The animatronics for that dark ride were so real looking!! Best animatronics I’ve seen in a dark ride thus far!! 👍
The salt water that comes with ur clams is to rinse the bellys off and get the dirt off before u dip it in the butter. 😁 I live in Rockland Maine. They're having the 76th annual lobster festival as we speak until Sunday. If ur still in Maine u Def should come. There's a HUGE parade tomorrow morning down Maine st in Rockland too. 😊
Your dark ride videos are always a highlight, CB. I've never seen a black-lit Scrambler with a light show. Very cool. Great stuff.
It's the best ride.
What he forgot to mentionwas the music! ELO blasting and hyping you up! Classic
Conneaut Lake Park had the Ultimate Trip back in the 70s and 80s…best indoor scrambler with music and lights. RIP CLP!
@@SnelsemBush Gardens Williamsburg had one also. No music, just strobes and murals painted on the wall.
Very impressive haunted house! that first animatronic looked almost like a real person there about to talk.
Thanks for the new video. That new dark ride is one of the best I have seen. Being new they did a great theming job. The entrance makes you feel like you are checking in to a hotel. The props seem really lifelike and unlike on some older dark rides the scenes you see were very clear and having the ability to shoot at the bad guys adds another element. I hope they have a great success with the new ride. The food you showed makes me want to get into the car and head to Maine for some nice fresh seafood and candy as well as seeing another old style traditional amusement park. Keep on taking us along to see the latest adventures you experience.
Maine Native here saying thank you for visiting us. Hope to catch you in your natural habitat next time! Us Mainers would love to have a meet up! Im sure Maine has alot of Carpetbagger subscribers.
Me! 👋
Omg those lobsters looked so good I wanted to reach through the screen and grab them! That dark ride looked awesome. : )
I love how advanced Haunted Houses are becoming with LCD screen effects
Gosh this video brings back memories from when I grew up there! Funtown/Splashtown USA has changed a lot since I went there as a kid (now 27). Astrosphere was also my favorite! I miss living in Maine.
Oh wow I can’t believe they put a haunted dark ride there!! it used to be an empty arcade area.
I’m honestly glad they turned that old arcade building into a ride.
The cup of water with steamed clams.... Wash clam in water rid of any sand then dip in butter and eat👍😋 love your videos!
Makes me wonder if every new dark ride nowadays has to be a shooter. Most of the time I'd rather sit back and enjoy the ride.
Now I want some lobster.
Exactly! I don't want to be responsible for the animatronics working or not. Guess it's a way to save wear and tear on them if they're not going all the time.
Yeah I don’t card for the shooter style dark rides eithef
I agree. And they can be frustrating to my son that has motor control issues.
The animatronics in haunted hotel are pretty good. The scientist in the cue introducing the story looked very realistic.
I’ve been waiting so long for this video! I worked at Funtown for 5 summers as a ride operator and then as a ride lead. It’s so nostalgic for me to revisit the place that continues to be so important to me! Love the new dark ride, now the only ride I don’t know how to operate in the park! And LOVE Lenny the Moose, he’s a bit gross haha but he is my hometown chocolate moose!
@TheCarpetbagger Hey Jacob!! I'm so glad you made this video! I'm from New Hampshire and grew up going to Fun Town and Old Orchard Beach with my family. I'm glad to see you're back in New England!! I'm a huge fan and have been watching your channel for many years now. And now you're right near me haha. If you pass through York Maine it's be cool if you stopped by my work at Key Auto center on Route 1 so I could meet you in person! I'm the detailer here , free carwash!! Haha. I appreciate what you do man, always putting out great content. Take care Jacob and enjoy New England! (You should check out Haunted Overload in Lee New Hampshire too) I live right by it.
I want a Route 1 road trip and he HAS to visit Fun Spot!
@@TriflingTravels @TheCarpetbagger hear that Jacob? Fun Spot, worlds largest arcade, Laconia NH! Do it! Haha. 😁
Not going to lie, those lobsters made me drool.
Right, they looked good 😊 👍
That Dark Ride was really Amazing!
That dark ride had such a great mix of props and projections. The Dr haunts my dreams, though
That's the best looking darkride I've seen in a while! It's especially impressive that it's at such a relatively small park. Very good and professional effects that would almost pass at a Disney or Universal park. I'm just hoping the park will be able to properly maintain it when effects inevitability start breaking down.
I love that big chocolate moose! Saw it in 2012!
There should be more commercials of these so that way more people will know about it
2 new immersive attractions have recently opened on the vegas strip. Fantasy Lab and Paradox. And a playground is coming soon to the Luxor. I wasn't sure if they were on your radar so I wanted to mention them. I would love to see you check them out. They also have flyover but I think it's hit or miss if they will let you film.
They gave you broth the clams were steamed in to dip first to get any sand off then dip into the butter. Pull the skin off the tail.
Thanks for comming up to Maine! Dont worry about those steamers - they can be kind of an art form to eat. While your here, make sure ya nab a TRUE Maine meal - a Moxie, a red hot dog from the steamer at any has station (NOT the rolling dog), and a bag of Humpty Dumpty BBQ chips. Its the Maine way 😊
Don't forget a woopie pie 😁
holy! Im an awful host. Absolutly a woopie pie for desert!
Of course they closed it by the time I arrived! It was a nice bonus to meet you however! 😊
It was great meeting you!
I rode on it yesterday it was quite fun. Sally out did them selves. Was hoping you would check seashore but if it’s not your thing that’s fine. Hope you had a good time. Ps palace playland has a old carasel
Looks like fun and and looks like a fun amusement park. 💗👍 Cheers stay hydrated and have fun. Never been to Maine, but now I would like to check it out.💗 Thanks for sharing.😊
my home state! it's so awesome that you're checking out the dark ride. now i want to go this season.
Enjoy your time in Maine great dark ride vudeo...Much love and respect from Maine ❤
Love the colors on the Hippocampus 🩵🩷🩵🩷🩵
That first Chinese Dragon 🐉🐲 was wonderful as was the pink 🩷 zebra 🦓. That was one of the best dark rides ever, would have preferred it didn't have the shooting element, but all in all the animatronics and light effects were outstanding 😸
I'm glad you're enjoying your time in Maine.❤
That looked like a fun park. Best Dark ride I have seen so far . Loved the Carousels. Lenny and the bears was really cool. Wish I could eat shell fish allergies don't allow . You looked like you really enjoyed it Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
I can't eat shellfish either for the same reason. I ate it when I was young and loved it but developed the allergy later in life. I really miss it sometimes.
@@pysankar the same thing here ate it as a child but can't now .I miss lobster the most .
Ahh! I wish I knew you were here! I'm in Maine and have always wanted to meet you. I'm glad you came back up and enjoyed your time! Hope to bump into you at some point in the future ❤ Also this ride impresses me to be at Funyown, can't wait to see it myself 😊
I think I wanna move to Maine now, lol. Lobsters are my favorite, n they sell them like burgers there. Awesome video. Thank you for sharing 😊
When i was younger, we would go here every year as a kid, they havent added anything in years. Man i miss this place
Those animatronics look really good! Fun ride, would be better without the guns I think.
Braving the astrophere and dragons decent is a right of passage for a kid growing up in maine. Glad to have you here!
Technically not a Hippocampus as those have horse heads, this was a sea serpent , but also super cool! Love that you're hitting all of the Carousels, that was one of my bucket list goals for a long time!
20:02 Did someone pass gas? LOL! Great video CB. That dark ride was amazing.
Hahaha, I’m cackling so hard 😂
My favorite was the Carousels but of course that lobster looked delicious Thank you for another great video Jacob
Astrosphere Is One Of The Original Rides At FUNTOWN. Glad You Got A Chance To Visit.
Also the Astros here is the only ride in the u .s. that is like the gyrosphre that used to be at seabreeze in Rochester. The seabreeze ride was built in the 70 s and is now sadly gone, but the astrospere is it's spiritual twin. So when you here people from the city you met Jen in talk about the gyrosphre at seabreeze, think of the astrospere at fun town
Good morning Jacob 🌞 love seeing the old school amusement park 🎢 these are classic. I like the dark rides you love them lol. Stay safe and take care. I been watching you for years, never gets old. Lol
I love Maine. I want to see a Maine series like the Texas series
i'm a long-time subscriber and there's something about your videos that's so comforting
Cool ride! Thanks for taking us along!
Old Orchard Beach in Maine if you really want old school.
Maine lobster feast, EXCELLENT!!!
always a great day to wake up and see Jacob post another banger of a video. thanks for all the work you do bro keep up the great work
the cup of "salt water" was just water to get off any extra sand, so you were right! i used to dig for these as a kid in RI and they're the best! happy to see you on the east coast and in my hometown (bristol CT)- hope you enjoyed it!
Those bumper cars have the pole on the back that makes electrical contact on the metal ceiling.. that's the way I remember em as a kid In the 70s.
Thanks for posting. I used to go there every year as a kid. They had a FANTASTIC Haunted House in the 80's!! It was so cool!! I believe that it caught fire and was torn down.
Thanks for posting!!
Funtown is a fun little amusement park. My dad used to bring me there in the summer. That new ride looks good. I love carousels at amusement parks. I also like trains and the antique cars.
Sounds like you’re on or near Route 1. First, thank you for coming back to New England. Please visit FunSpot in New Hampshire, where King of Kong was filmed and where Billy Mitchell suggested you visit. Second, I’m once again asking for a Route 1 road trip. And lastly, I hope you stick around for our fair season!
I moved out of Maine in 1993; so much has changed since I left. I remember Splashtown used to be miniature golf.
Wow this place has many rides I was on as a kid. Roulette aka trabaunt, and the thunder bolt, plus more I am sure. So glad to see classic amusement park rides still around. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Sally is based in my hometown! Didn't know this ride was opened already! How exciting!!
Awesome video jacob happy safe travels 👍
Love to see the new innovation in rides and I think this one really looked like a lot of fun and new ideas!
I stumbled across this while searching for videos of Funtowns original Haunted House from the late 80s- early 90s, and didn't even realize they'd opened a new Haunted attraction. The original is the best Haunt I've ever been to... It was an actual house, an old gothic style manor and had dozens of live actors working daily. I remember my friends and I being truly terrified there as a child, getting lost in a pitch black maze section, and panicking until one of the actors took pity on us and broke character to let us out the emergency exit. 😂 Wish they'd kept it but I can only imagine how expensive the upkeep was on that place.
I heard the original haunt was scarier
I live in Maine and so glad you made it for a visit! I didn't get a chance to go to Funtown last year, so I'm looking forward to checking it out this summer.
17:42 I have a photo of my on that when I was about 8. I'm almost 20 now, crazy
Check out Lagoon in Farmington , Utah . These rides are so similar, and that's where I grew up. Great state fair in September too. Thanks , Jacob. We love what you do, and you too. Happy travels, man.
Glad that you went on a new dark ride Jake! Have fun and safe travels! 😊
Safe travels 😊❤!
this dark ride look really high-tech! did SallyCorp make this incredible dark ride? glad you had fun at funtown! (Hope you didn't chip any teeth on the antlers of the that chocolate moose!)
Guilty! 😀
@@SallyDarkRides I knew it was you guys, only the greatest manufacturer of dark rides in the theme park industry could make an attraction as detailed as this. Thanks!
That dark ride looked super fun. The animatronics weren’t bad either
I just went on this ride yesterday with my girlfriend. We both loved it. It was so much fun. She pretended to be scared just to be funny. We rode it three times.
Lots of impressive effects, that animatronic in the line was so close to being lifelike.
Definitely go to old orchard for fried clams but for a really unique experience go to Portland, you can take a ferry out to the islands and check out battery steel which I believe is on peaks Island. It’s an old abandoned underground fort that you can explore and has cool old rooms and echo chambers, and they occasionally throw events there with art and turn it into a museum. Also the urban farm fermentory in Portland is really great. And j’s oyster bar and the porthole restaurants are not to be missed!
I wish Kings Island would update their dark ride to something like this
Wow that one old guy that got in your shot after the scrambler is a real Richard.
Dr.Theodora looks like Sandra Bullock. I was jealous of your lobster dinner!
Beautiful theming as always by Sally Dark Rides.
You are making me hungry eating those lobsters. Looks delicious.
My stomping grounds! I live in Rockland Maine 😁
I love everything that you showed in this video. Makes me want to visit Maine!
If you plan on being in Maine for a bit, you should check out the Desert of Maine!! One of the first roadside attractions and one of my all time favorites!
He actually already has. He went with his daughter. Not sure if the video is still up or not though
@@byrdistheword8393 ah, was wondering why I hadn't seen it. Must have been a while back, I can't say I remember him going to Maine in recent memory!
Wow! They really did an amazing job. It's beautiful. And the animatronics and effects are very upscale too. Great for a non-disney type park. ❤❤❤
Great video Mr Carpetbagger 😊 Thank you!!!!
I normally don't like the shooter-hybrid dark rides but this one was really well done and actually put a lot of effort into the dark ride elements. I got the sense that you could actually still get a good ride experience out of that one without focusing too much on shooting targets. That's the way I'd prefer to experience shooter-hybrid dark rides and I hope this marks a change in the Sally corporation's work
I’m a native Mainer in Saco!! Somehow I missed your time here. But your videos were awesome !! Thank You!!
Two of my favorite foods 🦞 lobster & steamed clams ....my mouth was watering the whole time !!!!
Luv the chocolate moose and 🐻💗!
I love lobster as well. Nice vlog.
Keep safe on your journeys😊
18:19 Jacob says "brain" as the organ fires up. Made me chuckle, as if it was in response to the name of an organ.
We were back east (NH my home) last week of July. We hit our favorite food places and had plenty of fried seafood and steamed lobster.
Thanks for coming to Maine!! Stick around for awhile you’ll never want to leave :)
Thanks for the video 😊
We love your road trips!!!
This was fun. Loved the dark ride and the sea food.. I need to eat some lobster 🦞. Its been a long time. You're not to far from Providence RI! !Have you looked into the water fire show yet? Lots too see right in the same area. Walking around isn't too difficult because it's all pretty close together. Its great there this time of year!
Yay! I'm glad you finally made it to Maine again :) enjoy!
Thank you so much!!! Now I want to go on a road trip to Maine. 💞💞💞
Greetings from boston !
i never knew about Funtown usa , only 90 miles away from me so i'll have to check it out.
I love steamers , my family used to cook them in a barrel with seaweed and red hot stones.
Been going to Funtown Splashtown my whole life and they used to have a really good haunted house that was with all real people. Best haunted house I had ever been to. The water park is great too.
I like how they have those old helicopters ride. Which I rode at Hoffmans as a kid.
The Animatronics certainly are getting better .
Im surprised they not done a stephan king ride 😅
I hope you had such a great time in Maine!!! 🦞
Loved this video
I want to go there now! Awesome video
