? Is it operated by the driving mods or by rmp? In the video at 8:15 you can clearly hear that the sound is changed? I guess it was in race mode?
@@7.5R When you enter 'race' mode in the Golf R the valves open and idle revs increase, plus more pops and bangs!
In eco/drive the valve will open at a certain RPM/load to improve flow.
Hi what’s the supplied and fitted cost on these systems please ., cheers guys
Hmm not alot of power and torque on a stage 2! Was this a Eco Tune? How much bar boost?
For sure we could fudge our figures but we're not into that. We just tune the car to make the output it can within reasonable parameters. We do not have easily accessible boost data per car for RUclips, sorry!
Besides, the customer is absolutely over the moon with his build and loves it!
Brand of the rims? Looking sick!!
Sorry, we did not note this down!
Can I get an apr downpipe & stage 2 software for my 7R ?
APR no longer supply Downpipes or their stage 2 for sports cat or decat cars. We do however offer a range of downpipes and our own in-house software, if you’re interested go to the description and find the details to speak to a performance specialist
What’s this beat 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not sure my man! Hit Shazam
So APR still has the stage 2 software available for UK customers? It's been discontinued here in the US due to new EPA regulations.
They have JUST stopped offering it BUT we do offer our in-house software for these cars which delivers similar performance
384 is a bit low isn't it?🤔 can near enough get that with a stage 1
Dynos are useful for comparison, you can occasionally see those figures with the right operating conditions and a healthy car, don't forget that a dyno run is just a snapshot of a vehicles output in that specific point in time, with those specific conditions etc. So to compare fairly, you'd need to be comparing on the same day etc
@@RegalAutosport appreciate the reply mate, yeah I understand the whole dyno situation can differ, was the car running on 99 octane? And do you think some fresh ngk plugs would of made a difference getting it closer to 400, majority of Rs seem to run 400 or just over so for there to be a 20bhp difference would do my head In if I was the customer😂......(im currently looking to buy an R and goin straight to stage 2 this is why I'm interested you see)
@@Scouse.Malinois entirely depends on the conditions on the day and the health of the engine.
Spark plugs won't improve output by 20HP unless they're solving a problem that the stock spark plugs have, for example if they have come to the end of their service life.
Is that 384whp or at the fly? If at the fly, that's dissmal
@@kratcliffe5680 At the fly, pretty crap tbh
Would there be any parts that come of be of any use ( be sold ) ?
Parts are picked up by the customer or recycled
No brake in period for the clutch?
There is a small break-in period but loading the car up the way we do on the dyno doesn't cause much stress vs. the road.
No need fuel pump, injectors upgrade?
Nope
Any indication on price for tihs package? im guessing in the 6k region plus labour ?
Thanks for the comment, for pricing please contact a performance specialist using the contact options in the description
6k 😂.....6000 what rupees? Its about £2k
@@Scouse.Malinois 😂 dam are you really that stupid ? Do you not know anything about Golf R’s & tuning ? Seen as though you are clueless let me break it down for you
4 piece racing line induction £1000
Wagner intercooler £800
Sachs performance clutch + flywheel £1000
Down pipe plus full cat back exhaust £2300
Stage 2 ECU remap £599
Labour costs £500-600
Add it all up chump and this doesn’t include miscellaneous costs for things like hoses and coolants !!!!
How does the sachs clutch feel compared to standard?
Bit harder pedal but it's super easy to get used to.
Is this the organic sachs clutch?or do you need paddle for stage 2?
@@harveyanderson2754 This is organic
@@RegalAutosport ah wicked I was looking to go stage 2 on my golf r but was told by another garage I had to change my sachs organic for a paddle as it would slip thanks for the feedback
Why did you use the dmf over a smf? Just wondering
Had issues with SMF on these engines
@@RegalAutosport good to know. So I shouldn't get a smf.
Do I need change clutch if go stage 1
Thanks for the comment, if you wish to enjoy maximum torque then yes - you will need a clutch upgrade. If you do not want to upgrade the clutch on a manual, or DSG software on a DSG car then we can limit the torque output to try to reduce the likelihood of clutch slip.
What is the woven part on the downpipe 3:59? cheers
That is a flexi, it allows the downpipe and exhaust on the other side of the flexi to move with more freedom, so that they don't break.
what is the whp for stage 2?
No idea, we only talk about flywheel figures on our page. Our flywheel figures are calculated from the drivetrain losses though, not a simple 'hmmm I feel like adding 20% everywhere on everything today''
Did u reuse the original flywheel then?
Thanks for the comment, it looks like we installed a new flywheel on this, which is what we always recommend our customers to do.
@@RegalAutosport Thanks for reply 👍
How long was this car with you?
Around one full day for this
Question does a awd car need to run on a doferent Dyno to a 2wd car?
Depends entirely on the car, it isn't really FWD / 4WD exclusive
@@RegalAutosport OK because a guy in my work was telling make sure when getting am mot your car/my car (awd) is on the proper Dyno or it will damage the diffs (I have a golf r)
@@alexgerling3686 I think these guys no what they’re doing dude, they are professional’s 🤦🏻
@@chunkyfxdls1878 I'm sure they do which is another good reason to ask the question and theres a difference between expert and professional, there is a lot of professionals that don't know a lot! The more information you gain the more you can distinguish between the two.
Eh? We talking about an MOT now?
What's the cost of a package like this?
Thanks for the message, in the description you can get in touch with a performance specialist 🙌
Yeah just a ball park figure for this set up would be helpful!
@@TIM612826 always best to contact a performance specialist to get specific and up to date pricing
That stage 2 conly got about 10 more hp from your stage 1
Yeah! Biggest upgrade for any turbocharged cars will always be Stage 1 software! However, the exhaust also improves the rear-end aesthetic and sound too
@@RegalAutosport gotcha thanks for the info and video
How whp ?
We only talk about clutch/flywheel power or torque on this channel unless otherwise stated
You can find those at www.goapr.com. I have APR Stage 2 on my MK7 Golf R manual: WHP = 354; WTQ = 379 (coincidentally those are the crank HP and TQ for Stage 1)
