Your podcast is always so informative. I don’t think you need to over explain about charts because of one person. People should do their own homework, if that’s what they need. I actually prefer charts because I am a visual person. I love when a podcaster goes into detail about construction. There are many times I have been inspired to knit a garment because of interesting construction. I’m currently knitting the Lino cardigan. It’s a new pattern that just came out. I’m not a fan of the construction and lack of schematic. Ultimately, I’m going to love my garment, because it is heavily modified. Again, I really appreciate how well you explain these patterns. You are amazing!

A great selection! I highly recommend the Jakers by Isabell Kramer. One of my favourite jumpers of all time.
I don’t think you need to be responsible for our purchase decisions. If people have specific needs, they need to look deeper themselves.

beautiful patterns. If a pattern uses charts, and one doesn't like them, it is fairly easy to turn it into written instructions. Sometimes I will do that to make it easier for me to memorize.

  • @joanwootton9388

Another wonderful podcast with so many great pattern suggestions. If someone is having difficulty using charts I would suggest they colour code the chart. K2together could be pink, SSK, blue etc. I also increase the size of the chart so that it is easier to see. Using a magnetic board and following the rows with a ruler under or over the row you are working on keeps you on the correct row. I use all three of these suggestions and find they make doing lace charts so much easier.

YES!!! I have downloaded, and hope to knit one day soon, the Braidy Loop sweater! I’ve had the yarn, Debbie Bliss Rialto DK with Midnatssol by Cama Rose. In Lysbela for a few months. It’s a baby alpaca/tencel lace weight. I’ve been searching for inspiration for this combo and you have given me that! So thanks for your great videos.

Thank you so much for showing us the 'Braidy loop' sweater - I really need that in my wardrobe! I already knit the Alpine Bloom sweater last year and I have recently finished the Framed sweater - I knit that because I'm not going to Rhinebeck, living in Denmark makes it kind of expensive to travel all the way to Rhinebeck to go yarn shopping but at least I have the sweater - and I have the Knitting for Olive yarn shop right around the corner!
I like your podcast very much - everything you knit is so neat and nice! 😊

Hi Bobbie, I love your spirit, and chuckling with you when you get tickled. :) I always find inspiration from your podcasts, and have put 4 of the patterns on my list. The Sunday Tee, Jakers, Gro Shawl, and Asterie. I’ve made the Gro Socks, and just love them. As you said, they are heirloom quality with the botanicals, and the Amble sock yarn (by Fibre Co.) makes them extra special… soft and squishy with a halo.

I love your enthusiasm for this topic. What a delightful take on “my favorites for fall” and I join you in LOVING the botanical texture patterns. I’ve added the Asterie to my queue. I was determined not to buy yarn for a year, but oh my that pattern! I’ve also added the Loops designs to my favorites, but they will have to wait unless I find a great yarn in my stash. I don’t usually love colorwork, but these botanical designs are lovely. The Polina was my favorite, but again…may have to wait as my queue is so long.
I, too, was in the “no charts!” camp…until I took the time to learn them. They do indeed make things much easier. I hope all knitters will at some point take the time to try a chart and see if they don’t agree. As to “you recommended but didn’t say….”, I hope we will accept responsibility to look at anyones recommendation, on any topic, and see if it works for us. I’m sad by how many podcasters are feeling the need to apologize for some perceived slight or omission. We each need to look into an interesting pattern for its suitability for us in yarn content, sizes offered, design style, pattern writing, etc.
Thank you for another great episode.
Oh, and on the question of lace + fingering = fingering, it is easiest for me to think about in terms of stitches per inch (or per 4”) rather than the needle sizes (as that varies widely as we all have unique tension). The 22sts in 4” (I think that is what that was the gauge) is, according to my research, a DK weight.

I think for me the old way is “ see-write-do” works well for my brain…. Maybe this may work for others as well. This works well when you are following several graphs ( cables etc), within the pattern, at least for me. Thank you for today.

Thanks for another great video. I don't like complicated lace charts. But, I just transcribe them and work from there. Easy peasy.
I'm tempted to knit half a dozen of your picks. I love your Sunday tee.

I had the Fie and Leaflette saved in Favorites and added the Polina Pullover, and Asterie. I'm currently knitting Pothos by Beth McDonald Stone and Rococo by Sari Nordlun. In hibernation: Scarflette, by Justyna Lorkowska and Ilia by Michelle Wang amongst various scrappy shawls I add to periodically. I particularly like to see what you choose to knit in what I imagine a fairly warm year around climate? I live in northern Calif. Thanks so much for the roundup of autumn sweaters

Hi Bobbi, one of my favorite podcaster! I was thinking of doing framed cowl she came out with. Might be a good way to try color work. Of course I hear socks are the best way to start color work. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for another fun episode, Bobbi. You have inspired me to try the Autumn Alpine Sweater! I have some sport weight yarn that I would love to knit into such a stunning pattern. Cheers from Nova Scotia Canada 🍁

Hello! I’m really enjoying knitting the Autumn Alpine sweater! One of the attributes that sold me on this pattern was that it requires sport weight yarn. Not as heavy as dk or worsted or as hot. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! 😍

Hi Bobbi! Enjoy your podcast so much. I loved all your sweaters especially your Autumn Alpine Bloom. I cannot blame you for being excited to finish that! I made the summer Alpine Bloom and used a kit. I ran out of yarn before I did the edge and sleeve edging. I ordered another skein but there was too much of a contrast. I am going to frog that versionand venture into the Autumn Alpine Bloom. Your yarn choice looks beautiful! Thank you your episode.

Thanks so much for putting together this bundle. I love almost all of the patterns. The first one I want to knit is the Braidy Loop. My youngest daughter would love this. She prefers the oversized sweaters and this one would definitely fit her style. I’m currently working on the Vanilla Fluff sweater for her as part of The Woolly Thistle’s KAL. I’m using Rauma Finulfarn and Plum held together. It’s a bit scratchy so I’m crossing my fingers that it will soften up after washing.

Oh my goodness, Bobbi!! I hope you haven’t frogged your Frame. I had a thought that if you just frog back to the ribbing you could put that on a barber cord and look for another pattern that you like and use that ribbing for the new sweater. Tubular cast-on is so beautiful, it would be a shame to have to start that over again. Even if the new sweater is a few stitches different, you can easily adjust that count in your first knit row. Just a thought….. Love your chosen patterns…always!!!
