I was looking for a video to help me decide which straps to get and this was the first and only one I clicked on. From the perspective of someone who has been lifting a couple of years but never used straps before, this video was exactly what I needed and answered all my questions plus a couple I didn't even think of! Very concise and informative, thank you!
one tip i have....if you have small wrists, avoid the straps with padding, at least the lassoo style, a lot of the padding is set in a way that prevents the strap from actually being able to lock tightly down on to your wrist...if you have small wrists
@@techtipsreview7567 any basic strap will work, just avoid ones that are advertised with padding It might feel more uncomfortable, but it will also allow you to lock the strap in much tighter, locking you on to the bar much better i've tried many straps and any that had the padding in the wrist area..all had the padding set to wide for my small wrists and it prevented getting the strap as tight as you'd ideally want it
Great video i have been using open straps without even knowing it, but longer. modified. ive wonderd about figure eight but i want to be able to let go of the bar, especially the deadlift.
I had a guy at the gym show me how to use a closed loop on my front squats to take the pressure from my wrists and still keep the bar under control. He took me from the point of stripping weights to do the movement, to adding. I'll still work on my front rack mobility, but this was a game changer.
Gotta work on the lighting in the garage. Looks like I caked on some SPF-50 for this video 😂 FREE Daily Workouts: hortonbarbell.com/daily-workouts/ Strength and Conditioning Programs & Training Teams: marketplace.trainheroic.com/brand/horton-barbell?attrib=582194-yt
I’m five years post tfcc surgery(don’t think it worked) but my wrist is hurting a lot during and after work out I’m not looking to go heavy just want something to to help train what should I use
I would say whichever you’re most comfortable with. For me it would be a lasso strap. Although I would recommend only using straps with those machines when you REALLY need them so you can work your grip strength as well.
I would just use a lasso strap for this, however, you shouldnt need straps for a majority of your back sets. Make sure you’re working on your grip strength as well
you keep saying wrist but showing the strap on the hand(which is correct specifically for Oly lifts) also, closed strap is better wrapped between thumb and forefinger, not palm. for quick release purpose, but the hookgrip has a location, put the strap where you grip. ill admit though: wrapping under the palm looks cooler.

Thank you for taking the time to leave that comment!!! Glad the video helped!
Perfect one stop guide for lifting straps. Thanks!
Thank you!

Thank you 👌🏽
This is very good info. As a powerlifter, I approve the figure 8 straps
I only use the first one. Your presentation is excellent, thank you. Vincent, from Liège, Belgium.
Thank you!
This was just the perfect video. Great info, structure, and length. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for the video. I’ve been looking to see which style I should use and this really helps.
Glad it helped!
Super helpful to someone who is new to straps. Lasso strap it is. Thank you.
You’re welcome! Glad it helped!

Sounds like you may want to try a set of lasso straps.
perfect! thanks dude
Glad it helped!

This is something I do with athletes all the time that have wrist mobility issues.
Solid video, thank you.
Im trying the death grips by jerkfit
Open loop, its certainly a learning curve but its pretty magic
Have a ton of respect for anyone dedicated enough to use open straps
Thank you, super clear and concise.
Thank you for the info
You’re welcome!
i hvae that same exact warm body cold mind strap!!! an upgrade from gymreaper. i love it. thinking of buying versa gripps por!
Nice! Love my WBCM straps

Try turning down the exposure on the camera and using a led light
Thanks! Dont want to say I’ve got it “figured out”, but I have made a lot of improvements with the settings in my more recent videos.
Really appreciate it man
Thanks for taking the time to say that. Glad it helped!
Thanks man was exactly what I was looking for
Thanks for taking the time to say that. Glad it helped!
Thanks man - Needed this lot
Awesome. Glad it helped!
Just a perfect video! Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!

Best video on the internet!
Not sure about all that, but thanks!
Excelent video. Thank You so much.
Awesome video! Thank you!
Appreciate it!
Excellent video!
Thank you!
Nice video! What kind of strap is best for chin ups and pull ups?
I've considered trying the figure 8 straps but so many reviewers across many brands complain about incorrect sizing.
Maybe I got lucky but I believe Serious Steel gives some general guidelines for how to choose a size. My pair was spot on.
Thanks! I got Cobra Grips and I love them but I think they are too small
Enjoy your videos. What type of strap do you recommend when using Hammer machines such as the row and pull-down?
Thx
I would say whichever you’re most comfortable with. For me it would be a lasso strap. Although I would recommend only using straps with those machines when you REALLY need them so you can work your grip strength as well.
I prefer alternative grip for deads with chalk atm
Great video. I was considering the brett wilkin meat hooks.
Havent tried those
I wish you’d added two more types of straps to the video. Verse grips and hook grips.
Great point! I used to have a pair of versa grips back in the day. I loved those things
Can you do a lat macchine with the 8 figure straps? If no, what do you recommend to me?
Figure 8s are a little overkill for a Lat Machine. I’d just use a pair of lasso straps
Latterly perfect thanks but what brand open loop strap do u recommend
Ironmind. Same material and construction as their closed loop but not sewn together.
Thanks man 👍🏻
💪🏻
Great video
Thanks!
which strap for lat pulldown and rows ?
I would just use a lasso strap for this, however, you shouldnt need straps for a majority of your back sets. Make sure you’re working on your grip strength as well
exelent video tanks
Those are an excellent pair of lifting straps and the right one for you if wish not to go thru a woodchipper. 😮😮
Open loop strap is superior to all other straps
i think Figur 8 share is best for dead weight lifting.
Good video
Thanks!

Boa!, o último parece muito assustador com os vídeos a circular online das pessoas a desmaiar nos levantamentos de peso morto hehehe
John Cena fell off fr
always annoying for me getting the straps to feel strong on both sides, looks like the figure 8 strap would be the easiest to use and most consistent
Depends on what you need them for, but yes, you could say that.
Thanks man!
Leroyyyyyyyyy Jenkins!!!
