Nice job, Stewart. Since the personnel changes at the end of the 70s, the introduction of synths and the steady decline of that once amazing voice, I'd largely given up on "new" JT music. You've allowed me access to songs I would not have otherwise heard and I'm grateful for that.
Sweet! Well done, Stewart! Thank you.
Great playing and singing Stewart! That was gorgeous.
Great choice from the album. I'd love to hear you do Brief Visitation as well. I really like the album. I think it's great, but as great as I think it is. I think RockFlot is even better.. Wolf Unchained, or Hammer on Hammer. Would be great choices from that album. Anyway my Tull brother, keep on Tullen.
so cool a 2022 Ian anderson composition I never heard him yet play .. you obviously nailed it regardless.. cool tune!
Your brief reference here led me back to #88 in this catalogue (Life is a Long Song) which you dubbed the last in this series. 78 songs later, it's good to see you haven't stopped.
Stewart, have you ever received any feedback from Ian or anyone in his circle as to his thoughts on your excellent interpretations of his wonderful music.
Excellent rendition! Thank you.
I did, I did, I did enjoy it! thanks again
Nicely done, sir! I always enjoy your color commentary concerning the construction of the songs. Thank you.
Thank you so much Stewart for all your great Tull covers, to be able to hear your acoustic versions is such a breath of fresh air, like hearing the songs all over again with some new texture. Very beautifully done, keep on searching out more songs. I wonder why you have not played much from Homo Erraticus, I feel that is a great Ian solo album, so many spirited songs on that one. Also I wonder if you could have a go at my two favorite songs from Divinities: In the Grip of Stronger Stuff and In a Black Box -- I wonder if those could be attempted on an acoustic guitar? Cheers - you bring much joy too us fellow Tull fanatics.
Fantástico! Muchas gracias, maestro!
Nice folk song
Bravo!
Exelente , como siempre Stewart !!!! No habia escuchado esta cancion .. Ahora en noviembre vuelve a Buenos Aires, Martin Barre con su gira 50 años de Aqualung. Saludos, y hermoso el sonido de tu guitarra
Another fantastic rendition! I hope you take on some of the other acoustic songs from the Zealot Gene, some really great playing by Ian.
Sadly, I suspect that album is the curtain call for Ian's guitar playing. He did not play any at all on Rok Flote, and has not played any in concert for the last several months at least. I'm wondering if he no longer has the dexterity to play in that Ian style. 😔
It's about the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter
Hi, yes of course you’re right - “the intermission in the Passion Play” as he says in the sleeve notes. I was supposed to mention this in my intro remarks and then say that the phrase “Where did Saturday go?” also brings to mind a weekend night lost in the memory. Which was a bit of a facetious joke, but also based on the next line in Ian’s sleeve notes, about how Saturday night is just an intermission even for the faithful in Cardiff. But I forgot to explain.
I love your version of this song. Thanks for clarifying and it is typical of Ian Anderson to plant the thought of a dissolute weekend whilst singing about Holy Saturday.
Apparently the question remains unanswered according to the harmonic ...
I bet this is an unused SLOB track
But that was years ago.
@@GeoffCB Yes it was, SLOB was written during the second half of 90's, but this song so much resembles Ian's writing in that period and in the same time it's so different from anything else since
