I see the version you have is 64Gb, but the newest update is only 16Gb with no 64Gb option. Is this going to be a completely different experience? Or do I have to get the older 64Gb version FIRST and then the 16Gb firmware update?
@@LunatiqHigh anytime you update it overwrites it. My newest 1.1.5 video should have the 64GB linked
@@ReadTextMsg TY so much. If this doesn't work, I guess my RG35XX H is defective. I've had it for 2 weeks and it will not turn on, I even got it the exact power rating for the charging brick. still won't turn on after charging all night. Had to order a new micro SD card as the one it came with was no name. fingers crossed, thanks for these videos
@@LunatiqHigh yeah the MicroSD is trash, I've been using a Sandisk, and of course I've been making these videos using it updating adding games etc
win32 disk imager did the job on the first try, rufus wouldn't work at all to mount img. Now my anbernic that would not start up and had battey issues works perfeclty fine again ! thxx.

My computer says I need to format the stock sd card before I can use it, but if i format it the computer says it will erase the data. What do I do??
@@jb44423 nope, never format, I mean realistically that's what we're doing anyways, BUT when you do that, it will delete everything. So don't do that when you put it in

How do I have to do if I want to mantain my save data?
There's a folder called saved data in the original, you SHOULD be able to copy that over and have it work. I didn't try that so I can't say for certain
Thank you for tutorial, It would be so much faster to download the 16Gb one and copy the roms from the backup you created back to the sd card

I had an issue using Balena Etcher. I flashed the newest FW as of today. It looked like it worked, all folders were there, but when I tried to add roms I found there was no extra space. Maybe I gotta create the new volume first.

Meaning that we only need to unzip the one file and write it, it'll auto write everything onto new SD?
But the roms let it remain zip?
With using google we can actually pikaboo inside the rom zip files before extracting it.
So we arrange the roms and adding our own games into it BEFORE we unzip that "one file" correct?
Then only the roms that included in the file will goes together in the writing process,. Do I understand this correctly ?
Correct, that .IMG file rewrites the ENTIRE card. But the 64GB IMG file will have all default roms already on it. If you want to keep all your old ROMs, you copy them to a new folder, and then you place them back into the NEW folder.
But you should copy all the old files anyways to have everything just in case

thanks for the walk through. I just followed for the same firmware install rg35xx H 240428. I dunno if something changed but rufus 3.21 was included in the first unzip and the one you used 7 zip for I just used a regular compressed unzip (I have 7 zip but didnt use it). I checked the 16gb file and it was a 7zip file so I would have needed it for that. Then I didnt partition the drive because roofus took care of it. For me time wise it was 3 hour download, 10 minute unzip, 10 minute unzip, 20 minute rufus firmware write. I didnt need to download anything but what anbernic supplied so that was nice.
Glad it worked! Yeah I'm sure there's other ways to go about doing it that's how I do mine :)
any idea if a 256 microsd is too big?
@@craigjones2375 it SHOULD be fine, your FAT32 Would be the ROMs and you'll have a lot of extra space for games and such

I use the stock 64gb card for that, so yes you can

@@Adrian-xs8pp whatever card you're going to update, you have to partition it. So copy over all the old files just in case, partition the 128, you'll get everything back, anything missing you can swap over

Just my dad gave me MB disc reader and not GB disc reader and I have to give it back to him and now it wasn't enough to write the img to burn on ps2 game lol😅
So if he doesn't have a GB disc to copy it then, I'll tell him I'll buy it.
