    Thank you for being a “regular” reviewer who doesn’t just only care about dumping the clutch with 0-60 times and being a prima donna nitpicking everything! I don’t care about 5 less horsepower or heated seats or adjustable dampers. It’s obviously a nicer car. I just want a car to get me from point A to point B. Plus your presentation had me in the first 30 seconds. Good stuff. Subbed!!

    I've been trying to buy one for months. Dealers want 5 to 10K above MSRP on cars they don't even have and wont have for "several months" (their words), and I'm finding the majority of dealers wont even accept a deposit if I don't live in that state... Thanks to dealership greed, I'm done searching and I'll keep what I have. Sorry Honda, but dealers are costing you customers.

    • @TheFK8Life
      @TheFK8Life 2 года назад +1

      The only make 15000 si models per year and all get sold - with cuts in production, dealerships have little inventory to turn a profit from and keep the lights on.
      I paid 5k over msrp for my daughters 2022 Si and 12k over for my 2021 Type R last year. Not the best time to buy but on limited models the markup is slightly higher. They make 330k civics per year so the 15000 Si models are pretty rare....the 5000 Type Rs even worse

    • @czluver4338

      @@TheFK8LifeLOL you are kidding right? Dealers are pure scum! And Honda like Toyota did limit production on ALL their vehicle’s which is know now, that is why the Accord went from 240,000 per year to 50,000 per year and charged 10 grand mark up? What Honda did to their customers was just plain greed! Which now you see ALL models on lots with Si’s sitting even 2 Type R’s on the ground here but a 25,000 mark up on the Si’s a 15 grand mark up. I am one with Honda ass their greed has done damage to their reputation

    200hp is plenty for good fun driving around, I don't think the Civic would be lacking there whatsoever. Also good on Honda for giving customers a more frugal version with the cool specs instead of tying it to tons of unnecessary tech and gimmicks. I mean, there's the Type R and the Integra as well, like you said, so they got their bases covered.

      @@brokentradgedy What doesn't make sense is those are available in Canada. I feel Honda is either testing the U.S. market to nickel and dime us or just having supply issues to handle U.S. market. It is possible maybe we see these come back like Canadian market in MY23 or MY24.

    I bought this car for my daughter - her first manual car. Made teaching her a snap. She loves the handling vs her old Lincoln CUV lol
    The shifter is very firm - firmer than my 2021 Type R which was surprising - dont know if i like the feel.
    I tell her to keep the tach above 3k for boost response
    My R makes 400ftlbs at 4k amd driving her car reminded me how much these 1.5Ls need to be spun to have any kind of response in stock form.
    The chassis is noticeably stiffer than the 10th gen models - you can feel it instantly - rides smooth even in sport.
    Its a great car to start off with and with more seat time ill probably upgrade her to an R when shes ready. It will be the final ICE type R sold and a piece of Honda history.
    Solid vid

    I have to slightly disagree with you on the lack of heated seats. Once you hit 30/35, back issues really become a thing. And they don't get better. And I think Honda missed on this in the US. Canada get heated seats in the same car! And I should not
    have to drop thousands extra to get an Integra just to get heated seats w/ a Manual. 🤷🏾‍♂️

    My problem is it lost so many features from the last generation and with a 2k price bump. The only reason was to upsell the Integra because the Sport Touring Sedan and Hatchback didn't lose any features at all and had modest price increases and are sold at a higher volume. I still like the Si but don't understand Honda's thinking. If the car is still profitable selling fully loaded in Canada at roughly the same price, then why couldn't we get it with real (not fake) fog lights, heated seats and the same instrument cluster with an actual temp gauge vice a silly dash light.

    In my honest opinion, the 11th gen Si is probably the most bland car that has came out. Looking from a car enthusiast standpoint. I’m not a big Honda guy or anything, but I know an 8th or 9th gen Si when I saw one and I always thought they caught a bit of my attention. The 11th gen just looks too basic. It looks just about the same as the base model and it doesn’t stand out at all compared to the older generation with a different body kit. To put that into a real world scenario, there would be car meets, events, cars and coffee i would go to and almost no one would look at an 11th gen Si if it rolled in. There was no hype at all compared to the other new performance cars like the GR86/BRZ, Supra, Z, Type R, and a lot more.

    The shifter is way too stiff and notchy to the point of being clunky imo. I don't know when Honda changed the shifter feel but I remember the Acura RSX-S was buttery smooth and felt nothing like this car. When I test drove this car I was flabbergasted how stiff it was to get through the gates. I actually paused my shift in neutral out of astonishment at the effort it took to get there. It felt like I was driving a tractor compared to my seventh gen Civic.

    The new Si is a watered down version of the previous version with 2 grand more than the previous version? How can you say that this is a good deal? I have driven one and there are some improvements but the suspension to me is what it changed the Si’s dynamic. If you look at the price point and features and performance the Elantra N is a way better value and performer as well as cheaper in my area for sure. A Si currently is 45 grand with mark up and the Elantra N with the DCT is 40 grand and no market up? I did go with the Elantra N which is an amazing car. Sorry Honda your greed and the removal of previous options especially the adaptive suspension has really made the Si irrelevant.

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  8 месяцев назад +1

      Okay so take dealer mark-ups out of the equation because those vary store to store, are predatory in the first place, and do not reflect the actual MSRP of the vehicle. The Civic Si is a fabulous car and great deal for its ~$30k MSRP. Obviously if some scumbag dealer adds a $15k markup to it, it's a terrible value. That's basic math.
      The current/new Civic Si is a far better car *to drive* than the prior generation - it's no contest. Better steering feel, better/minimal rev hang in particular. Honda decontented the Si to make room for the Integra A-Spec, and we've had a few friends purchase those *below MSRP* making them a far better value than the Civic Si with more equipment.
      The Elantra N is another fantastic option in the segment but that doesn't mean the Civic is bad.
