What a beautiful knit top! I know how to knit but I am impatient with the slow pace of knitting and I always prefer the speed and simplicity of crochet. Knitting is a little of a headache when you make a mistake and try to fix it. Knitting has so many stitches in loops!! With crochet you normally have only one loop to carry so fixing mistakes is a breeze. However, knitting creates a much softer fabric. Knitted fabric is beautiful. This Cancun Lacy Top might be worth going through the hassles of knitting. You explain every step clearly and nicely. I might arm myself with patience and do it. Thank you very much for posting this video. This top is lovely.
You are so wonderful. The video is not bad so don't be hard on yourself - easy to follow. Thank you for taking the time to teach another great pattern.
oh my gosh girl, the blurriness is not that bad! yay! cute top and I am so happy you knit this one because I have been eyeing the box tops and couldn't find a knit pattern I liked enough. thanks a bunch!
I am quite new to knitting and wanted to learn how to knit a woman's top. So glad to find this and I applaud your teaching style. Get me to knit more, girl :)
So you don't need to make sleeves, you just sew it together and BAM! Done! That's so much easier. Thank you for the tutorial! It's perfect for weather here and the color is beautiful. I really want to try it out but I'm not very good at knitting yet. I'll try something simple first but I will definitely make this in the future. :D
Thank you so much great idea I made it and it turned in very nice also I made tablecloth and table runner using in each Two or Three stitches pattern I have lots of complements on them.
Hey! I want to tell you I have made this sweater! ;) It's my first knit project. I modified a little though, by adding some sleeves with SC crochet. It turns out exactly how I wanted it to be.. I have to admit though that I did make some mistakes in the mid of knitting which I really cannot make myself go back and do again.. Posted my work on your FB page! ;) I hope you will see it.
Oh, I'm using Cascade Ultra Pima in Coral and a size 9 40" circular needle. Yep, it's that large even with DK wt. I think next time I will use a smaller needle size. I usually knit one size up from gauge on everything but this time I should have used the size 8 needle. A good case for always checking your gauge.
Quick ?- have scrolled through all the comments, checked ravely, but cannot find how you came up with c/o of 99. Each different lace pattern consists of different multiples; ie 3+5, 3+2...nowhere can I find what stitch calculation is used for casting on...help please?
I believe it it it worked for the first lace pattern. But for some of them I had to knit two together at the end for it to work... probably one of the reasons why is it a pattern. But you can’t even tell so don’t stress!
+IKNITS This was so awesome I made about six of these for the girls in my family and we are going to the beach and we will be wearing these over our bathing suits...NICE WORK !
+Chante Berry That's awesome! I have a question that I hope you'll be able to answer. So I finished knitting and sewing my sweater, and when I put it on, the top half was a nice fit, but the bottom half was wayyyy to big. Like it didn't even curl at the bottom. It just went straight down. (I hope you know what I mean.) Did you have to wet block your sweaters? And if that doesn't work when I do it, I don't know what I'm going to do. I like the lacy pattern but I can't really wear it because it is too loose at the bottom. Hope you can help me. I'm really stuck :( Thanks
+LegoGirlMOC Oh okay I know what you mean sometimes wet blocking it works and if you want it to be fitted around your waist then I recommend doing like 80 stitches or so and also but the ones I made was like crop tops to wear at the beach...I hope you get what I am saying because sometimes people just dont get it
+Chante Berry Thank you! Yes, I get it. That makes sense. It totally slipped my mind that you could have been doing it as a crop top. Maybe eventually I'll try 80 stitches. But I'll most likely try wet blocking it first and if that doesn't work, I'll try 80 stitches. Thanks so much!
I'm making this now! I didn't know you had a video but I'm glad to see one! Yay! Going to follow along so I don't make any mistakes. 😁. I'm making front and back at the same time. Makes it easier for me to make sure I finish it. Thanks for the video! 😀
Yay🤩😍 thank you for this. I have had this pattern saved for months and just by chance came across this video. I have been intimidated by this pattern so I think I'll get started on it now!
this pattern is way to cute I'm so glad you decided to post it!! question though for the sleeves...so you sew six inches at the top then leave a 10 inch hole and then sew the rest of the way down?
Start watching at 16:43 but you start at the bottom and sew 6 inches which is the sides. And the rest of it is a hole for your arms to poke through. Does that make sense?
thanks for sharing, it's amazing tutorial and very easy to follow clear to watch and I can't wait to knit, btw normally am a crochet junkie but after I see your tutorial oh ya.... am in.
Omg 🤦 I didn't expect to ever fi d this 😳 you Just saved my lovely Pink yarn... I didn't quite understand how to knit those SS I was Making a big mass 😡 Thank you! 😁 💕 💞
Great video! Do you by any chance have the measurements of the final shirt? I would like to make this pattern, but it looks like it would be too small to fit me. Do you have any tips?
10:30 Confused on the solid mesh stitch. Row 3 on the pattern says k2*yo, sl1,k2,psso*k3 and row 5 starts w/ a k1 and ends with a k2. Does it make much difference? I followed the video, but mine didn’t have the holey look, so Idk what I did wrong. Instead the yarn overs are prominent. Would love some help if possible 🙏🏼
Hi, I'm a beginner knitter, and I noticed in the original pattern, for row 6 in the solid mesh stitch it says purl on the wrong side. But I didn't hear you mention this in the video. Should I just be purling normally?
How long would you say this took you to complete? Hours? days? Months? I'm a beginner-intermediate (I've made three scarves). Thanks so much for all your help!
I am interested in this - but I want to make it longer - more like a shift or tunic - it looks like you are starting from bottom - is that right? If so, maybe I could just add more to the bottom. If you know of any other similar type ideas for a tunic, I"d love to hear them. your videos are great.
Beautiful top I gotta make one, Oh i have a video request can you do a video on Wet Blocking? personally i never heard of that till you mentioned it in this video lol, so please can you do a video on what it is and how to do it and the purpose of doing it. thanks so much. Blizzards of love Chanelle
If you want to change the size, just add or subtract repeats. If you want to make it longer just add more lace rows. Noticed a lot of people commented so I thought I'd pop in.
Hi! I'm confused about the SOLID MESH STITCH. IN ROW 3: I'm only getting one final stitch to be knitted, not two as the patterns shows. What am I doing wrong? I mean, when ending this ROW, I do: *yo, sl 1 st knitwise, BUT THEN I ONLY HAVE ONE STITCH TO KNIT, NOT TWO. =(
Totally fine that it’s blurry, I’m going to try this for a spring craft fair, is that okay? Are there different sizes? Also absolutely have no idea what some of these stitches are so hopefully I can get it down quickly!
You are so sweet! Such a bummer, I might have to re-record it again. It’s not my pattern so you’ll have to check with the designer but I’m sure it’ll be fine! Have fun creating 😃
I have a problem with the number of stitches when you get to letter D. After knitting the first the sts. Decrease, what happens to the rest of the pattern getting the correct amt. of stitches .
Am I suppose to have the same amount of stitches on my needle throughout each section? With all the YO's, I'm either short a couple of stitches or more than what I had CO. Please help!
With the 'missing a stitch' thing.. I got so worried for a bit hahaha! So I casted on 99 stitches (+1 for the slip knot), and after I did two rows of knitting after the dropped stitch, I somehow gained an extra stitch! Then I had 101 stitches! It's so weird :I I'm still only a beginner so I don't know what exactly happened as well as what caused the extra stitch to randomly appear! :O
When creating the drop stitches, how do you fit all of the stitches on your needle? I have tried 2 separate times and both times I have ran out of room on my needle while doing the yarn over. I end up having around 20 remaining stitches that I cannot knit because there is no room left on my needle. PLEASE help I do not know what I am doing wrong.
Your needles are not long enough. Personally I Iike to use the circular needles as you can fit alot on them and the weight of the garment its on our lap. So less strain on the wrists
The eyelet stitch confuses me. Do I do the knit 1 knit 2 together for only one row followed by a pearl only row and then 4 knit only rows? Or do I repeat the k1 k2tgr a few rows? I'm lost!
hi!! really really love your video it's so easy to learn from!! can I ask, when casting on, if I want to make a smaller top, is there a specific number of stitches that I must cast on? eg multiples of 9 or 11? thank you so much :)
You just cast on in multiples. Say the lace pattern is multiples of 4. You just cast on any number that's a multiple of 4 up or down to the size you wanted. Since it's just 2 rectangles the math is pretty easy.
For height sizes, you can knit more or less rows. For row sizes, just cast on more or less stitches. This looks like a medium (but it also is big as it’s designed to hang).., cast on until you get to a size you like :)
How are they making this bigger, looks like a 2X or bigger in the pictures. I am between a 2X and a 3X, how many chain stitches should I cast on? Is 99 CO stitches for all sizes?
Please help me. I am knitting a drop stitch scarf. It is stockinette. So after 2" of knitting, I have to knit 1 then YO 4 times throughout the row, 40 total stitches. But when I turn my work around and purl 1 then drop 4 YO's, they look terrible. I have ripped it out about 8 times. It is the Shibui Knits Tier scarf on Ravelry It calls for 3 different rows of drops, each are 2" of stockinette in between. The first is 4 YO, the next of 3 YO and the last of 2 YO. This gets repeated at the end of the scarf. Is their something unique about having to purl the opposite side.
99 stitches
Knit for 9 rows
Then do eyelet stitch: A
Row1: k Row2/4: p
Row3: knit 2, *move yarn to the front and knit two together, knit 1* repeat *bold*
Knit 4 rows between lace panels
Now do dropped stitch: B
Row1: k1 *k1 then wrap yarn around your needle 3 times*
Row2: k2 then drop 2 wraps
*k1 drop 3 wraps*
Only knit 2 rows after dropped stitch
Now do solid mesh stitch: D
Row1: k
Row2/4/6/8: p
Row3: k1 *yo, slip 1 stitch knitwise, k2, take slipped stitch and pass it over the 2 stitches you just knitted*
Row5: *yo (1st time creating extra stitch, or u could go under and around after slipping 1)slip 1, k2, take slipped stitch and pass it over the 2 stitches you just knitted* knit last 2
Row 7: k2, *yo, slip 1 stitch knitwise, k2, take slipped stitch and pass it over the 2 stitches you just knitted*
Knit 4 rows
Netting Stitch: C
Row1: k1 *yo k2tog* k1
Repeat this row 8 times
You may need to add an extra stitch at the end. To do this take
-0- Stitch on needle
O. Stitch below it
Take the stitch below it and slip it on too, creating another stitch.
This comment was mainly for myself so I can remember all that without checking the video but if it helps u too you're welcome. 👌
Thank you so much for your amazing efforts in posting the text format.
God bless you.

Never knited half of these stitches in my life and managed to finish this in one weekend! thanks girl! i love your work
Even with the blurriness it's totally easy to follow and so CUTE. I think I need to go yarn shopping.

oh my gosh girl, the blurriness is not that bad! yay! cute top and I am so happy you knit this one because I have been eyeing the box tops and couldn't find a knit pattern I liked enough. thanks a bunch!

Thats not bad at all!!! This will be my second sweater im bretty confident with everything else but im terrified of sweaters lol
Is this a fits all? I use XL would it fit?

K, thanks...was looking to change the size slightly without having to knit a full gauge; gauge it is I guess- thanks for the quick reply!!
Its a really adorable sweater you made. Would you mind telling me how to lengthen the sleeves? I wish to make one with little long sleeves.
Thanks
Ma'am it's just awesome.... The way of speak... So fluent..... Mamm..plz upload more such videos
Great video!! I love to see a longer project like sweater or tank top!!! Thanks for sharing!!

+LegoGirlMOC Your so welcome
Wet blocking didn't work. I'm going to try doing 80 stitches with a slightly different yarn that's a little more stretchy. Hopefully it will work
Wow this came out great will try it and make it for all 5 of my sisters!!! Looks really beautiful on you!!!
I'm making this now! I didn't know you had a video but I'm glad to see one! Yay! Going to follow along so I don't make any mistakes. 😁. I'm making front and back at the same time. Makes it easier for me to make sure I finish it. Thanks for the video! 😀

This is my first video I've seen in your channel and I see that you are amazing at it
Adorable top and great tutorial, thank you.
Thank you 😊
Fabulous...you're a great teacher. I can't wait to make this!
this pattern is way to cute I'm so glad you decided to post it!! question though for the sleeves...so you sew six inches at the top then leave a 10 inch hole and then sew the rest of the way down?

+iKNITS OK so since you made it bigger (witch I probably will) how many extra inches did you sew?
Sew the sides except the top 10"
Very easy to understand. So what if it was a little blurry- it was explained well. I'm going to try doing this myself!
it's so pretty an interesting project for those who get bored
thanks for sharing, it's amazing tutorial and very easy to follow clear to watch and I can't wait to knit, btw normally am a crochet junkie but after I see your tutorial oh ya.... am in.

It is so fancy to see a project on YT that I have already finished
Omg!!! That's a beautiful sweater :) and the blurry is okay. Not too bad
I wanna make this!! havent really had d courage to knit blouse yet
Exactly my dilemma
This is so beautiful!! Pls keep making tutorials like these😍😍
thanks. great pattern and you are a wonderful teacher.
+Sandra Summer-Parks Thank you, you just made my day! So sweet of you to say.
cute! wondering if you could do a crochet vid?
I like it, I want to try 👌🏻🙆🏼, so so beautiful and nice, thank you so much about this video 💕..
love the pattern...can't wait to try it! Thank you
Very simple and easy when following your instructions but I wonder if I can work with 6 size needle ?
Where can I find the written directions for this pattern? Could not find it on your webpage. Thanks
Your talented. That top is really nice

My next project. Thanks!
P.s. 3 cable stitch booties say thank you! I wish to send you the photos of them.
Can I ask, your vid tutorial is slightly different to the written instructions in a few places. Such as the solid mesh pattern. Which should I follow?
Beautiful design 👌

+Ember Abbadear Great idea, thank you!
If you want to change the size, just add or subtract repeats. If you want to make it longer just add more lace rows. Noticed a lot of people commented so I thought I'd pop in.
Whoops! How do I fix a dropped? Dropped stitch? Such a lovely stitch but I am having a terrible time. Any ideas?
=(
You did superb job👍👍👍love from India but How you make hands and neck...I don't get you dear...plss explain
Have fun creating 😃
iKNITS Thanks for responding so quickly! I can’t wait to make this :)
If you didn't say anything I wouldn't have even noticed! Love your videos 😍😍
Oh you are amazing! So sweet, thank you 😘
I have a problem with the number of stitches when you get to letter D. After knitting the first the sts. Decrease, what happens to the rest of the pattern getting the correct amt. of stitches .
So if I want to make this for a person who wears a L or XL ,how big should I cast on?
Nice and clear for me ...love from Holland....
The pattern says one size but how true is that? Anyone know about how big it'll go? I would need a XL or 2X for the person I have in mind
Sassy Caramel 99 stitches will be enough
Yarn is stretchy, and you can also stretch it by soaking it in water. So I think it can work
I have been looking for this vid everywhere!! Can you please tell me how you do the neck piece and sleeves please I am struggling ha
Same here
What about the sleeves
Am I suppose to have the same amount of stitches on my needle throughout each section? With all the YO's, I'm either short a couple of stitches or more than what I had CO. Please help!
don't be hard on Yourself you are kind and generous
Is this like a medium/large?
I'm confused about the thing you mentioned when you were short a stitch. How exactly did you add an extra one? Beautiful sweater!!
she was short one because she's not slipping the first stitch like the pattern says
+iKNITS I was searching the video and I'm a bit confused, what do you do for row 7 of the solid mesh stitch?
With the 'missing a stitch' thing.. I got so worried for a bit hahaha!
So I casted on 99 stitches (+1 for the slip knot), and after I did two rows of knitting after the dropped stitch, I somehow gained an extra stitch! Then I had 101 stitches!
It's so weird :I
I'm still only a beginner so I don't know what exactly happened as well as what caused the extra stitch to randomly appear! :O
Cool design
great video. I was wondering if you knew how to do it on the loom.
Nice👍
If I use a size 7 will its come out a little smaller?
The eyelet stitch confuses me. Do I do the knit 1 knit 2 together for only one row followed by a pearl only row and then 4 knit only rows? Or do I repeat the k1 k2tgr a few rows? I'm lost!
What would I do if I wanted to make it cropped???? And by the way I love your videos, and you are so beautiful!!!!
hi!! really really love your video it's so easy to learn from!! can I ask, when casting on, if I want to make a smaller top, is there a specific number of stitches that I must cast on? eg multiples of 9 or 11? thank you so much :)
that is also my question...thank you....
You just cast on in multiples. Say the lace pattern is multiples of 4. You just cast on any number that's a multiple of 4 up or down to the size you wanted. Since it's just 2 rectangles the math is pretty easy.
Should we divide the thread into equal parts while starting the first step?
Hello! I’m trying again. First off your paper pattern reads 98 stitches and the video says 99. Please advise. Thank you!
It is awesome and very helpful
For the drop stitch, how do y'all fit all the yarn? I'm running out of room
A circular needle would be best to knit it with.
Do you know if the pattern has different sizes? Like small, medium, large? Thanks
For height sizes, you can knit more or less rows. For row sizes, just cast on more or less stitches. This looks like a medium (but it also is big as it’s designed to hang).., cast on until you get to a size you like :)
Siobhan Stollznow Thank you so much! You’re so sweet :D
How are they making this bigger, looks like a 2X or bigger in the pictures. I am between a 2X and a 3X, how many chain stitches should I cast on? Is 99 CO stitches for all sizes?
No, I would CO maybe 15-20 extra sts to make this 2x or 3x
Question, in the video you say CO 99 stitches, but the actual pattern says 98. Why is that and which should do?
It’s been a long time since I made this but I think it’s because the stitch was an odd repeat.
iKNITS Ok, thanks!
Thank you 💞 I like your blurry video 🤩
what are the measurments? I am using bigger needels and I keep making if too big or too small. how long is 99 stiches?
I cannot remember, it’s been a long time since I made this but I am pretty sure that the measurements is on the written pattern
Very nice video class thanking you so much
Please help me.
What should I do if I want to extend the length of it more than the length of knitting stick?
If I want to make this a little bigger for someone with a bigger bust, what do the stitched cast on need be in multiples of? (for the lace :))
how to do the neck ?
thanks for sharing a wonderful idea 😊
