Hikaru vs Magnus is the match that all of us want to watch always, for me it's already a classic match and i think it'll remembers as such in the future
This is actually my first time seeing Hikaru win against Magnus online although he has done it many times before this is my first time with Ice Chess's video
@@cronosx6174 I never said being a nerd is a bad thing, YOU'RE the one trying to bash chess commentators. "like the sports commentators" mate they ARE sports commentators 💀💀💀
If Hikaru has played 100 games a day average for the last 20 years then it would be 700,000 games. If he played them all with different people then he would have to lose 7 games of bullet over those years for each of those 7 people to achieve 99.999% status. What's crazy about it is that that's not too far from the truth. It's very possible that he has played that many games and has only lost bullet games less than 10 times. (I know the number doesn't make sense realistically but Naroditsky is definitely in the 99'th percentile)
Hikaru is getting much more confident now, he's able to beat any player in the world right now. Not all the time but Hikaru in blitz is very strong Magnus does really well in classical though, no one seems to beat him there often, especially when he's playing white pieces
Angry Hikaru is strong (though bad at hand to hand combat), Pineapple Hikaru is almost unbeatable but Side Eye Hikaru is basically a evaluation bar with a beard.
Of course I can't be sure, but judging from Magnus reaction after his ..., e5 (?!) It looks as a mouse slip, moreso since ..., e6 would've enter a standard Queen's Indian...
around 8:23 why didn't Magnus move his queen to E5? Am I missing something? Queen to e5 would of threatened Hikaru's queen and rook in one move while having a rook protect the queen.
If Magnus took the rook by the pawn on d6, White’s queen can capture black’s queen. Black now will be down a queen. Why can black not recapture the white queen with the black rook? Because of black rook did that, white rook would move to d8 and capture black rook leading to checkmate. Moves: 1. Rc5 dxc5 2. Qxd8 Rxd8 3. Rxd8#
Sadhia only mentions the first thing she asks, not the only thing! I wouldn't draw any conclusions about her being right or wrong because the follow up questions she asks have not been mentioned in this short clip.
I believe Magnus Carlson is learning from Poker pros: you have to make dumb plays and let yourself lose on a regular basis in situations where it doesn't count for much, so that your "range" can expand and people won't know what to expect. You play dumb and in the long term this means people can't study your games to understand you as well.

can someone explain why magnus didnt take the rook with the pawn on c5 at 2:10
If pawn takes, queen takes on Qxd8, rook takes back, and then Rxd8 backrank checkmate
it wasn't beer what Hikaru drank, he thought magnus was drunk so he got a glass of pure vodka just incase.

2:35 why magnus did not take rook at c5 by knight at d6 and instead moved knight at a4
If Magnus took the rook by the pawn on d6, White’s queen can capture black’s queen. Black now will be down a queen. Why can black not recapture the white queen with the black rook? Because of black rook did that, white rook would move to d8 and capture black rook leading to checkmate.
