Don’t get me started on jesuit Jonathan or how they’re literally fulfilling prophecy merging the end times religions, or how this entire show is seducing people under enchantment with spell casting and back masking. Thanks, Dallas. My husband and I lived in South Florida for 30 years and had many transplanted NYC Jewish friends. When we first watched the lively discussion between Jesus & John the Baptist, we chuckled and said, "Hey, it's like South Florida again!" We loved our Jewish friends' vigorous and often hilarious debates. We 100% got it when you portrayed Jesus & John in a verbal jousting match and weren't offended at all. (And for those of you offended by it, watch the episode again when John apologizes to Jesus for the argument.)

They truly are God's chosen. When Dallas mentioned how they debate.. It was an AhHa moment for me. Exactly why their families, communities work. As God planned. We could learn from them.

    I saw the scene where Jesus was going over the sermon on the mount with Matthew as a chance for Jesus to spend some time with Matthew. Knowing he's one to journal things, He (in this portrayal) was giving Matthew a preview of the sermon. But mostly, if you watch Matthew, it was obviously touching and blessing Matthew in a more personal way than if he just saw it during the sermon's real time. Jesus loved all the disciples and I'm sure that He spent personal time with each one of them. Jesus was most likely a very busy man. Why not include each disciple here and there on things that he needed to do. Plus, since Jesus WAS fully man, why not consider that He felt the need to clear His head and organize His thoughts about the sermon? I loved that scene! And as for Mary Magdalene backsliding, we all backslide? Whether that happened to Mary or not, we need to see a scene like that and see how Jesus allowed her back in the fold. That scene was for my/our benefit. I know we need to be discerning about representations of our faith, but some people forget to relax and think through what you (The Chosen) might be trying to get across.

      Very well said, to say that people will never sin again after becoming a Christian seems silly when we need to seek God daily and we’re still human. That doesn’t mean to seek out sin or test the waters with it, we shouldn’t dance with temptation, we need to truly lean on His understanding. And others should ask the question to themselves, if God is willing to forgive everything you’ve done to this point, wouldn’t He also forgive if you had a problem later on if you truly repent? We’re not perfect, not even as Christians because we are still human, but we should work on ourselves daily and grow spiritually, and imitate Jesus throughout our lives (in both public and private) because that’s what it means to be Christian, it comes from the words that literally mean “Christ-like”. I have seen people in a church harshly judge an individual at church who wasn’t dressed very nicely and still smelled of alcohol. They were gossiping about this person and saying how they don’t belong there. As if we can decide who’s worthy? Are we somehow better than others or more deserving of salvation than others? I would say not even by a bit. Salvation is for everyone and I believe as a Christian, we should be spreading love and His message to all. Whether they decide to listen or ignore, or even verbally attack us or spit in our faces, they deserve the opportunity just like anyone else. I have felt hopeless and ashamed when I was bonded by a sinful addiction and thought I would never be able to come back from it. Now I’m picking back up the pieces and feel more determined than ever to follow Christ. A lot of times I think back to the Apostle, Paul, and I think many should read the Books in the Bible he wrote. I have cried my eyes out when I realized just how much my thoughts or concerns felt addressed and understood, not just in those passages, but all throughout the Bible. God is good all the time 🙏🏼 God bless you and all others!

If we, as a body of believers, started working on the 100’s of major issues like homeless, peace or faith and not jumping over mountains to pick up pebbles, what an awesome group we would become. I had one persons write a novel about how I had to go to confession and repent of my sinful ways, because I used OMG in a comment, OMG! 😀 Bless you again brother, your patience and kindness is light years ahead of mine!!!

They were real people, with real problems, real lives, and real feelings, who loved Jesus,and followed Him, even though they didn’t always understand. They believed and followed anyway. As Dallas has said before. This is a TV series, not The Divine inspired Word of God. Thank you for making a show that makes people ask questions and search the Bible, because they are hungry to know Jesus.✝️

    Hello Dallas. I am blessed each time I rewatch an episode because each episode points me to the Bible where I can have more in depth Scripture verses relating to that episode. The fact that the emphasis is at times on Jesus’s humanity makes me understand and appreciate so much more how Jesus can totally relate to us when we are lonely, sad, misunderstood, hurt and suffering. He has been through it all and for me personally, this aspect of Jesus enables me to draw closer to Him each day of my life. I believe totally that Jesus must have the most amazing sense of humor ever😀.

      Is that Jesus of the bible? Watching Jesus on the screen will add to nothing at the judgement seat. You might watch this show and not even know Jesus Christ.
      I am convinced that most people who call themselves know religion instead of Jesus Christ. Or they have created their own God in their head. That is why we must make sure that we know the God of the bible and know that we are truly saved.
      Lay religion, Christian culture, and even politics aside. Someone who truly loves you is reaching out to you not willing that you should perish (2 Peter3), but that you be saved from the price of your sins.
      With that said, how do you deal with your sin? Yes you. How many times have you lied, lusted, or stolen? I'm guilty, what about you? I hope you feel convicted.
      But if you're going to reject the free gift of salvation, you ought to think about where you are going after death.
      Is this your mindset?
      Luke 12:19
      Please please do not be this person that Jesus described here. I don't care how if you are in a ministry or even behind a pulpit. And their is no shame in getting saved.
      Matthew 7
      21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
      22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
      23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
      You see there will be professing Christians that were not actually saved.
      I want to help you.
      Matthew 18:3
      "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."
      Because of God's holiness we cannot be in his presence as we are in our sin. No matter how righteous one may appear everyone has sinned and one sin can lead to hell, but there is a way out. We don't deserve it but God made a way that we may become the righteousness of God (Romans 5). I want you to have 100% assurance of salvation.
      Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
      John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      John 14
      6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
      ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
      Romans 6
      23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
      1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
      1Corinthians 15:
      1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
      2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
      4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
      Romans 10
      9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
      10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
      11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
      12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For WHOSOEVER shall CALL upon the name of the Lord shall be SAVED.
      Here is the gospel straight and simple:
      1. Truly acknowledge that you have sinned against a perfect God and you are worthy of hell that can only be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ
      2. Believe that Jesus died for and covered all of your sins and rose again.
      3. Say to God that Jesus Christ he is your saviour.
      Please let me know. I am praying for you, today is the day of salvation.
      2 Corinthians 5:17
      “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

      It reminded me of the musical Hamilton and LMM went about eliminating distance between the audience and the subject matter using hip hop music. Did Jesus ever get on a platform? Who knows? But the "rock star" moment gets the 21st century audience to connect to the 1st century human beings who lived when Jesus was on Earth.

    You knew exactly what I needed. That's the pushback I'm getting from people in my church. You've given me some tools to dialogue back not argue just present what you were trying to tell. I do find it humorous that everybody thinks they know what's best, that they know what it was like in the first century. When your Bible scholars sat together and decided on something I don't have a problem with it. They are definitely more well-read than I am. But when you're watching something exercise a little bit of discernment - decide for yourself as you're watching the show you don't have to get angry. Would Jesus do that? Would he be upset at how he's depicted or he just be happy that he's in more people's hearts than he was before and more bibles are being opened than before? Thanks Dallas. 🙏

    Has none of these critics ever seen the Prince of Egypt?? The one with Val Kilmer and Sandra Bullock? That was an adaptation on the story of the Book of Exodus, and that movie didn't fully adhere to Scripture either. And yet it still holds up so well over 2 and a half decades later. Why? Because it captured the spirit, the drama, the action, and the essence of the original story in an incredible way. Plus, the big scenes of Moses fleeing Egypt, meeting God at the Burning Bush, the Plagues, parting the Red Sea, those were all masterfully well-done, and Scripturally sound. From what I can gather, hardly anyone has raised the same level of criticism for that movie the way they do of the Chosen now.

I don't agree with everything, but that's okay. I find it to be very entertaining and inspirational. You will never please everyone, and I hope you don't try. None of us were there to see how all of these events played out, so there is a lot open to interpretation. I have learned to enjoy what others create, while still holding to my own beliefs on how these events actually happened. The way you portray Matthew, Mary Magdelene, Eden, and especially Nicodemus makes them much more human and relatable. The scene at the end of episode 7 (Nicodemus and Jesus) is AWESOME!!!! Very powerful and moving. I can't wait for season three! God Bless you all!

    The moment where Jesus jokes about the dancing also highlights the fact that God has a sense of humor. There's a moment in a Jesus movie where He's doing the sermon on the mount. At a point in that scene, Jesus goes "And when you give to the needy..... *dumps water all over a disciple* ..."
