- Magnus Carlsen was BRUTALLY CHECKMATED on his stream | Magnus Carlsen chess
Magnus Carlsen is a Norwegian chess grandmaster who is the former five-time World Chess Champion, reigning four-time World Rapid Chess Champion, and reigning six-time World Blitz Chess Champion. Arguably the greatest Chess player of all time, Carlsen has held the No. 1 position in the FIDE world chess rankings since 1 July 2011 and trails only Garry Kasparov in time spent as the highest-rated player in the world. His peak rating of 2882 is the highest in history. He also holds the record for the longest unbeaten streak at the elite level in classical chess. Хобби
him not resigning and allowing the couple moves to get the checkmate is a massive sign of respect to the opponent. Because it adds a cherry on top for the victory against the goat. He gave him that, magnus real class act
Ok fanboy, calling Magnus Carlsen as the 'GOAT' lol. Magnus Carlsen is a great chess player, no doubt about it, but GOAT? I doubt it. I think that Fischer and Morphy may have been better than Carlsen.
@@user-bk9fk2tq2z While you may not agree, it is very reasonable to consider Magnus the GOAT, haterboy. It's about as sharp as bowling ball to think he isn't in contention.
@@kattee1956 I agree that Magnus is in contention for being the GOAT. I think Carlsen is maybe in the top 10 of all time, perhaps top 5 of all time. Magnus is a great chess player, there's no doubt about that. I just get annoyed with fanboys who think Magnus is the GOAT when they haven't really studied the other great chess players of the past...or they just call Magnus as the GOAT because of infatuated fanboyism and stuff...it's cringy. It's like those people who think that Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT just because they are Portuguese or because they are Real Madrid fans and they never think about the fact that there are other football players that are perhaps better than CR7.
Magnus would destroy them both, stop hatin @@user-bk9fk2tq2z
I just say we may never now if there was someone so great at chess in the past that would surpass every modern chess player
I love how humble he is, no issue praising his opponent and acknowledging where he could’ve played better
its hard to be humble when ur not good at something , he knows hes the best he has no issue praising ppl
magnus is really amazing i admire him a lot
thats why he is the best
Not really, he said "I'll let him mate me", he didn't let him mate him, mate was forced.
@@leethomas9549 He could have resigned
so cool that he tells him how good he played shows how cool of a guy he is
Letting him mate was cool
Ayo 🤔
Ew dude
magnus babies 😏
@@zorzilla8618 he did let him he even says it "ok i'll let him" (instead of flag)
@@zorzilla8618He could just resign. It’s a good thing to let the opponent get the forced checkmate instead.
"I was just really outplayed there in the end game" You won't hear that often from Magnus Carlsen :D
The opponent is gonna tell his grand kids about this. Fair play!
Carlsen: “How is this guy so good?”
Well, that’s exactly what everybody thinks about you, Magnus. Now you can feel it.
LOL
Damn, he saw the checkmate fast. I don't know how long it would have taken me to see it, but significantly longer.
Its crazy how most his moves seems like something obvious and something i would play, but in reality i can never play like that
That's what drives me crazy about chess. I feel the stupidest man alive when I check my mistakes after a loss or even before I even lose (which is even worse maybe)
I have no relation to your nor chess, but you seem very humble and that is something I appreciate very much.
“Oh you turned 30? Have you felt the decline” 😂😂😂
You really feel it tho
😅 That was funny, I also have just turned 30 (some seven years ago) , it gets hard man...
I laughed.... then realized I'm 34.... what the hell, I swear I was in my early 20s just a few weeks ago.
Magnus is a classy beast. Love that dude
Definitely at higher levels there is a lot more class, at my humble level people often just abandon the games and leave me waiting for the algorithm to declare my win....
Going "afk" when a loss is imminent is just petty and immature at any level, it's not like you know your opponent, why behave that way? The worst people are those who make a move with seconds left after being "afk" for several minutes, hoping you aren't paying attention anymore and that they'll worm their way into a win. Those people should be drawn and quartered.
That's why I prefer to play in person against friends and family. There's no going "afk" nonsense.... instead there's the beloved "accidentally knock the board over" nonsense. The key is to use enough force to send the pieces flying across the room. If you're a really strong player, you know to direct the accident towards small spaces such as under furniture, behind houseplants, curtains, etc. so the pieces cannot easily be found. Everyone starts swearing, people storm out of the room, and a coveted "N/A" result is clinched from the jaws of defeat. Petty, immature, and classless? Absolutely but it makes for one hell of a spectacle..... I'd love to see some GM repeatedly falling into the chess board at tournament, more entertaining than being caught going to the crapper to cheat on a cell phone between each move.
Whoops, didn't mean to write that much.
Cliff notes:
*people who go "afk" out of spite when they are essentially defeated are lowlifes
*petty, shameless "tactics" are only acceptable against loved ones
The Bortnyk dude’s got bragging rights now!
"I'll let him mate me"- who is this man and what has he done with Magnus Carlsen?
Saw this one ages ago. The Bortnyks.
Magnus surely knows how to deal with defeat or playing worse and acting like a gentleman he is. Lets not forget he is streaming and half of his brain is on commentary....but still there's no shame in losing, so he is a champion in every aspect of the game.
This fella seems like a good sport. He's got a bright future in chess.
Thanks for respecting 8:31 the play out.. I enjoyed playing you! Next time..
The line seems much better than given credit for. Lichess says white has an advantage from the beginning but you are getting a decent game with black. That seems to be worth a lot?
7:08 Magnus has to try Kd2 and go for the flag - Black is better but it's still a long way from mate.
how is his king gonna move to the second file from 4 with rook blocking the third one?
@@Moonlakes ? He meant move his king from E3 to D2?
yes a sportsman!
can't believed the title isn't 'magnus gets brutally mated on stream' smh
its now
Its supposed to be a sus joke that is so sus that not even sussus amogus can compete to the sussiness of this joke
I might be wrong but such a title could get a video age restricted xD
Interesting 🧐 thanks 🙏👍
Magnus let himself get mated because he thought this was the good kind of mate, not the bad one from chess.
Which is the bad kind of mate?
Ooooh Magnus let him mate him ☺
This magnum guy displays such a refreshing combo of skill and humility. He's going places in the chess world.
He already is you noob.
Isn't he already a world champion multiple times. Unless you're joking.
Yes, true. He has a lot of potential to make a name for himself in chess.
I am only rated 2500+ probably slightly less now, I wonder if I could give magnus competition. I lost recently to benny watts.
Magnus what's your favorite movie? 5:26

Carls Magnussen is the man!

I think Magnus’s hair blocked his vision….
Please add the game's date. This is an old game (maybe last year)
I'm surprised it isn't dated 2024 to click bait people.
Who gives a fck lol
If that was me, I would have screen shot the result and put that on my wall. Also make and NFT.
7:13 the checkmate
Thanks yo!

Hey Magnus, you growing a raccoon on your head?????😂😂😂😂
Considered the best player in history and let's some guy mate him? INTERESTING.
Royyyy
Has magnus played borgov yet? I feel like if borgov still plays or is alive might beat him. Harmon too could likely beat magnus. They should play.
They arent real ppl
It's insane how those strong players just see the board 3 turns ahead without even thinking. Magnus saw the checkmate instantly.
it was chess engine
definitiv
That's what I was thinking
Magnus must respect Hikaru if he's calling someone a "14-16 year old" for snubbing Hikaru for having teen subs.
Fact :
Kraminik : He is cheating
Where do magnus streams ?
GQ
maskenissen on twitch
He must have borrowed Hikaru's beads.
On what app he playing???

Mykola won 5 games against him, nice
Yeah definitely was not a brutal checkmate
This was a computer playing against...exactly, why is this guy so good?
It's Bortnyk's brother
Slava Ukraine Mykola!
He's right now posting on his Twitter account that Bortynik cheated 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Would love to play this clown $1 mil per game.
Carlsen is two years into the decline
Game so bad
I give this game to Carlsen. Think about it, he's having a very distracting detailed chat with a bunch of people while playing this game against a 3000+ rated player, without hardly even thinking about his moves (all are made in about 1 sec) and he still holds his own throughout the game, only to lose focus for a second and give it up. I picture the other guy saying "OMG! I'm playing Magnus!" and concentrating to play the game of his lifetime with total focus and zero distractions. Magnus is basically piloting a Formula 1 race car through a dangerous snake race track while reclining back and texting his friends back and forth. That's why I declare him the winner. If the other guy was equally distracted, he would have lost badly.
Bad sportsmanship on your part.
@@adamj2381 Really, how so?
@@privatename3621you're asumming everything about the other guy, its rude to call Carlsen the winner when its all "he coulda he shoulda won" ...i get that you're a fan of his, and i get that in writing or on paper what you say makes sense, but Carlsen lost, let the other guy have his win, just like Carlsen did, he praised him...plus you're guessing everything, you dont know what the other guy has going on in his house or even his life... you're trying to deflate the winner by saying he didn't "actually beat him" ...until they verse again and Carlsen wins without distractions , then you can say he won but rn he lost regardless of whats going on.
you remind me a little when im arguing about bad ref calls in NBA which make my team lose im ngl lol
@@Red4350You're reading too much into what I originally wrote. To be clear, yes, Carlsen lost that game. But you seem to be overlooking my main point. Which is that if you watch it, Carlsen is spending almost all his time reading the chat comments and responding verbally to them while simultaneously narrating his moves. He's very distracted, clearly. Can we at least agree on that? He obviously wasn't taking that game very seriously as he was giving it almost no real thought or effort. It's right there in the video we both watched. I hope we can agree on that as well. It wasn't until the last sequence of moves that Carlsen began to realize how good of a player the other person was. But I think by then his goose was already cooked and it was too late to recover. That's why I made that (spot on) analogy that it was as if Carlsen was in a "Formula 1 race" but paying no attention and reclining back, letting the car drive itself, and being fully absorbed in texting with friends.
Did I make assumptions about the other player? Sure. But, let's be honest: If you, me or ANYONE finds themselves matched up in an online chess game with, Magnus Carlsen, who has a higher Elo than anyone else in the world in classical chess, we'd all just about crap our pants. So of course we would be laser focused and try to play the best game of our lives. Is that really a stretch for you to concede?
Sure, maybe there is a tiny chance Magnus was playing a drunken frat boy who didn't even notice who he was playing but just happened to play a killer game nonetheless in his sloppy state of inebriation. Or, perhaps Magnus was playing against a nursing mom, with a crying baby distracting her every move. Possible? Sure. Plausible? Not really.
Don't overthink my comment. The main thrust of it was general sound. It was actually a major complement to Carlsen of just how good he is where he was playing a 3000+ rated player and still almost won the game without hardly even trying and nearly 100% distracted. How many of us can claim to be able to do the same? And sure, if they rematched and Magnus actually was focused and had his game face on, it's likely the other guy would not have stood a chance. But that's just my humble assumption. 🤓
wtf is this😂 he himself said he got outplayed, simple as that.
Who is he talking to? Is he hearing voices already? Going down the Fischer route?
He was streaming bruh
@@hampten23I guess it was a joke
