Great comprehensive review video guys! Best one I've seen on the internet. Overall these new lifting straps are a must have with either one you choose. I currently own versa grips and the grass always seems greener on the other side of the hill. I'd go with the cobra grips (rubber) overall since they're only $35. That's a no brainer there. I don't know why cobra grips sells the fancy looking leather edition ones if the original rubber grips ones are the better grip. That is why you are using the product in the first place. Cobra grips' one size fits all is a con. Again they're not meant to be wrist wraps. Versa grips may be more expensive but you can take comfort knowing they were made in america! I own the classic edition of the versa grips. They were wonderful from the very first time I tried them at the gym. I only wish the piece of rubber/ leather was a bit longer since I have larger hands. If only you could combine the two products and keep the design of the cobra grips, but keep the tackiness grip of the made in america versa grips.

Google Subscriber thank you for watching. I agree. I would like to combine the wrist support of the cobra grips with the grippiness of the versa grips

I have both and to be honest, get the versa grips. Cobras are to wide and that makes it difficult to grip dumbbells. The extra padding on the cobra bunches up when you strap them around your wrist. The rubber on the cobra grips also wear out really fast Trust me, spend the extra money and get the versa grips.

I wondered about that. I had Versa Gripps for 7 years or so. I recently bought the leather cobra grips and after the first use, noticed slippage. While they are more comfortable, I am leaning towards going back to the Versa because of the slippage.

Thanks for the review guys, I’m going with cobra bc it’s like 30 bucks cheaper and they both look to be about the same honestly based on your review so I’m going with cobra to save money. Thanks for the comprehensive review y’all!

This was a good review. I would like to see an update of how they held out through time. I had the cobra grips and after about 1yr, the Velcro stopped working. The company that makes cobra grip makes an exact replica to the versa grips minus the tackiness. The material is some type of rubber just like the cobras (unless you buy the premium leather versions which I am told are a little slippery due to
them being leather. The cobras in this video are the synthetic version and not the brown leather. I purchased the versa grip rip-off that is for sale by the makers of cobra grip because I find them online for $25. I’ve gone through two pairs now. In the 1st pair the grip started to tear after 7 months and in the second pair the Velcro gave out after a year. So that’s 3 pairs of grips that failed on me by this company. This weekend I swapped out the rt hand that the Velcro went out on with the rt hand from the old pair and noticed both grips
have small tears in the rubber. I decided to finally spend the money and order the versa grips which will come in this week. Perhaps the Velcro will fail and the “rubber” may begin to tear after a year as well but we will see. I’ve given up on the company that makes the cobras/economy versa grips. Hopefully the versa wont tear or lose the Velcro after a yr. of use too. I use them 2x a week. Back
day and deadlift day and I don’t use a lot of weight. 315 for 8x3 is what I top off at.

holding on with one finger basically sold the versas for me, plus I heard a lot of people says the versaspeformbetter, though the cobras are more comfortable

PS: a wider rubber actually sounds like a negative to me(afterexperience with similar, cheaper grips) if your not gripping a straight bar,but a handle where yourhands get pulled at an angle, a wider rubber piece will get lifted up at one side, combined with stickinglessto the bar makes it not nearly as secure.

If you lose crap all the time, get the Cobras. If you don’t lose crap all the time, or you have money to burn, Versas.
