Satan time. He's a superboss once more. The Mastema questline as whole has several lore details, such as Mastema being implied to actually work for the Great Will/Axiom and not the God of Law and Satan still does so, just as he did in IV Apocalypse. There's also the fact that Satan in MegaTen is based on Ha-Satan from the Book of Job and Mastema in actual lore is essentially the same character The Arbiter himself, while possible to beat without cheesing it, is way harder due to how volatile everything he does can be, Megido Ark in particular being the nastiest. In contrast, as an ally he's sadly not very good due to Megido Ark's power being dependent on enemy numbers.
Honestly it depends how you build him. Yes Megido Ark is a trash skill. But replace it with Freikugel and give Satan every boost passive including Murderous and Bloody Glee and Satan is an unstoppable crit machine.
The great will is not the axiom, the great will is YHVHs whole existence (his 4A version), not the single heads that govern the throne in a universe. The Axiom is called the Great Reason. People get those mixed up. Basically, to sum up, Satan still serves the great will/YHVHs true form, and lucifer only defeated and transcended a single head. Thats why primal satan is still superior to even matter lucifer.
@@kennethlatorre5269 False. The Great Will of IV A and the Great Will of the rest of the franchise are one and the same. YHVH is just one aspect of it-except for here, where he's just some guy who happened to win the divine free-for-all.
Shout-out to Mastema for, no matter what game, no matter what time, no matter what his allegiance no matter his agenda no matter *what*, always being a fucking hater.
Yup, this battle is a doozy alright. I really dont think a typical player will be ready to take on this satanic son of a hee-ho the moment this quest was unlocked unless they prepare ahead of time as soon as the first cycle begins. As someome who went in both routes semi blind and dont have the Mitama DLCs to make grinding faster, I dont see a way to effectively strategize and number match this boss' outputs until the start of a very meticulously planned third cycle; to then allocate incenses and demon essence in order to craft a team that utilizes the utmost resource from both story routes. When I was challenging Satan in normal mode (2nd cycle) my Nahobino's highest stat is his strength, sitting at 176 and one of my main physical combatant, Hydra, is 180 Strength as opposed to my magic combatant, Amanozako, 176 Magic. On a good turn with the buffs/debuffs set up, we can smack Satan for around 12k damage and clear the field through Omagatoki Exploit. But with no support demons' vitality surpassing 120, we're all very much glass cannons walking on thin ice. Between all the demons that he couldve absorb and borrow Magatsuhi skills from, Titania, Arahabaki, Kaiwan, Fafnir, and Macabre are the least likely to end the run from my personal experience. Kaiwan's and Macabre's will especially allow Paraselene Blur to hit like a truck. Fafnir's Big Bang is dangerous on paper, but the damage can atleast be mitigated by buffs/debuffs as well as guarding. Its certainly a more consistent "loss" compare to the very RNG reliant Accursed Poison that Yatakarasu would've used. This also HAS to be stressed: when he brings out Saraswathi, she must be killed ASAP!!! Her presence is very reminiscent to that of Ananta in Shiva's battle as in if Satan absorbs her, the run is pretty much over. He will fully heal himself via Eternal Prayer when he is just about 20k HP away from crumbling. It happened to me once after spending a quarter of an hour chipping away his health and it was at that point I said screw it and turn the game off out of frustration. And this is cool af strategy on display here, you styled on him real well!
Definitely agree about the strategy and luck BUT if you're someone like me who just wants the rewards and story/lore, then I would highly recommend going for the free dlc safety difficulty since I just want to know what the hell is happening and want to face Godborn mode without that much hassle.
I just beat this fight first try without any preparation, and holy shit was it a clutch. If it wasn't for my Nahobeeho, the absolute GOAT, that not only dodged a fatal Megido Ark, but also dealt the finishing blow in a literal do-or-die situation, I would've lost an entire hour of my life. God bless Hee-ho!
I am beginning to wonder if this fight is even possible without mirage. Even with amazing strategy and great fight control when mirage is down for a turn he just obliterates 2 people if that person is the protagonist 3 times it's game over. Great job buff. Seeing you do it on hard in 25ish minutes when I did it on normal with an hour in battle is impressive. There's no way I could've done this on hard I tried like 5 times and I didn't even scratch him really.
On hard mode? Not really. I gave it a few tries myself before realizing that the moment my pacing slows down even a little, I'm already dead. The only way I could survive at all otherwise was with taunt, a Nahobino with 999 hp, him being at -2, Nahobino being at +2, and just for good measure, being doped.
I did it on normal without incenses but it seems like someone more skilled and determined could pull it off on hard. the thing is, there are certain rules for spamming Megido Ark so it can actually be avoided. tbh, im almost certain, it can be pulled off with this video's strategy like Arioch/Strategize
@@rockleejkooo It's possible without LM or Taunt, but it took me 90 minutes on hard with no cheese ( just your standard Marakumo build, no Arioch/GMG strategize cheese) and no grinding for incences, Demeter and Zeus were main stays, the rest were shuffled out. One thing that basically guarantees that he will never use Megido Ark is to never buff/debuff to +2/-2, that's the main trigger from what I've found, the rest doesn't matter at all. The real scummy thing about Satan is how draining it is on your MP reserves, and if you don't have Sakuya DLC ( like I didn't) you start burning through your stash of MP items pretty quickly.

Also do this after he absorbs kaiwan or macabre so he's light weak.
He used whole fight Omagatoki Strategie, basically with right demons it can debuff enemy/buff your team and he use Arioch/Masakado to clean rest of demons, need do that properly or by absorbing 1 of healer demons he can restore full hp and you will be dead soon. Need finish fight as faster as you can before Megido arc hit Nahobino twice/triple and there is no way to survive unless you have 250+ vitality.

I wish I did this instead wtf lol. Nice run. How many demons are needed to be dead for the full arioch passive and will u be doing all the super bosses again but without using strategize?
I think that for Arioch to be at full power, your *whole stock* needs to be dead. Which is obviously not very ideal to only have him and 23 slots filled with corpses, but at least he hits like a truck!
