I've never understood why this song didn't get more buzz. It's the high point of a great album. This is a very worthy rendition. I never "drank the [Tweedy] ade" but he sure has his moments, and this is one. I wish I'd been there.
My wife believes I'm more attracted to this guitar solo than her. She's right. I've been lying to her for years.
That is such a talented bunch of guys, and Jeff is absolutely gorgeous! RIP Jay.
Don't forget Ken Coomer on Drums! groovy and punchy.
Of course Wilco now is a brilliant band but this is both ramshackle and imperious! What an incredible band this version of Wilco was!

I love the old young wide eyed naive Wilco so much. Thats all there is....
That's Bob Egan playing slide and pedal steel at this show. He was on a few tracks on "Being There" and was in the band for the supporting tour in 1996-97. Max Johnston also played on the record but was let go before they toured on it.

Jay on Steel and maybe Max Johnsons in there too.. Henneman was well gone by this time. This is 96-97. They played Ottawa on this tour, tiny place called the Cave. They didnt get there til midnight because there bus driver drove 2 hours past Ottawa and then had to come bcak. They set up there shit in about 20 minutes and played. There was huge tension in the room, lotta of banter back and forth. Tweedy is asking the crowd for pity on there poor tired souls:)

Yeah, I just echoed that sentiment below! I've seen them live twice in recent years but would have loved to see them in this era. As for drinking the Tweedy-ade, I would just totally eat him :)

That and the old VOX amps do NOT have the same components as the new vox amps. So there's that also..
