Been a fan of your channel for a few years now. Started watching you when I was struggling with addiction/depression and alone. Now I’m married to the love of my life and have a child! It’s been a wild ride but I’m so happy every time you upload. I hope you’re doing well Jacob! Love and respect from Texas
We stayed in The Hilton above Niagara Falls, on The Canadian side, with a beautiful view. Got some good video footage! Breathtaking! Also road The Maid of Myst into The Falls.
I go to Niagara falls 4-5 times a year I love the place was there 2 weeks ago was hopping I was going to see you there so it’s funny that your there aging now😂love when you go there Niagara is always changing love to watch the old videos of Guinness world records there and all that brings back memories 👌
I want you to know that I appreciate every video you make even though I am visually impaired so I don't travel much. These videos help me out a lot because even though I can't see it when I hear you describe things it's almost like I can see it. So thank you for all you do and keep up the great work and I always look forward to your next video.
They finally have fixed up the NY side a lot. At one time it was but a poor looking place compared to the Canadian side. Now if only the NY side in the city of Niagara Falls looked better. It looks like a place I wouldn't want to walk around at night. But that's true in so many American cities now.
Once again I'm a couple days late from catching you in Canada! Next time you come over, come down to Niagara On The Lake! I work in one of the little shops down there, I'd love to meet you!
As a former Tour Director for both the American and Canadian sides, I realize the whole falls area is a huge tourist trap but the Falls are free to enjoy! Do ride the “Maid of the Mist”- and get wet!
I love that you come to Niagara Falls frequently! I'm a life long resident and love hearing your take on my hometown. The Skylon arcade definitely needs an update lol. The one figure in Rock Legends gift shop that you were asking about is Gord Downie the singer from the legendary Canadian group The Tragically Hip who passed away a few years ago. Thanks for posting! Looking forward to your next visit!
Hey HiddenJackpots, looks like we found the same video. Good job identifying Gord Downie. If anyone else is reading this comment, check out HiddenJackpots videos of Niagara Falls and it's great food scene!
Its nice to see they kept some old memorabilia on Clifton hill. I thoufgt the floating granite ball would of been gone once the Guniss book of world record was closed. I remember the old WWF store, glad they kept remnants of the piledriver, also inside the casino they kept part of maple leaf village that was an amazing time back in the 80's. Hope they keep that stuff forever so history isnt forgotten
My family and I are planning a trip to Niagara Falls in June 2024. Looking forward to it. Thank you for sharing and giving my family and I lots of ideas. Love your channel
The Tower Hotel has amazing views of all 3 falls that are amazing to wake up to and go to sleep with. Also, the revolving dining room at Skylon is amazing.
This video made my day :) I started following you last October while planning a trip to Niagara Falls. Then the next night I randomly saw you at a haunt in Columbus! Now it's almost a year later and I have my trip to NF coming up on October 1st. One of the things I have planned is the Skylon Tower. Hadn't been up on it since I was extremely young. I'm also staying at one of those hotels overlooking the falls. This video had made me even more excited for my trip. Your awe of the falls and your excited for Clifton Hill brings me joy.
I also like the animatronics there though some of them started to lose functionality. Don’t know if they kinda fixed the man in the car at Ripley’s but I believe it was static around 2019. It was working fine the last time I saw it.
Boy , you sure know how to have fun!!You pick the best places to go and share with us. Great video!! I sure wish I can go to all these places you go to!!❤❤Thank you so much! I’m so glad I found you on You Tube!
They were just building the Skylon Tower, when my family moved to Lewiston, New York in 1964. I was 9 years old. Already standing were the Oneida & Seagram Towers!
My hubby and I stayed in one of those hotels years ago and left our balcony door open all night to be able to hear the falls. .funny now but not that night, hubby woke up thinking a fire had started. All he could see in our darkened room was the MIST ...it was scary until we realized what it was 😮... But the view is stunning and you will never forget staying that close to the falls
I keep missing the Carpetbagger by a matter of days!!! I was JUST at Clifton Hills last weekend, and 100% thought of Jacob and his packed car and what a nightmare it must be trying to get into CA. lol! And I wondered how he handled that - and now we get a full on explanation! As a Rochester native, Jacob, I sincerely hope I get to catch you in the wild before you head south with Jen! Safe travels as always.
Oh my God you don't know how much this is not just nostalgic but at the same time weird because right where you're standing right where you're standing you don't know how many times I visited that park over the years. My family lives in Niagara Falls well I don't know if you're familiar since you're from North Carolina and a part of Indiana but she my grandmother that we visit all the time plus some family she lives in Gasport New York my family used to live in Lockport New York so seeing you in that spot by the Niagara Falls sign directory and then that big tourist Welcome Center behind you it just brings back so many memories and the years and years that we've traveled back there to see family and to go to the falls when we travel back there all the time every year since we live in Kentucky now so it's just weird to see and I'm happy to see it so thank you for this video because this is true fun we don't get to do much when we're at the Falls just see the Falls maybe go into that big welcome center and a little shops on the side but that's it so to see other stuff there is going to be fine because me and my boyfriend want to travel with my mom up there one year and then get a rental car so we can do more stuff than our normal travels around the Falls that we don't normally get to do because we're stuck with my mom so yes seeing this is just wow and I am sorry this is extremely long. In Rochester where Jen is from I know not very well but well enough because my mom's best friend used to go to Rochester hospital she sadly passed away years ago due to lung cancer and hers wasn't from smoking it was hereditary her room her mom actually had it or someone else in her family actually had it then her brother had it so yeah but I do remember when I was smaller Rochester area somewhat well for me it's just weird seeing you there I mean I know you're were there recently at the haunted houses or whatever on the American side looking around and one of your other videos but seeing you in that direct area exact spot is just weird I don't know why but it is. You naming all those places it makes me miss New York even though I moved when I was I think in 4th or 5th grade so it's still sad because I miss my hometown even though I wasn't living there that long buy I think 94 we left and in 95 my mom had my sister so yeah it's just I kind of miss it maybe not live there again but stay for awhile but yeah but yeah it kind of hurts seeing it. But I'm just jabbering now. This is probably extremely long.
I've been to Canada twice, and both times got stopped. I'm visiting for the third time later this month, hopefully this one will go smoothly. This video is making me tempted to visit Clifton Hill on my free day, will have to see how easy the journey is from Toronto
Thanks for bringing us along. I have been to Niagara Falls twice, once when I was really young and the other maybe 10 years ago. My second trip was in the middle of winter when most tourist stuff wasn't accessible. You gave me some ideas and inspiration to get there again and actually explore. Keep up the great work my friend
Hi. I really enjoyed your adventure to the falls. The Skylon tower definitely has amazing views of all the waterfalls and you’d also get great views if you took the helicopter ride. It was good to see the arcade in the Skylon tower…they have some really unique games but too bad not many people go play them. I love Niagara Falls and I never get tired of seeing it. Great video! 👍😊🇨🇦
Hey @WeGoPlacesTours, funny to meet you here, lol. That yellow bug elevator making all that noise was the one you filmed stuck at the top. Wonder if this video was filmed before or after you shot your video. If anyone else is reading this comment, check out WeGoPlacesTours videos of Niagara Falls!!!
There is an elevator that take you under the falls on the Canadian side. Not the best veiw but sureal experience hearing the roar of the water above and seing the falls at the end of the tunnel.
Welcome back to Canada! :) We crossed paths at the CNE back in 2022, always enjoy your videos! I wish I could’ve given you a tour of the haunt I owned before it got struck by lightning and burnt down. 😅
Next time Jacob you will have to try the Journey Behind the Falls and the Tunnel, if you haven't already. There is no more impressive vantage point than looking UP at the Falls from below! PS My mother's first full-time job was operating the elevators at the Skylon back in the early 70's!
I live 5 minutes from Niagara Falls. I remember being there live about 10 yrs ago when Nick Wallenda tight rope walked across the falls onto the Canadian side. It was awesome
Before the arcade there used to be amusement rides. There was a Ferris Wheel, a Tilt-A-Whirl, Merry-Go-Round, and a few other kiddie rides. Also there used to be a third level that you could go up that's been closed off. The wax figure of the guy wearing the Jaws t-shirt is of the late Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip.
I believe that persona of Mr. Bowie is Ziggy Stardust. The falls are breathtaking as always. I was a teenager when I first saw them and was in awe. Still am, really. And now I want to stealth camp on Goat Island.
Skylon Tower is incredible, we love that few. It is funny though, I think the same arcade games were out of order when we filmed our video there a couple of years ago.
It's gorgeous there. We stayed in Canada a few years ago and did some activities. We ate dinner in the building right there at the edge. Only disturbing thing is when people sit on the railing. Crazy.
Ive only been to Canada once back in the 80's i was like 10 we to a ferry boat from Michigan to a place called Boblo Island Amusement Park i still have pictures somewhere from there. It closed down in 93. I would have loved to see the falls it looks so pretty. I also loved the animatronics in your video
Oh my gosh, love this video. Rock Store is my fav!! I was screaming at my tv for you to go in and you did so i went crazy. Sad the Rock wax Musuem closed
Hi. I've never been to New York State Park Niagara Falls. My daughter was conceived in the Marriot on the left. It has by far the best view of the Canadian falls.
"The Hip" were a phenomenon in Canada and Western New York until Gord passed away in 2017. For those who like an alternative-y rock sound, give them a listen. You'll be glad you did.
The skylon tower arcade space was once home to a small amusement park, featuring a dark ride, boat racing, a shooting gallery and an assortment of flat rides in addition to a much larger, fully functional arcade. Truly a shame to see what it’s become, but it has a certain atmosphere now that is very unique, if a bit melancholic.
I lived in Niagara Falls, my whole life and have never been up the Skylon Tower, what pretty views from the top also, when you were filming Clifton Hill from the top, it kind a look like little Canada in Toronto anyways loved the video as always ❤ also just saw the part where you recreate the little Canada photo and wow looks the exact same 😂 😂
I completely understand your nervousness when crossing the border. Having grown up in Detroit I've crossed over into Canada many times for various reasons and it was always nerve wracking for me.
Imagine having to cross official borders every 300 - 400 kilometers. That's what Europe was like around the late 70s. And yes, like Jacob says, a certain official confronting tone was used to start nervousness in people. I re-lived that a few years ago when travelling with my son to the U.K., after the Brexit, for a holiday. Brrrr
He actually got detained for having a taser in his car several years back and i think he is flagged now. If you have a chance, search for the video. Kinda funny now because it turned out okay. Poor Jacob.
I used to have the Nexus pass for a few years which made the crossing simple. But it expired and the last time I crossed I got sent to the border control office and was put in a room by myself for probably half an hour, not knowing why. They took my passport and kept it while I waited. Then a uniformed officer came in and asked me several questions about why I was coming into Canada. I said just to see the falls and then he left me alone again. Another officer came in and said I could go, never did find out what was going on, and they didn't to tell me. Haven't tried to cross the border since. This was right after the border was reopened after Covid.
Hiya!👋🏼 Learned about your channel during a WeGoPlacesTours livestream, sir, and I'm so happy to be a new subscriber. I love your charisma and energy and can watch your videos for hours.
Loved this video! I have in-laws in Niagara Falls US and spent a lot of time there for holidays and vacations. One has passed away and one is in assisted living now so the trips are rare now. Great great family memories there and I miss those days. Next time stay at The Red Coach Inn right by the falls. It’s haunted!!!! It’s been featured on a few shows.
Sad to see Galaxy Force not working. I was there a few months ago and it was fully operational. Fun fact, it’s only 1 of 2 left in the entire world. Sad to see it down!
When I was a kid, we called the yellow elevators on the Skylon Tower 'bugs,' but, man that area has changed since I was growing up in that area! There used to be two theme parks in Canada near the Falls - Maple Leaf Village and Pyramid Place (home to one of the first IMAX screens). Skylon used to have an indoor amusement park as well! Then there were a bunch of tiny parks between Niagara Falls, NY and Buffalo including Fantasy Island, Fun & Games, and Ellicott Park. There was also a water park in Niagara Falls, NY called Niagara Splash and a very short-lived indoor park on that side as well. And then there was the Winter Gardens Greenhouse complex...
I usually go to the falls around march break and/or early June, if anyone remembers classic attractions like "Criminals hall of fame", "Alien encounter", "Screamers house of horrors", "Adventure Dome 3D theater", "Ripley's 4D Moving theater", "Rock Stars Wax Museum", "Brick City", and the original versions of "Movieland wax museum"+Ripley's Odditorium" feel free to leave me a comment shout!
At least you weren't diverted 2 hours away. My great grandmother was from czechoslovakia but became a U.S. citizens coming through Ellis Island; we were going to Clifton Hill for a weekend getaway and upon reaching the boarder each person was asked where they were from; thus was before needing a passport to cross over; my great grandmother told the boarder patrol she was from czechoclovakia. She spoke broken English so we had to go to the main office to prove she was a U.S. citizen.
If you're looking for a nice place to stay the Sheraton on the Canadian side is wonderful. The balconies open and you can see the falls. We had a fake fireplace in the room also.
I love the animatronics! I have been to the Canadian side, and I don't think that the Skylon Tower was there. I remember going to a restaurant over there that turned so we could see the falls.
Awesome video. Jacob oh I remember that day when they found the taser on you. I have one just like it. I was so scared for you that day.. Stay safe...tell Jenn hello..
Wonderful tour of the falls & canada ! Thanks buddy !
Your right Jacob; the tower is the best view out

I'm glad you are visiting these place now while they are close to you. Before you know it, you will be back in your home.
I hope the jet boat is still running and that you ride in it.
As a local who enjoys all the touristy stuff "'retro" is such a nice way of saying how dated the Skylon Tower is lol
A video on Grand Island would be great!
The wax figure in the Jaws shirt was Gord Downie lead singer of the Tragically Hip, a Canadian legend who sadly passed away a few years ago.
Absolute legend. The Hip's music is part of Canadiana. Have a listen, Jacob. It will grow in you.
@@bcrispchannel When I lived in Seattle they were fairly well known there, but here in California hardly anyone knows them.
Wheat Kings
The first time i saw the falls i couldnt believe its right in the middle of town most natural wonders are in the middle of nowhere
The elevator operator has an amazing voice!

I just left Clifton Hill yesterday. Been several times. Always a good fun cheesy tourist trap. 💜
Glad they kept Gene Simmons from KISS! Loved that museum!
35:48! Jacob that was AWESOME!!! Life imitates art imitating life! THAT was a fantastic shot!!!!
NY side looks much better than when we went years ago

Skylon Tower is one of my favourite places anywhere! I have Wonderfalls on DVD. Interesting show. I fell in love with Niagara Falls when I was little.
Glad we got to see it, prior to moving to WNC. Scouting out your suggestions, and having a great time!
Thank you so very much for sharing your visit to Niagara falls. The skylon tower is awesome! I can't wait to see what comes next.

@@iworkout6912 Wow. I've never been to Canada. Never been out of the U.S. That's sounds so scary.
I’ve never lived more than a couple hours from Gatlinburg and it’s great to see these other places that have that same feel.
It made me chuckle thinking of the passersby hearing you talking about embalming fluid into your camera while walking through a park.
JAWS shirt was Gord Downey from The Hip!! Great tower tour 👌
RIP Gord...how did The Buffalo News put it a few years ago? Something like, "Gord was that super-cool older brother you wish you had."
Thank you for the video! Brings back memories of when I was there in 2018. Beautiful place 😊🌈
They should have a Starbucks and a Tim Horton’s on opposite sides of the Skylon building.
LOL, then let them duke it out!
😂🤣😄
I sat in an electric chair at the criminal museum. There used to be people dressed as Dracula and Frankenstein that would pose for pictures
@@kareneveland2243 they should bring those back to attract more tourists
Got the crap scared out of me as a kid in the 70's by the guy that would sit in the gold Roll's Royce in front of Movieland.
@@kareneveland2243 I have a pic of me and The Frankenstein monster.
Dazzleland arcade. Guiness book of records, and Arby's r.i.p.
LOVE WOMDERFALLS! 💙💙💙💙💙
I'm excited to see this. Prob never get there so I'm getting a free travel guide
Yay....👍👍🍿...
I have Wonderfalls on DVD! 😁
I love the animatronics! I have been to the Canadian side, and I don't think that the Skylon Tower was there. I remember going to a restaurant over there that turned so we could see the falls.
The Skylon looks like a giant UFO using its tractor beam to haul up cars!
That's funny! There's an actual restaurant in NF called The Flying Saucer!
Better view one of the helicopter tours when they are operating.
Thank you for once again, taking us way up high, so we don't have to. You go many places I'd like to go to in person, but that's not one.
Awesome video. Jacob oh I remember that day when they found the taser on you. I have one just like it. I was so scared for you that day..
Stay safe...tell Jenn hello..
OMG! I LOVED Wonder Falls! I was sad it got cut off short; it had so much potential as a series but there was only 1 season.
Also, check out Pushing Daisies and Dead Like Me if you are looking for any other early 2000's series that were cut off in their prime.
Been in the Skylon many times. In the basement level there used to be an indoor amusement park! Ferris wheel, tilt a whirl, etc. shame it's gone.
I guess that explains how vast the basement arcade is
