You are so smart to have a tutorial for your designs for newer knitters. It allows us to have courage to knit something beyond our skill level!
Oh my God, thank you for this! Crocheting lace is easy but knitting it is so hard since there are so very few good tutorials on it. Just what I needed, God bless you 💖.
I can say from experience: it's not as hard as it looks! The hardest thing about knitting lace is that you need to concentrate a bit more when knitting this. All the special stitches are very feasible and if you don't understand one or the terms confuse you: there are so many resources online! I learned everything from youtube and I actually made this Love Letter Top (I got to test it) and it looks so nice ☺
Das Top gefällt mir gut, aber wie das Stricken im tutorial gezeigt wird, finde ich furchtbar und sieht auch sehr umständlich aus. Muster zu stricken erfordert einfach Konzentration, mehr nicht!
Hi, i want to start learning too and I am overwhelmed how to begin. Any youtube videos you can recommend for beginners? @@chica7144
This is so beautiful. I was attacked by my cat a couple of days ago and I can't do anything with my right hand but lay around. I've been watching your tutorial. Planning on making this just as soon as I can use my hand again. I just love this.
Omg, What did your cat do to you? And why? :( Are you okay now?
Prayers❤
The first video I saw of yours was the one of your wedding dress! I was hooked by your immense talent and I am so grateful you share it with us! Thank you!!
Thanks a lot for this tutorial! It is really useful and comforting to know that if I'm not sure about something one the pattern, I could refer to your video!! The result is so beautiful! Can't wait that it dries to wear it !!
I thought that The Love Letter was pretty when I first laid my eyes on it, but I thought that this would take too long to make. Well, I decided to make it anyway, and I have no regrets. I did underestimate the length and had to add on to it after completing Chart D of the pattern. Needless to say, my Love Letter top looks slightly different, but I actually LOVE it!!! I wore it so proudly today 😊❤
@Kutovakika I think there is an error in the gauge explanation around minute 6:39. You mentioned your gauge is 20 st for 4 in. You then mentioned if someone got 22 st instead of 20, that means they knit looser. And you also mentioned if they got 18 that means they knit tighter than you. I think it is the other way around. If they got 22 st instead of 20, that means they knit tighter than you. Vice versa with the 18 st. Just want to make sure newer knitters are not confused from the explanation in the video about gauge. Gauge is important.
I noticed the same thing.
I am a new knitter and made one of your tops after purchasing the pattern. I practiced with an inexpensive yarn and larger needles in order to practice the techniques. I love this top, so I bought the pattern and I will practice, practice, practice, before using the yarn for the real thing.
This is so beautiful. Would you consider a variation for us ladies who need a bit more coverage for the arms. Maybe a cap sleeve?
Make the original pattern for a daughter or niece and then you can make a larger size with your own personally designed cap sleeves.
Asking a designer to create a pattern for your own specific needs will not pay the designer for the hours she will need to put into into your personal request.
I'm a crocheter that's starting to get more serious about knitting, I feel like this is a masterclass on knitting stitches!! Such a beautiful top, I'd love to make it cropped 😍
Hello, I am not a knitter, but a crocheter... However, I love watching each of your videos and it would even make me want to try swapping my hook for needles.
Good continuation to you and thank you !!!
After being blown away by your wedding dress video I just had to make this. What a great summer top! So, I counted the rows and figured out that 2 rows a day(I have other knitting to "get done") would bring me to summer. And how fun to knit this "with" Kika?! I turned on the video yesterday and now my plan is ruined. I can't put it down! Oh well, I could have bigger problems. 🤣
I rarely comment but I always think how friendly and cute you are and what a lovely energy you have, Kika. 🌸🌺
Oh thank you so much ☺️🥰
I think the gauge goes the other way around... if my sample has more stitches per 10cm I should use a bigger needle. Sorry to be pointing that out... Your work is the BEST and I love everything you knit! I bought some of your patterns and they are perfect. Congrats! Keep it up! You are creating a better world with your art!
Yes, I agree with you. If you have more stitches in your gauge sample it means that you knit tighter than the recommended gauge and should therefore go up a needle size.
You are now my #1 designer! I just started knitting to patterns in 2022. I'm obsessed with your designs. I literally am just finishing you Sailor Swift Top, I started the StripeHype dress but it's too big (I joined in the round, tried it on, and it's too big - but I haven't frogged it yet), I started the StripeHype Sweater instead, and now I want to knit THIS. Just gorgeous. Buying it now, but will TRY to be patient and finish the other 2 first. I've never used a chart to knit, but this tutorial gave me the confidence to give it a try. Huge thanks to all the time, effort and work you put into making the tutorial for all of us newbies ;-)
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful gift of knitting this fabulous top!! You are appreciated, Ms. Lady ❤
Your tutorials are greatly appreciated!!!
Always something to learn. Thank you
I love knitting lace but this looks challenging, which is why I bought it! I’m hoping to surprise my DIL with this beautiful top for her birthday in July… or whenever I finish, if it takes longer.
Very happy to have your video for support. ❤
I've knitted over 20 years now and I stumbled upon this video. It immediately hooked me and I have never seen such a beautiful knitted lace top 😍 I just bought your pattern and I look forward to this project! Your videos sparkle of joy and inspired me to try out some new things! (I never tried that much lace before haha) I love the design knits of your sweaters and I can't wait for your book "Knit this"! 😁
I was looking for a gift for one of my daughters. This is perfect. I have knit lace, but not a full garment. This is beautiful! ❤❤❤
Soooo pretty!!! Also very impressive how fast you made the second one, wow! I made one of the tests in a soft yellow and only just finished it, and I really loved it! You are just so talented that you can come up with these combinations of lace patterns and then design an amazing top like this one!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for helping me test the pattern out 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial! It's such a comfort to know that if I get stuck on this pattern, I can refer to this video. I'm half-way through this project and am really enjoying it - I plan to knit more as important gifts for loved ones.
I am a crocheter, but I really want to learn to knit. You make it look so easy. I will try again. This is a beautiful top.
Love this top! Very clear and detailled tutorial! Absolutely love all your content! 😊
Thanks, I really enjoy the fact you have the tutorials for your designs. if more designers did this, they'd sell more patterns.
I love this pattern, purchased the pattern and waiting on my yarn delivery to knit 5 in different colors. You do such great tutorials Kika with such a sweet and happy personality…..thank you! 🌸💗🌸💗🌸💗🌸💗🌸
I was looking forward to it. Your designs are impressive.
Following you a couple of months but this will be my first top with you:)
Keep going, love from Turkey 🌸
Hi Kika, just to let u know that I am your BIG fan from Singapore! It's a tiny country and very far from u...
I got inspired by u thru the RUclips video about you making your own wedding dress! OMG! U are so amazing and talented!
I used to knit during my teens but I stopped for many yrs....
i picked up this hobby again during covid and I am now a 50yr old housewife...I wish to start doing things that I like....knitting!
I downloaded your instructions on the Sailor Swift Top, I completed it and I felt amazing!!
A big thank u to u! Your instructions are clear and easy to understand, plus your video tutorial, it really helps!! Thanks!
now I am going to challenge myself to do this Love Letter Top! Pray for me....hahahaha....
oh! and I also recently bought your book! Fabulous!
Please continue to inspire all of us! Take care!
I had no idea I wanted to knit lace…till you made me see it! Thank you so much. 2 sweaters to finish. This will be next up.
Un grand merci de France pour ce magnifique ouvrage et l'enthousiasme partagé dans cette vidéo !!!
I’m only 20 minutes into the video and I had to buy the pattern, which I did, and I started right in. I have been teaching myself how to knit lace and this top is so beautiful and enticing, I just had to start right in. Having the tutorial and the pattern to follow along is great. Thank you so much for making this video.
I have a site saved just for all ur vlogs. Im making this garment bc there is a visual tutorial. I know it is hard to do these vlogs but it helps me understand ur design patterns. Thanks for sharing.
I don't wear tops, but i do love a new Kika video. I always learn something ❤
Thank you so much that makes me so glad to hear 🥰
I've learnt so much from you! Your beanie and beginner sweater video started my knitting journey ❤
Just love to watch you knit. From uk. I know and knitting Continental and find it so much easier. Just love your work. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow... Love your technic for the bobble.... thank youuu Kika... love this!!!
Какая красота!
Всех благ Вам и удачи, Кика. Берегите себя ❤️.
Love love love this gorgeous top. I absolutely love the heart shapes and the lace work is stunning and romantic. Another spectacular creation ❤❤❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I am so very grateful for you and this beautiful pattern. I have been so afraid of lace knitting and you have made it easy and accessible. I have officially fallen in LOVE with lace! I will be finishing it up this week and I can’t wait to wear it in the last few weeks of warm weather. It is a gorgeous pattern and I know I will make another for next summer. Thank you sooo much!
An other super-clear tutorial! I started knitting thanks to your Lola top tutorial, I’m now DESPERATELY waiting for a tutorial on the Wishbone sweater
You are such a breath of fresh air and an amazing instructor!!! Thanks so much for this beautiful pattern and tutorial 👏😊👏
How fantastic are those tutorials! Thank you so much! I have done lots of bobbles, but this technique is the best by far!!! 😘
Absolutely beautiful. I love all of your patterns, you are a very talented designer. And thank you for the great tutorials, they really help when knitting one of your patterns. This would also be lovely as a short sleeve top (hint hint).
Beautiful pattern! I have purchased it, a few days ago I also bought some linen yarn to make it! I knit a small sample and it's so promising! I can't wait to have this project under my fingers! 😊
I’m doing this while watching, yes, plus writing ✍️ the stitch pattern alongas i knit 🧶. Looking good. Thank you 😊 plus, crocheting 🧶 a two hexagon cardigan, and knitting 🧶 socks 🧦. Filling weekend 😃🌸🌻❤️🌞🌷🌹🌺
Your tutorials are wonderful for any knitter, whether novice or experienced and your designs are really lovely. I really like the way you create the I-Cord edge. I've not seen a version like this before. I do like how this lies very flat. I will have to see if I can squeeze this top into my rather long list of projects. Your Artic Light sweater is also on my list too! ☺
I love this!! And I love that you said “theres so much going on, so don’t worry too much about mistakes.” I’ve just finished chart A1 and it looks great despite a few mistakes 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so much for your dedication to the craft ❤️
did you not get a mistake at row 25 , there is only 3 stitches before the orange line and for row 25 we need 4 stitches ?
@@margaretpretorius4786I’m stuck in the same place. Did you figure it out?
I know you probably won't read this but I just wanted to say thanks for this amazing pattern and video. I just finished making it and it's definitely my favourite project so far! This was so fun to make and kinda just want to start another one immediately :D
I love this top Kika. I will start it right away. Thank you so much.
Wonderful! That makes me so glad to hear 😍
This is so stunning, can't wait to make it for Summer! ❤
This is so gorgeous ❤. Thank you so much for your kindness in sharing. God bless you 🙏
Love, love, LOVE this gorgeous top ❤ Thank you for a marvellous tutorial; of course, I will try to knit this! I need to bye your pattern and yarn immediately; I can't wait to start this project! Much love to you, dear Kika 🧶
I'm aliiiiive!!! Use a lifeline (using waste yarn) so u don't lose your progress! I can't wait to start this.
As always, very clear tutorial . You make everything looks so easy. I'm ready to try it even if i'm a new knitter Thanks to you, i try and suceed. ❤❤
What a super cute top!! Thank you for this tutorial!
I am so thankfull , God bless you ! This is a video what I just need for my new project!😊
Everyone has said what I wanted to say, this is just beautifully done, thanks 😊
Absolutely stunning, Kika 🥰 thank you 💖
Thank you so much!ä 💕
amazing tutorial!!!! i've already tried a few of these stitches in other patterns but it doesn't seem overwhelmingly difficult anymore!! thank you for making this video
An experienced lace knitted here, who loves cotton, so I obviously I love this idea, and have myself designed similar ones before :) (Though I think that the standard cast-on method is the long-tail method, not the backwards loop one, and the former IMO is also much easier to do & to knit into :))
This top is a piece of art! ❤️
I just purchased The Love Letter Pattern. This tutorial convinced me to try a lace garment. Im keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you for this. I will look to see if you have more such projects with tutorials. Im so excited!! :) :)
I found a second hand knitting book with lace pattern. Nice tutorial. Thanks
Fantastic. Thank you SO much for the row by row tutorial!
Looks beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
I love your love letter sweater it is so gorgeous. I hope I will be able to knit one just like that. Thank you so much for sharing. I love you tutorial. It’s so clear so easy to understand. Thank you Kika bye-bye
What a lovely top! I don't like tops (at all!) and I consider myself already a pretty good lace-knitter BUT I'm still tempted to make the top!! It's SOOOOO cute!
I am so happy you are doing tutorials but I am certainly not as advanced as you. God gave you a great talent 🙏
Very talented Knitter, one of the best chanel of its kind... maybe too advanced for me, but still worth watching...🌸
Oh wow, what a gift this tutorial. Thank you so much for sharing and teaching us how to tackle your wonderful pattern. Adding this one in my cart for sure.l! ..thank you❤
Thanks you so much for your amazing videos and you explained so well and easy to follow👍🙏👌❤️
Your ways of teaching are so pleasant and great attitude as well🙏🙏🙏🤩
I'm confused - when explaining gauge, you say 'when you have 22 stitches instead of 20, it means you're knitting looser and you'll have to choose a smaller needle'. But when you have more stitches within the 10 cm, it means you're knitting tighter, right? Which means you need a bigger needle, not a smaller one. So exactly the other way around. Or am I mistaken here?
So beautiful and you have explained in so well 🤓❣️
I'm from Germany and I understood everything 👌🏻
Well done ‼️ Thank you ❣️
I love your work very much 👍🏻
I’ve done a bit of lace before, but nothing as fancy as this. I love it and have just ordered my yarn to make one in purple 😊
I love it!❤❤❤ Maybe I knit it for my daugther even in this color, or for one of my 3 daugthers in law. ❤❤❤ You are an artist!! Best wishes from Berlin, Germany😊
I love the hearts 💕
I thank god I know the stitches and techniques. Oh, doing on straight needles, looking like yours. 👍🏾
I hope ı can knit this beauty. thank you so much for your tutorial. big help!
Absolutely gorgeous, thanks for the tutorial, this will definitely be added to my ‘to do’ list. You are my favourite designer, your patterns are always so beautiful ❤❤xx
I just completed your sailor swift top, it was wonderful. Thank you! Am looking forward to trying the love letter too, it's lovely 💟
Thank you soo much for this amazing tutorial! You are a wonderful teacher.
Hey there. What a beautiful top you have created. I am wondering however if I - as you say - am knitting looser if I squeeze 22 stitches into the gauge instead of 20? Isn't my gauge actually tighter if I have more stitches? 😕 I do actually get confused with gauge so please don't mind. I love your videos and your patterns anyway. ❤I have actually knitted my very first sweater based on your Sunday Brunch Sweater and it turned out great even though I turned it into a top down raglan.... 🙂 Have a great day!
yes, in that case you're actually knitting tighter than the gauge requires. I think she mixed it up in the video. I tend to knit tighter (get more stitches in my gauge swatch) than Kika in her projects and patterns, so I always go 0.5mm up in needle size for needles sized 2.5mm-4mm and 1mm up for needles sized 4.5mm or higher. So for this pattern, you need to be working with 3.5mm needles and 3mm for the hem and i-cord edges. Hope that helps!
@@chica7144 thank you! this helps indeed. Every time I struggle and it takes a while to get my head around it. :-) Glad you helped me out.
Oh gosh I’m so sorry if I got it mixed up in the video 🙀😅 Yes iff you’ve got 22 sts then you are knitting tighter and should go up a needle size 😀👍🏼
@@Kutovakika all sorted in the end. I just got confused. 🙂 Luckily in this wonderful community there are plenty of knitters to help out if needed. the rest of the tutorial was easy to follow and totally clear as usual. 👋
I caught that too. I'm glad you clarified in the comments!
Absolutely beautiful….would undertake this…if i were some yrs younger…with different sircumstances….truly super❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Girl, this top is everything! 🙌🏽
Beautiful, Beautiful top!!
I love it so much!!
I will definitely make it 😊
I would appreciate it so much if you were able to show how make sleeves on this project. Thank you.
You're amazing! Thanks for sharing. I run to buy the pattern. Hugs and kisses from Italy ❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I’m going to make it. You are so sweet! ❤❤❤
Stunning looking for the pattern right away 🩶🤍🩷
Wow, what a beautiful top you designed! I'm in love!!! Thank you, Kika))
Чудова робота,ви супер молодець🫶👏🥰
wow kika your hair looks great!!! thanks for a wonderfully informative video 💕
Can’t wait to do it! Pattern bough, yarn in place :) now the boring gauge swatch and I’m starting. I wander if it would look good with i-cord at the hem as well. Will probably test this option because I love I-cord
...доступно,понятно,логично.. продолжайте❤
Love this! The only thing I got a little confused on was your guidance on gauge (gauge always challenges my slow math mind) if I have too many stitches doesn’t that mean I’m knitting tighter and then wouldn’t I switch to a larger needle (or try to relax a bit)? I’m usually on the tighter side and I think I solved it in the past with bigger needles. I always get this part mixed up and have to do a little trial and error.
Yes you’re logic is correct I got it mixed up in the video I’m so sorry 😅🙀 Sometimes when filming and after talking for a long time the words het mixed up and I can’t believe I didn’t spot my mistake in the editing, I’m so sorry for the confusion 😬
@@Kutovakika oh my gosh, no need at all for apologies - thank you so much for the clarification! I always get mixed up trying to get my gauge right. Your clarification is really helpful and the video is a gift! Thank you
Excellent teaching of lace concept. Beautiful top.
So intricate and beautiful.
You are an amazint artist with the purest heart! 😎☕
Thank you so much 💕💕
Love this top. Thank you for all your hard work. ❤
Lov❤lace. I need to try this. I am a heart girl. Thank you.
thank you for this wonderful piece of art. i have a little advice . you can name the charts for front with F1 ,F2... and for the back with B1,B2...
Love love love this.
